E60 Engine Performance Packages
Since 1993 Turner Motorsport has been at the forefront of performance tuning for BMWs. We show this best in our tuned Performance Packages, developed along stages for specific BMW models. Each staged Package is tuned in-house, bringing together expertise from our street tuning division, service shop, and race team. Nearly all of our Packages feature custom-tuned performance software from the best names in the business. The software is the best feature in our kits, maximizing power gains while doing nothing to affect engine reliability or driveability. In most cases, you can jump from one stage to another or just go straight to a higher stage. We'll work with you to select the appropriate parts and a matching software tune. Nearly all of our Packages have been tested and tuned on our in-house Dynapack Chassis Dyno. Our packages are designed for US-spec models only.

Our Stage 1 kit featuring a cold-air intake kit and matching performance software. The aFe intake is a cone filter with a heat-blocking shield around it. The larger surface area of the filter, combined with the heat shield, allow more cool air to enter the engine - creating more power and torque, a richer engine sound, and better throttle response. The kit is supplied complete with heat shield, intake tube, sealing materials, hardware, and install instructions.
Our flash software is tuned especially for a cold-air intake, maximizing the potential and providing smoother power delivery. We take the stock software and make adjustments for 91 octane (stock software is set around 87). We can get more power and torque, and increase fuel efficiency without affecting driveability or the life of the engine. The throttle response is also improved (quicker) eliminating unwanted and dangerous flat spots in the pedal response.
Since the 525's N52 engine was de-tuned from the factory, the software and intake are among the essential items for easily getting that power added back. Both of these items are packaged and work together. They provide a solid performance boost with a built-in package discount. For an excellent 'bang for the buck' upgrade, the software and intake are a great choice. If you're also adding the intake manifold from the 330/530 we can customize the software tune for that as well.
The software is performed via a 'flash' of the car's computer. The computer must be sent to us for the software install. The 530i already gets BMW's 'HO - High Output' engine so what we have done is focus on improving the mid-range torque. Since this is where most drivers spend their time these gains would prove to be the most beneficial. Both of these items are packaged and work together. Our Stage 1 kit features a cold-air intake kit and performance software for a staggering increase in power and torque. We offer this package with the aFe Dual Cone Intake (DCI) to open up the breathing. The larger surface area of the filters allows more air to enter the engine - creating more power and torque, a richer engine sound, and better throttle response. The kit is supplied complete with aFe Pro5R filters, mounting shield, intake tubes, sealing materials, hardware, and install instructions. The torque increase from low-mid RPM is sensational.
We have paired the aFe DCI with the Cobb AccessPort performance software. The Cobb software tool puts multiple tuning stages in the palm of your hand. Our Stage 1 Performance Package is aligned with the Cobb Stage 1 tuning map. Simply plug it in, select the Stage 1 map with your octane preference, and install. Select different maps for other upgrades, throttle settings, octane ratings, valet mode, or revert back to stock! If you're moving up in Stages simply download a new file from the Cobb website and update your AccessPort programmer! The AccessPort triples as a diagnostic tester/reader and a data logger. It's the most feature-packed programmer on the market today.
We have taken the guesswork out of choosing the best upgrades for the N54 engine. If you follow the upgrade path we have laid out you will have very satisfying and reliable results. This Stage 1 package is a great 'bang for the buck' upgrade - this power kit makes more power and torque at every RPM and makes a fantastic snarling sound every time you dip into the throttle. Note that peak power gains are quoted above but this package has even bigger performance gains in the lower RPM!!

The M5's S85 engine responds very well to changes in the software tune. There is a broader torque band, smoother application of throttle input, and the intakes provide a distinctive growl to accompany each throttle opening. The stock M5/M6 has a front set of catalytic converters that are integrated into the "headers". These produce a large amount of restriction, robbing your V10 of precious torque. To counter-act this, our kit replaces these restrictive front cats with Supersprint's celebrated stainless steel tubular headers with a section of sport catalytic converters. This set unleashes big horsepower! To make this all work, our Stage II software (a reflash of your engine computer) is included. In addition to adjusting the V10's fuel, spark, and vanos maps to take advantage of the freer-flowing manifolds and cats, it also removes the top speed limiter and disables the rear O2 sensors (for no Check Engine light). Look at the dyno chart - this kit offers +40lb/ft torque over stock and +25 more horsepower - AT THE WHEELS! This is power you can feel in every gear.

Stage 2 software also available separately, and is recommended for cars that have aftermarket headers and/or cars where cats have been completey removed. We have seen gains of 14hp and 12lb/ft of torque at the wheels on cars with headers and straight pipes after they install our Stage 2 software - and again, no check engine lights.
This part alters or deletes the emissions equipment on your car. Because of this, we require a waiver of emissions compliance to be signed and sent in to TMS. You can download the waiver here.
