Control Arm - E46, Z4 - Upgraded Genuine BMW ZHP

These are the Genuine BMW ZHP control arms for the "M" sport suspension (#31122282121 & 31122282122) -- a direct replacement for the ZHP/Performance package 330i, and a great upgrade for all cars that did not come with them, as they feature solid ball joints (no rubber failure prone ball joints here!) and overall are "more beefy" and durable. They will NOT fit the XI all-wheel-drive cars, or M3.

One common weak point in the E46 3-series model range is in the mounting and ball joints of the suspension. The front suspension ball joints in particular are prone to wearing out quite quickly thanks to a soft material, leaving you in a potentially dangerous situation. At best, worn ball joints and bushings will give you poor steering feedback and clunking noises. However, loose or worn ball joints will have excessive play which will reduce the effectiveness of the steering and suspension. In extreme cases, the ball joint has been known to pop free of the control arm, resulting in total steering loss.
Meyle has addressed this problem with metal ball joints, similar to those used on the E46 ZHP. The metal in the HD joint will not wear or fatigue nearly as fast as the standard ball joints. The lifespan is greatly extended. The lack of play will mean sharper steering, restoring much of the car's precision and fun-to-drive character. Meyle is a German brand in business since 1958 and all of their products are TUV approved and meet or exceed ISO standards.

E46 xi Control Arm Overhaul Kit - 2001 to 2005 325xi & 330xi

This package covers the front control arms and bushings on the 2001-2005 E46 325Xi and 330Xi. These cars use a unique front suspension but the principle design – and downside – is the same as almost all of the BMW 3-series since 1984. The inner and outer ball joints see a lot of wear as they are constantly in motion. With the heavy front end of the 4WD Xi, these components need frequent inspection and replacement. When the bushings and ball joints fail, the front end can shimmy and feel loose through the steering wheel. Excess play in the rubber bushings can cause alignment problems and sloppy steering. There is usually a knocking or clunking sound to further annoy you. We've assembled this
package to replace everything on both front control arms and restore your BMW's exceptional driving dynamics. All parts are OEM Boge, Lemforder, or Original BMW to maintain the highest quality standard.

Front Control Arm Bushings - E46 325xi & 330xi 2001 to 2005 (Pair)

These are stock replacement control arm bushings for all 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004 and 2005 325xi & 330xi, the all-wheel-drive model E46 chassis 3 series. These are a common failure item on all 325xi and 330xi, and a new set will reduce many front end alignment and steering feel issues. This is a pair (2 bushings)
For convenience, we carry spare bushing carrier brackets (part# TSU4695PBX, see illustation above) and can pre-install your bushings into the carriers, if you choose. This will save you from needing a hydraulic press and will allow you (or your mechanic) to perform the install much quicker. This is especially useful if you want to have a set of race or track spares, ready to go.
