Performance Chip with Speed Sensor Delete

Performance Chips with Speed Sensor Delete
Pretty much all BMWs use a speed sensor to monitor rpm, ABS
and traction control/ASC operation, windshield
wiper speed, cruise control and of course the speedometer. In fact, the speed
sensor is one of the most vital sensors on the car. The DME relies on the speed
sensor signal to set the maximum rpm in each gear. Problems can arise if you
have re-wired the car for racing use or with an engine conversion. Some of those
problems are:
- time-consuming
re-wiring of the car during engine conversions or when building a racecar
harness
- low
rev limits in each gear
- installation
of data-acquisition systems no longer use the speed sensor signal
What
we have done is remove the lines of code in the chip that require the speed
sensor signal. Instead the DME relies on the specific parameters and data points
within the chip itself. The speed sensor itself remains installed in the
differential cover since other parts of the car require its signal. This is not
a catch-all answer to every problem that crops up with racecars or during a
engine conversion. But like the other parts we have developed, it makes the job
– and life – a lot easier.
NOTE: the speed sensor is different than the top speed governor. These chips
DO remove the top speed governor, like all of our normal Performance Chips, but
these chips are intended for people who have no use for the speed sensor signal.

You can add the EWS-delete feature to these chips as well. Because of the
different combinations and variables with these chips it is strongly recommended
you contact TMS for further info and ordering. Prices start at $299. Click
