The Active Processor 2 from Active Autowerke features Digital Technology with 4-d mapping capability that allows you to maximize your engine's potential gains while making sure your car is still running well within its "safe" limits.
The AP2 also includes the added benefit of 8 different pre-programmed tuning files that were custom tuned for various performance upgrades. One can select from various boost levels and power curves as well as custom tunes to accomodate for performance upgrades that include high-flow performance exhausts, performance filters, downpipes, intercooler upgrades, higher octane fuels, and more!
Selection of these varied tuning files can be performed and uploaded by the driver and does not require special tools. A simple set of specific instructions are included and explain how to use your gas pedal to choose your preferred map. Once installed, anyone can select these specific tuned files over and over again.

The Cobb Tuning AccessPort is a flashing tool that installs performance software through the OBD port on your car. No other software is as easy to use and install! If you can program a TV remote, you're over-qualified to install this software. Just plug the AccessPort into the OBDII port under the dash, bring up the AccessPort onscreen menu, select from a variety of engine maps for your desired performance and install. It's that easy. The software is from COBB Tuning - one of the most accomplished software tuners in the business. The Cobb software replaces the conservative factory settings with different maps to make more power.
The AccessPort maintains the sophisticated control logic, refined engine response and excellent driveability of the stock BMW computer while providing impressive power gains and improved performance. Pre-loaded on the AccessPort are engine maps for 91 or 93 octane fuel, and a valet mode, with the capacity to hold up to 100 other tuning files! The AccessPort also saves your stock tune for you to revert back to factory settings at any time. New improved version, with advanced features! The Turbo Tuner 2 is a more advanced version of the popular Turbo Tuner, a plug-and-play solution that significantly enhances performance. Typical gains of the Turbo Tuner 2 are 40 horsepower and 50 ft-lbs of torque. Both the Turbo Tuner and Turbo Tuner 2 are easily installed -- this updated version 2 adds a user adjustment, allowing you to fine-tune the additional boost the Turbo Tuner 2 provides. This updated version also adds a wire harness extension, which allows you to locate the adjustment control in a spot of your choosing, for easier access. Dial up/down the boost as needed, in seconds. The connectors and wiring on the Turbo Tuner 2 have also been improved to provide additional strain relief on the cabling, assuring trouble-free operation over many cycles of installation and removal. There is simply no easier and less expensive way to make such drastic horsepower and torque gains on a BMW, period.
The Turbo Tuner 2, like its predecessor, can be installed or uninstalled in seconds. It does not cause any trouble codes and its operation does not leave any trace that it was ever there. The Turbo Tuner 2 is not an ECU re-flash solution. It is an embedded control solution, built using surface mount technology and state-of-the-art pick-and-place assembly equipment, that works seamlessly with the stock ECU. The turbo tuner provides real performance gains while it preserves the smooth and refined character of the car. It also features a soft limit circuit that avoids overboost, protecting the engine from boost spikes and preserving drivability. A temperature compensation protection circuit lowers boost at elevated under-hood temperatures for further protection. No special tools or expertise required, and full instructions and support are provided.
The internal setting is accessed by removing two screws and the cover on the back of the unit. The setting adjusts the additional boost over stock. With a setting of 100 the unit will request an increase of 4 psi over stock. The actual boost will depend on several factors including the octane of the fuel. On the later model years a 2D25 manipulation prevention code can be set if the setting is too high. It is a good idea to check with a scan tool to make sure that code is not being stored. Turn down the setting if necessary.
This part alters or deletes the emissions equipment on your car. Because of this, we require a waiver of emissions compliance to be signed and sent in to TMS. You can download the waiver here.

Our performance software for the 2006-2007 E60 525i is a total re-map of the stock BMW software, bringing it closer to the performance of the 530i. The engines in the 525i and 530i are basically the same with the exception of camshafts, the intake manifold, software, and some minor hardware. There are no down sides of this modification, other than needing 91 or higher octane gas. We modify fuel and spark mapping, adjust the valvaetronic (throttle), and most importantly INCREASE THE BOOST to a safe, reliable amount.

Our software for the mighty V10 in the 2006-2010 M5 and M6 is a further refinement of the stock programming. Where we can make our software better is by tuning it for 91 or higher octane gasoline. The stock software is tuned around the 87 octane available in the US (not that most people would use 87 but BMW engineers accounted for that possibility). With our software, the performance of the S85 engine is optimized. We tune many areas of the engine programming - fuel and timing maps at part throttle and wide-open throttle, VANOS variable valve timing, rough idle at cold start, crisper shifts in SMG, and more. The throttle response is also improved (quicker) eliminating unwanted and dangerous flat spots in the pedal response.

This special Race software is designed to work with sport headers that eliminate the primary catalytic converters. On our own M5 project vehicles, this combination netted 30hp and 50ft-lbs of torque* - a massive transformation to an already mighty car. Our special software will keep fault codes and check engine lights away by ignoring the readings from the second set of oxygen sensors. Without a reading, the computer doesn't realize the cats have been removed.
