This Diablo exhaust, made by our friends at Rogue Engineering, is 100% T-304 stainless steel, weighs on 18 lbs, has tubing that is 23% larger than stock, and much better flow over the stock exhaust. It uses a factory style hanger setup for easy installation with no modifications, cutting or welding required.
The exhaust is perfect for both a stock 2.3 liter M3 as well as heavily tuned or modified M3s, such as those with the 2.5 liter conversion. Often referred to as the "Rally" header, this Genuine BMW header shares the same BMW part number as the Euro EVO II / 2.3 Group A Header (making them one in the same). We have used and recomended this for over 10 years now as the header that gives you the best horsepower across the rpm range - on both 2.3 and 2.5 liter motors.It has a stainless steel 2 piece design and its outlet matches the tubing diameter both the stock 2.3 and 2.5 liter exhaust. Install Tips
Locate bung as close to engine a possible, without exceeding the maximum operating temperature for the O2 sensor. The suggested location is just down-stream of the merge-collector on each bank of cylinders.
Sensors located after upstream exhaust system leaks or too close to exhaust outlets are susceptible to poor readings or influence of ambient air
O2 Sensors exposed to exhaust gasses with too high amount of un-burnt fuel can lead to misleading readings. A possible lean reading.
Locate sensor/bung 90° to exhaust gas stream.
Locate sensor/bung in tube with a minimum of 10° up angel to prevent liquid build up in sensor element.
Use stainless steel welding wire or rod when installing bung.
Do not have bung plug or a oxygen sensor installed when welding bung in place.
Welding can distort the bung so it is recommended you chase/tap the threads of the bung after welding.
When installing O2 sensor or plug, use an O2 sensor compatible high temperature resistant grease on the threads.
Use tightening torque suggested by O2 senor manufacturer.
With years of experience with dealing with exhaust systems of all kinds, we've found this product to be the BEST at fixing or preventing exhaust leaks. Just apply a light coating of Acousti/seal to pipes, flanges or slip-fit clamps before assembly for a leak free installation. 5 ounce tube (142 grams).
