    BMW E36 Shark Injector Performance Software, 1996-2005 Models

    Increase horsepower and torque in your 1996-2005 BMW!

    The Shark Injector is an amazing hand-held unit that plugs into your car’s diagnostic port and re-flashes the computer with performance software. The software was developed by renowned BMW tuner Jim Conforti, who has nearly 20 years of BMW engine tuning experience. The Shark Injector is one of the safest and most cost-effective enhancements you can do – offering features and results that other upgrades simply cannot touch. The Shark Injector will also be upgrade-able through its own USB port, allowing you to upgrade to different software as your needs and modifications change (under development).

    This software is a major refinement of the stock software. It makes the car much easier to drive with less hesitation, more torque, and incredibly smooth operation. A lot of tuning has been done at the low RPM ranges to improve response. The car won’t hesitate or lag, making the car easier to drive. And with the extra torque you can drive in a higher gear and not have to downshift as often. Theoretically this means better fuel mileage too!

    How does it work? The Shark Injector makes changes to the stock BMW software in the areas of fuel enrichment, transition fueling, camshaft timing, ignition timing, and VANOS control to take full advantage of 91+ octane fuel. BMW ‘de-tuned’ cars for the North American market in the event inferior fuel was used. We reverse those changes to gain more horsepower and torque. 91 or higher octane fuel must be used.

    How does it install? The Shark Injector plugs into your car’s On Board Diagnostic (OBD) port, located under the dashboard in most cars. At the push of a button the Injector begins communicating with your car’s computer. The Shark handles everything from that point on – reading and copying the stock software, re-loading its own performance version, and checking its work along the way. The whole operation is completed in under 20 minutes. A battery charger with a continuous 10-20amp charge is required (available below if you do not currently own one).     Stage 2 Performance Software for E36 M3, MZ3 (Turner-Porsche 3.5" HFM, larger injectors)

    Conforti Shark Injector performance software tuned for our Stage 2 OBD2 package – larger fuel injectors, Porsche 3.5” HFM, and intake. This is the correct software to use with the desireable Porsche 809 HFM on the OBD2 E36 M3. You should not be running a larger HFM without software and injectors - you're in danger of running too lean! On the dyno we found that the stock fuel injectors were not capable of providing enough fuel to keep up with the increased airflow. This "leaner" fuel mixture was dangerous as it could lead to hotter combustion temps and burning or melting of critical components. With the correct HFM, larger injectors, and this software you will be back to running correct air-fuel ratios.

    The rev limit is raised to 7000 RPM with the top speed limiter removed. Works with 91 or higher octane fuel.

    Conforti Shark Injector performance software tuned for the highest level of our OBD2 kits - Schrick camshafts, "24lb" injectors, Porsche 809 3.5” HFM, intake, headers, and race exhaust (no cats). This software is tuned around the stock S52 manifold but will work with an M50 manifold as well. This software turns down the sensitivity of the post-cat oxygen sensors so that fault codes and check engine lights for no cats will not appear. This is the full-bore Kit - tuned for every bolt-on upgrade we sell.

    With this software you will notice more top end power, a broader torque band, and a smoother running engine. The rev limit is raised to 7000 RPM with the top speed limiter removed. Works with 91 or higher octane fuel.

    Optional Speed Sensor Delete - Since this software is intended for race or track use only, there is one additional feature we can build into the programming. The Speed Sensor is built into the diff cover - an area prone to excessive heat. During endurance races or very hot track days, the sensor can malfunction or actually melt. If the engine DME does not see this signal, it will restrict RPM to 5500, obviously killing your speed! This optional Speed Sensor delete programming will tell the DME not to care if the sensor is sending a signal or not. It will set the maximum RPM to 7000 RPM electronically.

In the past, when a Shark Injector owner needed an update made to his/her software, it required physically shipping the Shark Injector to Turner Motorsport for us to make the update for you. Advances made in the latest generation "USB" Shark Injector now make it possible for YOU to apply this type of update from your home computer, eliminating the hassle of shipping and waiting for your Shark Injector.

    This cable, when combined with any Windows based PC (or Mac running Windows via Bootcamp, VMware, Parallels, etc) and a SOON-TO-BE RELEASED Software Update application allows updates to be applied to the Shark Injector's programming. As periodic updates are released, we'll be able to email you updates to your Conforti Shark Injector, free of charge.

    Please note, this cable is NOT required to install the Shark Injector, and is only used when performing updates to your Shark Injector. Should you require updates to your Shark Injector at a later date, you may acquire the cable then -- or you may purchase the cable now to keep with your Shark Injector for future use, if needed (recommended).
