Our Performance Software makes more horsepower and torque with no downsides! Performance software is the icing on the cake, the finishing touch, or the capstone for your BMW tuning project. Software ties it all together - maximizing output from upgrades where the factory software can't keep up. The factory software is actually programmed around 87 octane which de-tunes the performance of the car. Our software is set to 91 as a mimimum, allowing us to be more aggressive with the programming. We can refine and adjust the factory limitations, opening up the potential for more horsepower or refinement from your current upgrades. We also tune the software to fix defects and rough edges in the stock software, making the car easier and more enjoyable to drive.
We have been tuning BMW software since 1995, making us one of the most experienced BMW tuners in North America. Over the years we have experimented and tested many different forms and brands of performance software, including developing our own on our Dynapack chassis dyno. Our Performance Software catalog includes tunes and upgrades that best suit your BMW and your upgrade goals.

Software for most 2005 and newer models is done in-house via a reflash of your computer. A 'flash' is copying your stock software and replacing it with our new, modified version. Your engine computer will need to be sent to us for the upgrade.

The Active Processor 2 from Active Autowerke features Digital Technology with 4-d mapping capability that allows you to maximize your engine's potential gains while making sure your car is still running well within its "safe" limits.
The AP2 also includes the added benefit of 8 different pre-programmed tuning files that were custom tuned for various performance upgrades. One can select from various boost levels and power curves as well as custom tunes to accomodate for performance upgrades that include high-flow performance exhausts, performance filters, downpipes, intercooler upgrades, higher octane fuels, and more!
Selection of these varied tuning files can be performed and uploaded by the driver and does not require special tools. A simple set of specific instructions are included and explain how to use your gas pedal to choose your preferred map. Once installed, anyone can select these specific tuned files over and over again.
The AP2 comes with a wire harness kit, detailed CD installation instructions and ancillary hardware for a clean and simple installation.

Looking for more power from your N55 equipped 335i or 135i? This BMW Performance Software Upgrade provides a 20hp gain while retaining the factory warranty. With sporty performance, outstanding driving dynamics and innovative technology, the Power Kit maintains all of BMW's key attributes but allows you to put a personal touch on your BMW. The Performance-Optimized Engine Software provided by the Power Kit increases torque to 332 lb-ft (automatic transmissions) or 317 lb-ft (manual transmissions) available from just 1,500 rpm. Power output is increased by 20 horsepower, from 300hp to 320hp. This results in faster acceleration from 0 to 60 mph (0.2 seconds faster than the standard model) and from 50 mph to 75 mph (0.5 seconds faster than the standard model). Even with this increased power, the fuel consumption and emissions ratings remain the same as they were with the standard model. The Power Kit also adds a very sporty exhaust burbling noise during engine overrun conditions. BMW Power Kits are the only form of “tuning kits” approved and covered under the BMW of North America limited warranty. Power Kits are designed and tested by BMW engineers to provide the highest power increase without sacrificing reliability.

The Cobb Tuning AccessPort is a flashing tool that installs performance software through the OBD port on your car. No other software is as easy to use and install! If you can program a TV remote, you're over-qualified to install this software. Just plug the AccessPort into the OBDII port under the dash, bring up the AccessPort onscreen menu, select from a variety of engine maps for your desired performance and install. It's that easy. The software is from COBB Tuning - one of the most accomplished software tuners in the business. The Cobb software replaces the conservative factory settings with different maps to make more power.
The AccessPort maintains the sophisticated control logic, refined engine response and excellent driveability of the stock BMW computer while providing impressive power gains and improved performance. Pre-loaded on the AccessPort are engine maps for 91 or 93 octane fuel, and a valet mode, with the capacity to hold up to 100 other tuning files! The AccessPort also saves your stock tune for you to revert back to factory settings at any time. GIAC Performance software for the 2007+ BMW E82 135i and E90/E92 335i 335xi
Dyno developed performance software for the 135, 335 - and it makes AMAZING POWER! +70hp and +80lb/ft of torque over stock! That's 330.7 hp to the wheels and 359 lb ft of torque, as measured at the rear wheels -- just imagine how much power that is at the crank! Can you say faster than a M3? There are no down sides of this modification, other than needing 91 or higher octane gas. We modify fuel and spark mapping, adjust the valvaetronic (throttle), and most importantly INCREASE THE BOOST to a safe, reliable amount.
This is the perfect upgrade for someone who wants a dramatic but safe boost in power -- especially in the low to mid-range. Check out the dyno sheet: with the Stage 1 performance software your car will have MUCH more torque at ALL RPM, including down low (where you want it) for remarkably better torque. This is HUGE torque that is a NIGHT AND DAY difference. If you are in the Boston area, make an appointment to stop by for a road test. Our 335 with this software is simply "Nutty!", as others have put it. 91 or higher octane gasoline is required. New improved version, with advanced features! The Turbo Tuner 2 is a more advanced version of the popular Turbo Tuner, a plug-and-play solution that significantly enhances performance. Typical gains of the Turbo Tuner 2 are 40 horsepower and 50 ft-lbs of torque. Both the Turbo Tuner and Turbo Tuner 2 are easily installed -- this updated version 2 adds a user adjustment, allowing you to fine-tune the additional boost the Turbo Tuner 2 provides. This updated version also adds a wire harness extension, which allows you to locate the adjustment control in a spot of your choosing, for easier access. Dial up/down the boost as needed, in seconds. The connectors and wiring on the Turbo Tuner 2 have also been improved to provide additional strain relief on the cabling, assuring trouble-free operation over many cycles of installation and removal. There is simply no easier and less expensive way to make such drastic horsepower and torque gains on a BMW, period.
The Turbo Tuner 2, like its predecessor, can be installed or uninstalled in seconds. It does not cause any trouble codes and its operation does not leave any trace that it was ever there. The Turbo Tuner 2 is not an ECU re-flash solution. It is an embedded control solution, built using surface mount technology and state-of-the-art pick-and-place assembly equipment, that works seamlessly with the stock ECU. The turbo tuner provides real performance gains while it preserves the smooth and refined character of the car. It also features a soft limit circuit that avoids overboost, protecting the engine from boost spikes and preserving drivability. A temperature compensation protection circuit lowers boost at elevated under-hood temperatures for further protection. No special tools or expertise required, and full instructions and support are provided.
The internal setting is accessed by removing two screws and the cover on the back of the unit. The setting adjusts the additional boost over stock. With a setting of 100 the unit will request an increase of 4 psi over stock. The actual boost will depend on several factors including the octane of the fuel. On the later model years a 2D25 manipulation prevention code can be set if the setting is too high. It is a good idea to check with a scan tool to make sure that code is not being stored. Turn down the setting if necessary.
This part alters or deletes the emissions equipment on your car. Because of this, we require a waiver of emissions compliance to be signed and sent in to TMS. You can download the waiver here.

Our software fully maximizes the N52N engine in 128i spec. The stock BMW software is hampered by settings for 87 octane fuel. By re-mapping the engine programming for 91 octane, we can make more power, torque, and improve fuel mileage - all without harm to the engine or affecting driveability. We have paid particular attention to increasing low and mid-range torque. The throttle response is also improved (quicker) eliminating unwanted and dangerous flat spots in the pedal response.
Since the 128i's engine is similar to the engine used in the 255hp 330i we are able to tune for the upgrades commonly used to get to the full 330 spec - intake manifold, cold air intake, exhaust, and headers/sport cats.

This software file is for the N51 engine SULEV model only. SULEV is a specification used in some parts of the US where emissions compliance is critical (mostly in California, the Northwest, and the Northeast). The computer and engine specs are different than the 'regular' 128i N52 engine. You can tell if yours is the SULEV spec by its black valve cover. The regular N52 engines use a silver valve cover.
