Bilstein Heavy Duty shocks and struts for the E46 M3 with factory/stock springs. Why buy new factory Sachs shocks at $700+/set when a Bilstein set is less money and comes with a lifetime warranty? The Bilstein HD shocks and struts are a direct replacement, using all of the factory mounts, pads, and bearings and are designed to be used with the stock spring.

The ride on an E46 M3 with Bilstein HD shocks is not unlike stock, with the Bilsteins being just a bit firmer overall - excellent for daily drivers who want a bit more performance but do not want to lower their car.     Made in the USATMS E46 fixed camber plates are designed from knowledge gained from our highly successful campaigns with the E46 in the SPEED World Challenge series. These plates are offset for the best camber and caster combination for racing purposes. Camber gain ranges from -2.5° to -3.0°, depending on each individual car. While ride height is increased by 1/8”, the benefit of these plates far outweighs the minor ride height increase. The rate of camber change is virtually unaffected throughout the range of suspension travel, reducing the need for other suspension geometry correcting components. Material has also been added to increase surface contact area therefore reducing the strut tower deformation and increasing the strength of the strut towers. Fixed mount camber plates are legal for all BMWCCA classes and many SCCA classes. This is a simple bolt on part. These fixed camber plates can be used on all non-M, non-xi E46 3 series, including 323i, 323Ci, 325i, 325Ci, 328i, 328Ci, 330i & 330Ci as produced from 1999 to 2005 (and 2006 coupes).

    Turner E46 M3 Street Camber Plates - General Information
    Made in the USA Race camber plates (with solid spherical bearings) are great for the track, but what if you want to drive your car on the street too? That’s what the TMS E46M3 street style caster/camber plates are: A plate you can use on the street, still have the available adjustment of a race camber plate, and not have to put up with a harsh ride or replace the bearings every season.

    The E46M3 STOCK strut mount only allows about ½ ° camber adjustment and no caster adjustment. For most track cars or street cars that occasionally see the track, that is not nearly enough. The stock strut mount is also set at an angle that is suited only for that position, and puts additional bending load on the strut if it is not in its original position. The TMS Caster/Camber Plates allow significant camber adjustment from approximately -1.2° to -3.85° and allows for the needed strut angle change.

    ***Note: Each car’s suspension setup/geometry/ride height will be the limiting factor on range of movement.

    Our Plates directly replace the stock strut mount, and incorporate a replaceable custom designed urethane bushing. The stock spring perch and bearing are retained in the assembly, allowing this part to be used with stock or aftermarket struts, such as a Bilstein PSS9 kit. Basically, this is a must for any one who will be auto-crossing, going to track days, or doing any performance driving, and still needs their car as a daily driver.

    Manufacturing
    Each part of the TMS caster/camber plates is CNC machined from aircraft grade aluminum billet. All aluminum pieces were then coated to MIL-A-8625F Type III spec hardcoat anodizing. Each steel part was either powdercoated or nickel plated to QQ-N-290A Grade F specifications. High grade hardware is used and main internal threads are helicoiled to add strength and life.

    The urethane bushing has been custom designed and manufactured specifically for this part and its required characteristics. It is now undergoing lifetime cycle fatigue testing. Real world testing was done using the red TMS E46 M3, and they are still being used.

    Design
    This product has been fully engineered and designed by Turner Motorsport R&D, in–house. The assembly is designed to directly replace the stock upper strut mount. Each piece has gone through stress analysis, and all movements were pre-simulated in CAD to eliminate any potential interference issues. The main goals for this product were:
    • Large range of adjustment while still allowing caster and camber to be adjusted from the top without cutting the strut tower. Cutting of strut towers significantly reduce their strength.
    • Maintain proper strut angle at any position by not pre-setting the angle.
    • Provide proper orientation with a replaceable urethane bushing
    • Minimize any noise associated with the urethane bushing
    The surrounding casing and bushing (internal and external) have been designed to work together to allow the proper strut angle to be maintained during adjustment, reducing the bending force on the strut itself, while offering longer life, and proper dampening. This was done through Finite Element Analysis to predict flow characteristics in different situations.

    A scale for camber and caster has been laser engraved on the upper plate which will always be visible for adjustment, and the upper plate is a full round circle to better distribute the force on the strut tower so it is not compromised. This has shown to be a problem on several BMW chassis, including the E46. This TMS part will not accelerate strut tower deformation.

    Turner Motorsport E46 M3 Race Camber Caster Plates (Monoball)   (more info)
    Made in the USAOur E46 M3 caster-camber plate is designed for coil over suspensions which use a 60mm, 2.25" or 2.5" ID spring. Originally, our plates were designed for use with the Bilstein PSS9 front struts but with 60mm ID race springs (not the standard PSS9 springs). These will also work on Moton Club Sports and other struts that use a 16mm shock shaft (the stock E46M3 size). Camber is adjusted by simply loosening the top three bolts and sliding the plate. Caster is adjusted at any time from the top of the car. Camber has a wide range of adjustment, from stock to a full race setting (about -1 degree to -3.6 degrees) Detailed settings and combinations will depend on each car’s suspension geometry, ride height etc. When ordering specify/select an upper spring perch in the ID of springs you will be using.

    E46 3 Series Rear Sway Bar Reinforcement Kit   (more info)
    Made in the USAThe BMW E46 3-Series chassis is one of the most rigid and well built BMW chassis to date. Even so, it still has some of the traditional BMW weak points. One of these is the rear sway bar / swaybar mounts. From chassis to chassis the problem has not been identical, but all the damage we have seen has been related to metal fatigue. The metal fatigue is due to the constant twisting and side loading of the sway bar. These forces on the sway bar will cause the mounting points to fail over time. The failure can happen faster with sway bar bind do to improper maintenance of the bushings, however proper sway bar bushing maintenance does not totally eliminate the problem. In the case of the E46 the sheet metal for the bushing bracket does not have enough material to support the loads being transferred to the subframe. We have designed the reinforcement to strengthen and redirect the load to stronger sheet metal. Requires Welding. Does not fit M3.

It's a good idea to reinforce your front subframe the next time you're doing any suspension work. This kit reinforces the upper and lower tabs of the subframe where the motor mount is located.     E46 Rear Chassis/Subframe Reinforcement Kit   (more info)
    Made in the USAThe E46 rear driveline and suspension are very similar to that of the E36. An unfortunate side effect of this is that the E46 also shares some of the same problems as the E36. One of these problems is the rear mounting points for the subframe, which can rip out from their spots in the sheet metal. This happens because the rear differential transmits the torsional load from the engine through the subframe, then into the chassis. This constant loading and unloading weakens the sheet metal and causes it to fatigue and separate from the chassis. BMW tried to fix this problem in the E46 by placing a cross member on the front two mounting points of the subframe. This cross member keeps the front mounting points from having problems by placing the bushing and the stud in double-sheer, thus reducing the twisting action on the sheet metal. The unfortunate side effect of this is that the load from the front of the subframe now gets transmitted to the left rear of the subframe. This is where we have seen many failures of the chassis on low mileage street cars and race cars.

    This product reinforces the chassis sheet metal at the subframe mounting points. We do this by thickening the metal and distributing the load over a larger area. This kit will save time when repairing the chassis, and is also strongly recommended as a preventative maintenance item.

    E46 Strut Tower Reinforcement Plates (Pair)   (more info)
    Like the E36 before it, the shock towers on the E46 are a notoriously weak point. Under normal driving conditions with a stock suspension it is unlikely that you will ever have a problem. But a sport or race suspension with firm springs transfers much of the energy from pounding the road to the thin sheet metal of the strut tower. This pounding will cause the tower to deform or even crack. These plates will help disperse the energy and save you from costly repairs in the future. Price is for the pair.

    Turner Motorsport Camber Arm Reinforcement Kit   (more info)
    Made in the USAThis TMS reinforcement kit is used to reinforce the stock rear lower camber arms just like BMW Motorsport does for its own production-class racing efforts. Factory camber arms are made to bend or split above certain loads to break in the event of an accident to help absorb the impact. Under race applications these loads can be exceeded under normal cornering forces. A main benefit of using the stock camber arms is that many racing classes allow for reinforcement of this part, and it increases the overall strength of the suspension. With welding experience, this kit can easily be installed by you. These arms differ from our own adjustable camber arms in that you can still use a streetable bushing on either end making it great for dual purpose street/track cars. They are ideal for racing classes that do not allow for alternate suspension components but do allow for alternate bushing materials. Additionally, the factory control arm is much lighter than most aftermarket camber arms, helping reduce the total unsprung weight.

    KMAC bushings are recommended if more camber adjustment is desired.

    This suspension will be firmer than stock but thanks to Bilstein's shock design it will not be harsh. On regular, unbroken pavement the ride will not be much firmer than stock!     Designed and built in-house at BMW Motorsport, these are stock rear camber arms from the E36 M3 that have been strengthened by welding a reinforment in between the wishbones. Stiffer than the stock units and still adjustable for camber. This arm is legal in many racing classes where an aftermarket arm is not permitted. Sold individually, two required per car.

    This tool was developed by the TMS race crew for multiple applications, such as centering the steering rack, centering the steering wheel, and attaining repeatable alignments.     A centered steering rack prevents handling issues such as uneven bump steer, inconsistent steering resistance and unequal turning radius left to right.     Made in the USAThe ORIGINAL rear trailing arm bushing / RTAB shim kit -- and still the best! The Turner rear trailing-arm bushing limiter kit creates a stiffer rear suspension without sacrificing ride quality. Stock trailing arm bushings are known for failure, on both the E36 and E46 BMW chassis. This kit is a perfect upgrade from stock, as it reduces bushing deflection, dramatically increases bushing life, improves handling, and all without the harshness of "race-only" bushings, and while maintaining completely silent operation -- no squeaks and no vibration, whatsoever.

    By combining these limiters with stock bushings, this is a great low cost and effective suspension performance enhancer. Each pair of blue aluminum "shims" essentially sandwich the stock rubber bushing to control their lateral movement. By limiting the amount of side-to-side play of the stock bushing, drivers will have increased driver feel thanks to the reduction of toe variation caused by the squirm of the stock rubber bushings. This also reduces duress on the bushing, giving your newly installed bushings a dramatically longer lifespan (a welcome benefit for both pure street or tracked cars).     Whether it is installing new wider wheels, tires, brake ducts, shocks, or springs, there could be a rubbing issue on the inside of your fender well. Our rack stops will help protect your investment. You can save the costs of replacing rubbing tires, worn out brake ducts, cut shock reservoir hoses, and broken underside plastic panels. There is also the added benefit of knowing you can turn the steering wheel to full lock and not be worried that the wheels will rub. Our rack stop length is the approximate length that will be removed from the outside tire wall’s path.     Suspension Bushings and Mounts
    3-series Rear Suspension Mount Package - Rubber Street Bushings - E46 (not M3)   (more info)
    This package is a complete overhaul of the rear suspension bushings in the E46 3-series. If your car is not feeling as crisp, has irregular tire wear, or has inconsistent (and unsafe) handling it's likely the rear bushings. We put together this package as a total overhaul to restore your car back to its original feel. Depending on the symptoms and diagnosis from your mechanic, it may be logical to replace all of the bushings in the rear suspension (there are 19 total). This is especially true if the subframe is being removed to repair or reinforce the rear floor (prone to failure).

    Turner Motorsport is a big believer in using rubber bushings for street cars. Urethanes, Delrin, or aluminum are generally good for reducing compliance and limiting deflection - attributes that don't really work well on roads filled with potholes, railroad crossings, cracks, and expansion joints. The rubber bushings maintain the factory ride/handling traits that won the 3-series praise all over the world. Every bushing will need maintenance or replacement at some point and rubber has proven to last the longest and need less maintenance than anything else, even urethane. And unless competitive driving is your goal, the harder materials are only a gimmick.

    Any major overhaul of the rear suspension should include new subframe mounts. The worn rubber mounts contribute to rear subframe-floor failure when the deflection in the mount is transferred to the chassis. Choose any of the other mounts and bushings you would like to replace at the same time, while the subframe is out of the car.     Individual Item Descriptions:
    Trailing Arm Bushings and Limiters (33 32 2 228 153 and TSU9990001) - our OEM rubber replacement trailing arm bushings (RTABs) are a perfect fit and help maintain rear toe alignment. The Limiters prevent premature bushing wear.
    Rear Inner Control Arm Bushings (upper 33 32 1 092 247 and lower 33 32 6 770 824) - new stock inner rubber bushings for the upper spring arm and the lower camber arm. These do not wear out very quickly but should be replaced as a 'While you're in there...' job.
    Rear Outer Control Arm Bushings (upper and lower) (33 32 6 775 551) - outer ball joints for the upper spring arm and the lower camber arm. These are the standard ball joint design found on the M3 and are a direct replacement upgrade on the other E46 models.
    Rear Shock Mounts (JTD909) - Our very best JT Designs rear shock mounts with gaskets and hardware. If your mounts have not been replaced in the last 40,000 miles, now is the perfect time. Skip this option if you recently replaced mounts or already have an upgraded mount.
    Rear Shock Mount Reinforcements (TSU9975100) - Even if your shock mounts are new or recent, the sheetmetal of the rear shock tower can still fatigue, leaving you with a very dangerous and expensive fix. These reinforcements are extra-thick, providing crucial strength to one of the weakest points on the car. They work with nearly every shock mount.
    Differential mounts (33 17 1 093 175MY and 33 17 6 751 808MY) - Now is a great time to replace the rubber-isolated differential mounts. The diff mounts take the bulk of the twisting and binding as power is transmitted through the differential. We use a Meyle HD rubber bushing for the rear mount as it's stronger than the factory part.
    Rear subframe mounts (33 31 6 770 783, 33 31 6 770 784, and 33 31 6 770 781 x 2) - The heart of the rear suspension, the subframe (or carrier) mounts located the entire rear suspension to the car. There are four mounts in total and bolt up into the rear floor. Worn subframe mounts are one of the leading contributors to rear floor-subframe failure. As the mounts flex, so does the sheetmetal of the chassis, which will fatigue the sheetmetal and crack the spot welds. Therefore, replacement of the subframe mounts is critical and a must when doing the subframe reinforcement or repair.

    Rear Inner Control Arm Bushings (upper 33 32 1 092 247 and lower 33 32 6 770 824) - new stock inner rubber bushings for the upper spring arm and the lower camber arm. These do not wear out very quickly but should be replaced as a 'While you're in there...' job.
    Rear Outer Control Arm Bushings (upper and lower) (33 32 6 775 551) - new stock outer ball joints for the upper spring arm and the lower camber arm. These are the standard ball joint design and last a very long time. Check for play with a pry bar and replace as needed.
    Rear Shock Mounts (JTD909) - Our very best JT Designs rear shock mounts with gaskets and hardware. If your mounts have not been replaced in the last 40,000 miles, now is the perfect time. Skip this option if you recently replaced mounts or already have an upgraded mount.
    Rear Shock Mount Reinforcements (TSU9975100) - Even if your shock mounts are new or recent, the sheetmetal of the rear shock tower can still fatigue, leaving you with a very dangerous and expensive fix. These reinforcements are extra-thick, providing crucial strength to one of the weakest points on the car. They work with nearly every shock mount.
    Differential mounts (33 17 2 282 484 and 33 11 2 282 482) - Now is a great time to replace the front rubber-isolated mount. This is another low-wear mount but it can be changed easily, and is a low cost item. The rear mounts are in the aluminum differential cover and BMW only sells them with it.
    Rear subframe mounts (33 31 2 283 573, 33 31 2 283 574, and 33 31 2 283 419 x 2) - The heart of the rear suspension, the subframe (or carrier) mounts located the entire rear suspension to the car. There are four mounts in total and bolt up into the rear floor. Worn subframe mounts are one of the leading contributors to rear floor-subframe failure. As the mounts flex, so does the sheetmetal of the chassis, which will fatigue the sheetmetal and crack the spot welds. Therefore, replacement of the subframe mounts is critical and a must when doing the subframe reinforcement or repair.

    These front control arm bushings are the same design as the original pieces but are 20% stiffer in resistance to give sharper steering and better response. These are the larger 66mm bushings with the housings as used on the E46 325i, 330i, and Z4 and an upgrade for the E46 323i and 328i.

    If you have felt that the original bushings were too soft or the car lacked response then these HD bushings will be a great upgrade for you. The stiffer rubber allows less deflection, making the suspension react faster. You will immediately notice that the car feels more direct and 'connected' and the steering keeps up with you especially during hard cornering. For maximum effect, we also recommend the Meyle HD or BMW 'Sport' control arms as an additional upgrade. Meyle HD parts have a 4-year warranty.

    Front Control Arm Bushings (FCAB) - Urethane Street - E46 M3 (Pair)   (more info)
    Factory bushings are more than adequate for street driving on the E46 M3. However, once the miles start to pile up, the bushings are meant to be replaced. Common side effects of worn factory FCABs include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Steering wheel shutter when brakes are applied
  • Wheel (and steering wheel) shimmy
  • Mysterious and irregular tire wear
  • "Overboosted" steering feel (very light steering)

  • Replacing with new factory bushings will return the factory feel. These urethane core bushings, however, offer something MORE. These bushings are designed to deliver performance that surpasses the stock E46 M3 bushing, while still allowing them to be used in everyday driving scenarios on public roads.

    With the numerous delrin/urethane/hybrid replacement bushings in the market, we wanted to offer bushings that were not only effective, but simple. No clips, no washers, no multiple sleeves, and no "race parts in street cars". They have an aluminum outer sleeve with a replaceable, compliant urethane core that is serviceable and rebuildable. These urethane inserts prevent unwanted control arm deflection, while allowing noise/vibration/harshness (NVH) isolation -- a must on any bushing being used on a street driven car. And because of their compliance they remain very comfortable for daily use. But because they are a heavier-duty design than stock, these eliminate steering shimmy and wander, especially with the addition of big brake upgrades.     Front Upper Spring Perch With Bearing - E38, E39, E46 M3, E60 M5   (more info)
    If you are removing or changing the front struts or springs or replacing the upper strut mount, NOW is the perfect time to replace this upper spring perch. BMW calls it a "upper spring pocket with axial cage bearing". It's really the upper spring plate with the bearings sandwiched between two plastic collars. The bearing insert is a common wear item becoming noisier, and gritty, or will just fail completely. You won't feel that they're bad from driving the car but you may hear clunking or popping sounds from the front struts. You can replace the rubber mounts on the car but don't leave this part out!     The strut mounts (or guide support) locate the front strut to the chassis of the car. They are a very durable rubber meant to absorb vibration and imapcts from bumps, potholes, etc. There is also a bearing inside that allows the strut shaft to turn independent of the rest of the suspension. Therefore, the front strut mount is a very critical piece on the front suspension. These mounts generally last 80,000 miles or more but it would be a good idea to change them with every strut replacement.

    Made in the USATMS rear subframe bearings are designed to limit rear control arm movement relative to the subframe. The stock BMW subframe bushings are made out of rubber, which allows variance in suspension position due to deformation and compression. A race car needs to have all suspension points remain in place for proper setup. By using high grade aircraft aluminum alloy and high performance race bearings, the TMS bushing replacements are both lightweight and strong. The casing is designed so that if maximum motion occurs, the load will be evenly distributed throughout the casing. Our flanges are designed to spread the load on the subframe and limit movement. The bearing we use is an extra wide race bearing to distribute the load over a broader area. Each piece is anodized or nickel plated to withstand corrosion. These bushings are a perfect compliment to the TMS lower camber arms.

    Rear Differential Mounts - OEM/Meyle HD Rubber - E46, X3, Z4   (more info)
    These rubber bushings from Meyle are a direct replacement for the stock differential bushings in the E46 3-series, E83 X3 SAV, and Z4 Roadster. If your original bushings are worn (likely around 100,000 miles) these are a great replacement upgrade. The front bushings are the stock OEM type rubber bushings. The rear bushing is a Meyle HD upgrade over stock - about 15% stiffer than the originals. This means the bushing will not flex and twist as much. This puts more power to the wheels since power is no longer used up for 'torquing' the bushing. These are not race bushings; the rubber material is perfectly suitable for street use.

    The non-M E46/E83/Z4 models use three differential mounts - two front bushings in the subframe and one rear mount in the diff cover. This set of Meyle bushings covers all three. You can opt to include new mounting hardware in the Options list below.

    Rear Differential Mounts - Turner Solid Aluminum - E46 M3   (more info)
    Made in the USAFor our Grand-Am Cup E46 M3s we wanted a fully solid differential mount setup. The advantages of a fully-solid aluminum set is that they last forever, quickens response in the suspension, and frees up horsepower to the wheels. These fully solid aluminum diff mounts are CNC machined and lightened for a direct replacement of the original rubber pieces.

    By substituting aluminum for rubber we can take out all of the deflection and 'wind up' inherent to the original rubber pieces. The high deflection rate of the stock rubber means the suspension reacts slower as the bushing is compressed. The power used to compress that bushing is instead passed straight to the axles and wheels. And since there is no time lost to deflection, response is greatly improved. These diff mounts are only recommended for racecars since the aluminum transfers more noise and vibration.

    This is a 3-piece set with a single front bushing and two rear bushings to press into the cover. They mount with the stock BMW hardware.

    Rear Outer Upper or Lower Trailing Arm Ball Joint - E36, E46, X3, Z4   (more info)
    This ball joint is used for the upper rear trailing arm bushing on ALL E36, E46, E83 X3, and E85 Z4 cars. BMW also used it as the lower bushing on most M cars. It makes a great upgrade on all non-M cars where BMW used a rubber bushing at the lower position.

    This sealed ball joint is one of the best things about the rear suspension - it functions extremely well and lasts a long time. And it can be used as a replacement for the existing bushing without any further modification. The non-M cars used a solid rubber bushing for the lower arm (camber arm, wishbone) which does not last very long and relies on bushing deflection (twist) during suspension motions. The ball joint inside the upgraded design is much more effective during this suspension movements as it does not bind or deflect. And because it's sealed with rubber it will last a long time and remain quiet and maintenance free. Most customers report that after installing or "upgrading" to these bushings the rear end of their car felt much more stable.

    Made in the USAWant the Ultimate design in a rear shock tower mount? You've found it. These rear shock mounts are designed for use on the track and racing. This set of mounts will help your rear shocks perform the best they can in those conditions. The advantage to using a mount with spherical bearing is that it allows the shock to freely move off axis without side loading the shock shaft like rubber or polyurethane mounts do. Side loading a shock increases stiction and wear which decreases its efficiency. Because these are mounts without an isolator (rubber or polyurethane) to dampen road noise and vibrations we do not recommend them for street cars. These were designed in-house and developed for our own track and race cars.

    These TMS bearing mounts include both 10mm and 12mm stainless steel bearing sleeves to work with a wide variety of shock shaft pins. The pin is the upper-most portion of the shock where it passes through the mount. If you need a bearing sleeve size other then 10mm or 12mm please contact us.

    Rear Subframe Bushings/Mount Set - Rubber - E46 M3, Z4 M   (more info)
    Any subframe work or reinforcement project on the rear of the E46 M3 should include a new set of subframe mounts. It's the worn rubber bushings that contribute to failed rear subframes on the E46 (but not the only reason). As the rubber gets worn, there is more flex to the mount. This flexing is then transferred to the sheetmetal in the floor where the spot welds will pop and the sheetmetal will crack. Additional force coming from stiffer suspensions and stickier tires will only increase the flexing of the mounts/chassis.

    Of course, stiffer mounts would help prevent this problem but with a stiffer bushing comes ride harshness, vibration, and additional noise. Our engineers and technicians recommend replacement with the factory rubber bushings (along with the appropriate reinforcement of the floor). The rubber bushings help isolate bumps and impacts and are quiet. They are also a perfect fitment and require no maintenance.

    While our Delrin-Aluminum subframe mounts conform to various racing series these all-aluminum mounts are the ultimate in reducing flex and deflection. The rubber stock mounts, and the Delrin mounts to a small degree, flex and deflect as various forces are applied throughout the subframe - on and off throttle loading, cornering on flat surfaces, bumpy surfaces, weight transfer, sticky race tires, etc. Too much flex from worn rubber mounts will transfer to flex where the subframe meets the chassis/floor. Delrin is a very hard plastic material with almost zero deflection and also lasts a lot longer than using any type of rubber or urethane bushing. Since there is less wasted motion with a solid bushing, the suspension can react faster and give you more feedback. The rear alignment stays in check during hard cornering, braking, and acceleration. You will corner faster and be able to get the power down earlier at corner exit with increased confidence.

    Delrin is a near solid bushing that does not absorb or dampen vibration or impact harshness. Therefore, we only recommend these for track-spec cars or street cars and drivers with more tolerance for noise, vibration, and harshness.

    These are a direct replacement for the factory bushings. Special installation tools are required but Delrin does not need long-term care or maintenance. Price is for the pair.

    Rear Trailing Arm Bushings (RTAB) - Meyle HD Rubber - E36, E46, Z4 (Pair)   (more info)
    The rear trailing arm bushings (RTABs) control the toe alignment of the rear suspension. When they go bad, the rear traction suffers because the wheel's toe angle is moving excessively in and out during cornering. This can make the car feel nervous and 'tail happy' even during modest cornering speeds. As important as these bushings are, they only seem to last 40-50,000 miles on their own.

    These German-made Meyle bushings are about 20% stiffer than the originals. The harder rubber allows less compliance which gives better feedback and crisper handling. All Meyle HD parts are warranted for 4 years. It's a performance upgrade with no downside.

    Any RTAB would benefit from our Bushing Limiters. These spacer shims fit on either side of the bushing and limit excess rotation. It's this over-extending of the bushing that causes them to wear out so fast. The Limiters will prolong the life of the bushing and are an easy install when performing the bushing replacement.

    If you're experiencing a "loose" feeling when going around corners, these are the likely culprit. The rear bushings on these cars will wear out just like any other bushing. When this happens, the rear toe (the angle that the tire points in or out) will vary under load.     Made in the USAOur Monoball Rear Trailing Arm Bushings are the best solution for completely elimination deflection and unwanted toe changes on the rear of the E36, E46, and Z4. While rubber and urethane bushings flex during load, the toe can change widely giving you nervous and unpredictable handling. These RTABs have a solid aluminum housing with a high-quality race bearing. These bushings were developed over years of competition use in various racing and HPDE events. There is simply no better RTAB unless your racing class rules prohibit the use of mono or spherical bearings.

    The rear trailing arm bushings take a lot of abuse from acclerating, braking and cornering. The stock rubber bushings are just not up to the task of keeping rear wheel alignment in spec for very long, especially if you have upgraded to stickier tires and a better suspension. The pliable rubber flexes and twists which slows down reaction time and leaves you with a car that feels nervous and 'tail happy'. Urethane helps to control the alignment but issues with fitment, maintenance, and longevity keep us from recommending urethane on anything but a street car. We also offer a Delrin RTAB for cars that must conform to certain racing class rules. These aluminum spherical bearings are the best at controlling rear toe alignment.

    Our aluminum RTABs are very well made - high grade aluminum alloy and steel CNC'd out of a billet by an ISO 9001 certified manufacturer, each component is either hardcoated or nickel plated. The bearing is extra wide to accept higher loads and is replacable for a nominal cost. While multiple manufacturer’s offer two piece designs, our research showed that a one piece bushing is a better design.

    Because solid bushings transmit more noise, vibration, and harshness we do not recommend their use on any street car. These are sold for race or track-prepped cars only.

    This set of sway bars are built by H&R in Germany to specs from Turner Motorsport! To reduce the understeering affects of a staggered wheel setup you want a balanced set of sway bars. We use a 2-way adjustable 27mm front bar and a 3-way adjustable, 21mm rear bar. These anti-roll bars have precision forged ends and include bushings made from an H&R-exclusive urethane/Teflon composite that eliminates squeaks and don't require lubrication. The bars are powder coated for long-lasting good looks. These bars are made from a proprietary alloy that is both stronger and more resilient than other sway bar kits.

    Fitment
    These bars fit in the stock locations using the existing brackets and links. Adjustable links are not required but recommended if the car is lowered or if you have coil overs. We can also include new factory links with the hardware pressed in for a quicker install. This is especially helpful in the rear where the hardware can be tricky. To avoid pre-loading the bar, it is best to leave one side un-done until the car is lowered to the ground. Never connect both links to the same bar with the car off the ground.

    Do I need adjustable sway bar links?
    The adjustable sway bar links ensure that there is no pre-load on the bar and that the bar has the correct clearance to other suspension components. Pre-load is when the bar is slightly stressed when it's on the car. If you have to force the links to fit the bar because it has tension then you have pre-load. Adjustable links fix all of that because you can then shorten or lengthen the link to match the installation of the bar. If you have coil overs or the car is very low, you should definately have the adjustable links because these conditions may contribute to the pre-load situation.

    Setup
    The bars are adjustable so any driver can find an ideal setup for the type of driving they are doing. The sway bar becomes stiffer in the hole(s) furthest from the end of the bar. We would generally recommend starting out with the front bar set to the stiffer setting and the rear bar positioned in the middle. Adjust to your liking from there.

    Overview
    The Turner Motorsport sway bar / swaybars for the E46 M3 were designed to provide better overall balance and performance than the stock anti-roll bars. With these bars you can greatly reduce bodyroll and decrease the understeering effects of a staggered wheel setup. They are adjustable in the front (3-position) and the rear (2-position) to fine tune the handling for both the street and the track. The TMS anti-roll bars are sized at 30mm in the front and 25mm in the rear (+4 and +3.5mm, respectively). H&R's exclusive urethane / Teflon bushings are included. The Teflon inner lining requires no lubrication or maintenance so you won’t have to put up with annoying squeaks and annual greasing work. These bars are crafted from a special 50CrV4 spring steel that is both stronger and more resilient than competitive sway bars. They have been shot peened and heat treated, and feature precision forged ends. We feel that these are the best bars on the market for the E46 M3 - we have used these on our race-winning M3s in the Koni Challenge and SCCA T2 classes.

    E36/E46 Rear Adjustable Length Sway Bar End Links (Pair)   (more info)
    These adjustable rear links are only required when using sway bar / swaybars with a suspension with a very low ride height, where it may be necessary to adjust the length of the end links for proper sway bar clearance from the drive axles or other suspension components. These suspensions are usually found only on race cars but this may also apply to street cars with sport springs/sport coil overs that are lowered a lot. On most street cars lowered 1.5" or less, the stock links will be fine.

    These end links feature a Heim joint, which allows enough lateral movement when disconnected to adjust the length of the link without removing the entire link from the car. This is particularly helpful when eliminating or adjusting preload while tuning the suspension. Similar links without this joint, can't be adjusted without totally removing the link from the car.

    Built-in grease fittings allow for occasional lube, and a packet of grease is included. These links are sold as a set, and include two end links and hardware for H&R and TMS sway bars (other brands may not need the hardware). Note: these links will not work with factory or non-adjustable Eibach sway bars.

    At their shortest setting they are 2.875" hole to hole and on their longest setting they are 3.5" hole to hole.

    With the wide range of suspensions and sway bars available today adjustable sway bar links can help you with many problems. Along with the ability to remove preload you can change the length to maximize sway bar / swaybar geometry. Example: if the sway bar hoop comes too close to the steering rack, oil cooler, or under tray in its suspension travel you can adjust it by simply lengthening or shorting the adjustment rod.     Our renowned TMS adjustable front sway bar / swaybar links for BMWs are now available in custom lengths, making them easy to order for any aftermarket or custom suspension setups. Simply measure for your ideal link length, and order the links with the best length range (below). Each sway bar link has a 10mm diameter mounting pin/stud, which is the typical factory/stock size for a universal fitment. These are sold by the pair, and each set includes two matching sway bar end links.

    These end links offer the quiet operation and long life of "stock" BMW end links, but with the strength and adjustability of rod-end style sway bar links. These sway bar links can be used on a wide variety of BMWs and aftermarket BMW suspensions. When measuring, please consider that the length ranges of our Custom Adjustable end links are measured from the center to center on the end link mounting stud / pin, as shown in our diagram.

    E46 xi Tie Rod assembly. This is a Lemforder brand (original supplier to BMW) tie rod assembly for all 2001-2005 E46 xi all wheel drive model 3 series, including 325xi and 330xi. These are common failiure items on the 325xi and 330xi, and should be replaced immediately upon evidence of wear, play or other failure. As these pertain to your BMWs steering system, these are safety items. Preventative replacement is highly recommended.

    This Lemforder tie rod fits all 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004 and 2005 model 325xi and 330xi (AWD) models. The left tie rod is BMW part # 32-10-6-774-318 and the right tie rod is BMW part# 32-10-6-774-319.
