E60 M5 06-10 Stage 1 Turner Motorsport Performance Package   (more info) 2006-2010 E60 M5, E63 M6 Stage 1 Performance Package Power Gain @ Peak Output: +18hp / +38ft-lbs Rev limit: 8400 Octane: 91 or higher Our Stage 1 Performance kit includes an extensive cold-air intake kit and matching performance software. The aFe intake is a set of cone filters with heat shields. The larger surface area of the filter, combined with the heat shields and tuned intake ducting, allows more cool air to enter the engine - creating more power and torque, a richer engine sound, and better throttle response. The kit is supplied complete with aFe Pro5R filters, heat shields, intake tubes, sealing materials, hardware, and install instructions. Our flash software is tuned especially for a cold-air intake, maximizing the new volume of cool air with the fuel curves, timing, and camshaft operation for more power and smoother power delivery. We take the stock software and make adjustments for 91 octane (stock software is set for 87). We can get more power and torque, and increase fuel efficiency without affecting driveability or the life of the engine. The throttle response is also improved (quicker). The M5's S85 engine responds very well to changes in the software tune. There is a broader torque band, smoother application of throttle input, and the intakes provide a distinctive growl to accompany each throttle opening. Both of these items are packaged and work together. They provide a solid performance boost with a built-in package discount. For an excellent 'bang for the buck' upgrade, the software and intake are a great choice. The software is performed via a 'flash' of the car's computer. The computer must be sent to us for the software install. Turn-around time is typically the same day and overnight shipping is available to get it back to you quickly. These produce a large amount of restriction, robbing your V10 of precious torque. To counter-act this, our kit replaces these restrictive front cats with Supersprint's celebrated stainless steel tubular headers with a section of sport catalytic converters. This set unleashes big horsepower! To make this all work, our Stage II software (a reflash of your engine computer) is included. In addition to adjusting the V10's fuel, spark, and vanos maps to take advantage of the freer-flowing manifolds and cats, it also removes the top speed limiter and disables the rear O2 sensors (for no Check Engine light). Hydraulic Belt Tensioner - E36, E46, E39 6-cyl   (more info) Hydraulic Belt Tensioner for E36, E46, E39 6-cyl models. This is the oil-filled tensioner that keeps the main drive belt in the proper tension. Over time the piston seals inside allow fluid to leak out. The tensioner becomes frozen or inoperable. Replacement is the best corrective action to take. This can be done during any belt or pulley service or anytime the fan is off the engine. Or it could just be this switch that fails several times over a car's lifespan. By no means should you ignore the warning light but replacing this sensor could be the actual culprit.
