BMW E30 Reinforcement Kits

Your BMW's suspension mounting points are notorious for failing to hold up over time. This type of failure is accelerated and aggrevated on cars that are driven aggressively, tracked or raced. The longer you let your car go without repairing or reinforing these mounts, the closer it gets to crumbling apart. Reinforcing existing chassis parts is just simple preventitive maintenance.

As E30s get older they develop cracks and bends in places that see a lot of stress. One of the most stressful areas is the front subframe. A sure sign that your subframe is not holding up is that paint will chip and peel from the stressed area. It's a good idea to reinforce your front subframe the next time you're doing any suspension work and a must when replacing motor mounts. This kit reinforces the upper and lower tabs of the subframe where the motor mount is located. Requires welding. Kit includes 2 motor mount reinforcements, 2 subframe "ear" reinforcements, and instructions.

A suspension mount is designed to take the stress and force of a suspension. A modified suspension, however, puts more stress on the mount. Time is not kind to mounts either. Newer cars with little use on the chassis may be able to hold up to upgraded suspensions but let's face it - the youngest E30 is over 19 years old. If you don't reinforce the rear swaybar bushing mount IT WILL fail - no doubt about it. This kit bolts into your car's trunk and prevents the mount from flexing and consequently breaking.

We install this kit on every E30 M3 that comes into our shop - regardless if it's in for suspension work or not. Any suspension modification will put stress on the front and rear swaybar mounts. Reinforcing the swaybar mount to the strut will keep your swaybar geometry in spec and prevent a costly and ugly repair. Simple upgrade but requires welding.

Rear Sway Bar Lower Link Reinforcement Kit - E30, Z3 (more info)

This product reinforces the metal swaybar link mounting point on the rear trailing arm. The sheet metal breaks off the trailing arm due to the constant up and down loads being placed on the trailing arm from the swaybar. Problems increase when larger sway bars are used. This product eliminates the problem by thickening the sheet metal and triangulating the mounting point. A good time to install this kit would be when you are doing any rear suspension work, exhaust, or even if you are just doing a differential fluid change.
