+ Option 1 - Stock Replacement

This option is the base set of replacement arms, ball joints, and bushings. These are direct replacement pieces that are no different than the parts that came on the car originally. If you want the same ride and handling characteristics as when the car was straight off the showroom, this is the best package for you to buy. Simply install your new parts, have an alignment done, and you're on your way!

The Meyle HD arms and bushings are also a direct replacement for the original arms but feature stronger, more durable components. The Meyle HD outer ball joint is much larger and a higher-grade steel than the factory spec. The larger ball joint will last longer and the dust boot is stronger as well to keep out moisture and gritty contaminants. The inner HD bushing is a solid rubber piece instead of the fluid-filled stock bushings. The problem with the stock hydraulic bushings is that the fluid leaks out over time and the leftover rubber is not resilient enough to maintain control. The Meyle HD bushing is all rubber and will last significantly longer. It's also stiffer and deflects less to give a more sporty and crisp handling, and sharper steering. All alignment specs remain as per factory.

The M3 control arm upgrade is for people who want a very serious change in the ride/handling of the car. These are the factory E90/E92/E93 M3 upper control arms so the ride will not be much different than a standard M3. But it is a very large jump compared to the stock E9X arms and bushings. These are a direct replacement to the original arms and do not require any modification to install and will not change the alignment settings. For the best results, we recommend only using these with the M3 lower control arms (wishbones).

M3 Front Upper+Lower Control Arm Upgrade - Left and Right - E82, E9X (more info)

The front upper and lower control arms from the E9X M3 are a direct bolt-in replacement upgrade for the stock parts on the non-M E90/E91/E92/E93 3-series and E82/E88 1-series. With the M3 components the fluid-filled bushings of the standard suspension are replaced with solid rubber cores or a sealed monoball-joint, making the suspension stiffer, more responsive, and longer lasting.

This package includes:

M3 front upper control arms (thrust arm, tension strut) (31102283575 and 31102283576)
The upper control arms eliminate the fluid-filled stock bushing which is very prone to leaking the fluid and cease being effective. The solid rubber M3 bushing is also a bit stiffer for more precise steering and control.

M3 front upper inner bushings (31102283579)

M3 front lower control arms (wishbone) (31102283577 and 31102283578)
The M3 lower control arm has a sealed inner bearing instead of the rubber-isolated stock bushing. The bearing allows the lower arm to rotate freely instead of binding up. It's also a bit longer and curved slightly to give more negative camber (adds .75 of negative camber).

M3 headlight adjusting rod (37142283867)
Replaces the stock rod on cars with adaptive headlights.

With the added negative camber the steering is sharper and understeer is reduced. And the stiffer bushings and bearings deflect less which also improves steering feel and response. Since all of these parts are from the M3 there is no question on quality or longevity; no doubt as to their effectiveness or reputation. There's almost no downside to this upgrade. These are intended for street cars but even lightly tracked cars will see significant benefits to the handling and response.

M3 Rear Guide Rod Upgrade - Left and Right - E82, E9x (more info)

These M3 rear guide rod arms are an upgrade for the non-M cars. The stock non-M arms are made from sheetmetal spot welded together at the ends. The arm tends to flex and bend under even moderate cornering loads. Factor in gripper tires and more torque and this arm is inadequate for stability and consistent handling. Strut Tower Reinforcement Plates (Pair) - E82 E90 E92 E93 (more info)

Help preserve the structural integrity of your BMW E82 1-series, or E90, E91, E92, or E93 3-series with these weld-in strut tower reinforcement plates. Deformation of the front upper strut tower has been common problem, especially in race-prepped cars, cars with lowered suspensions, any car that sees track use, or BMWs driven on rough roads. The strut tower deforms from suspension bottoming out, forces generated by the spring/shock assembly, and that forced concentrated in a relatively small area on the strut tower. The strut tower will exhibit deforming by cracking (especially around the stud holes), or "mushrooming" where the tower takes on a dome-shaped top instead of being flat. By thickening the sheetmetal material of the tower, you are making it stronger and more robust to prevent deformation. While the E82 and E9x cars are newer and better made than the previous E36 and E46 cars, any suspension modification or track use will make the new cars more susceptible to this problem.

These are mounted on the underside of the strut tower and need to be welded into place.

Electronic Damper Control (EDC) from BMW reduces variations in wheel load, ensures tires have excellent traction and counteracts bodyshell movement regardless of the weight your automobile may be carrying – and regardless of the state of the road’s surface. EDC can even help shorten braking distances, meaning you enjoy outstanding comfort along with the best in BMW on-road safety. Sensitive sensors constantly monitor all factors influencing the vehicle’s behavior and occupants’ comfort, including road conditions, load changes and vehicle speed. In a fraction of a second, the signals are analyzed by the EDC microprocessor and orders are sent to the actuators on the shock absorbers, which, with the help of magnetic valves, are variably adjusted to provide optimal suspension.

For those wanting to move away from EDC for aftermarket suspension systems or coilover setups, the EDC monitoring can be a bit obtrusive as this type of monitoring is no longer required – resulting in numerous error messages thinking the system has malfunctioned. This EDC Emulation Module installs in less than 15 minutes and will fully emulate a fully active EDC environment when activated. Module can be activated/deactivated by via the integrated mini USB port within the module housing.

These are the stock replacement front control arm bushings (FCAB) for the E82 1M and E9X M3 models. These solid rubber bushings replace the inner bushing on the front upper control arm, also known as the thrust arm or tension stut (it's the arm with the outer ball joint pointing down). These are the OEM bushings with a metal sleeve insert for precise but comfortable steering feel and response. A direct replacement for the E90/E92/E93 M3 and E82 1M.

This can also be used as an upgrade on non-M (and non-Xi) 3-series and 1-series chassis. The solid rubber of the M3 is a better and longer-lasting bushing than the fluid-filled stock E90 bushing. These M3 bushings are a bit stiffer than the original design so the steering and handling will be sharper while maintaining M3-levels of ride comfort.

The strut mounts (or guide support) locate the front strut to the chassis of the car. They are a very durable rubber meant to absorb vibration and imapcts from bumps, potholes, etc. There is also a bearing inside that allows the strut shaft to turn independent of the rest of the suspension. Therefore, the front strut mount is a very critical piece on the front suspension. These mounts generally last 80,000 miles or more but it would be a good idea to change them with every strut replacement.

Front Upper Strut/Shock Mount - Left or Right - E9X M3 (more info)

On the 2008-up E9X M3 the front strut is held in place by this mount or 'guide support'. The mount not only locates the strut to the body of the car, it also contains bearings that allow the strut to move with the steering and travel of the suspension. It's rubber isolated to minimize vibrations and annoying road impacts from reaching the driver.

The problem that we have seen is that the rubber will wear out over time, and will no longer dampen the vibrations and harshness when contacting a bump or pothole. The driver will often feel that the car does not steer as accurately and the ride is harsher. The bearings inside can also wear out, especially when dirt and sand get into the grease. Replacement will keep the steering sharp, and noise, vibration, and harshness from spreading through the chassis. It's also a good idea to replace these any time a new strut or coil over kit is going on the car.

If you're installing a rear shock on your E90 or E92 that utilizes a Spherical Bearing or Rod-End, common in racing shocks/dampers, this is one of the rear mounts needed to attach your shock to the camber arm (this is the LOWER mount). The E82 and E90/E92 subframes have an inherent weakness in the rear subframe - the mounts are too soft for the power and torque these cars are capable of. The subframe is the heart of a BMW's rear suspension. As torque is transmitted through the differential and axles and as the tires grip the road, the subframe mounts are working to keeping everything in line. That's a tough task to hold when torque is increased with bigger boost (335i) or even mild tweaks (M3). While the M3 subframe mounts are a great upgrade for the non-M chassis these factory BMW Motorsport subframe mounts go one step further.

These Motorsport/Group N rear subframe bushings are a direct replacement upgrade over the stock mounts. They are rubber to conform to the rules of the Group N racing class - so they are still acceptable for street use as long as extra ride harshness can be tolerated. The rear subframe has to come down from the car for these mounts to be pressed in. So now is the perfect time to do other work as well - check out our other Motorsport Race bushings or M3 upgrades.

Rear Subframe Bushings/Mounts - Set - Stock M3 Rubber - E82, E9X (more info)

The subframe is the heart of a BMW's rear suspension. Nearly all of the suspension arms and bushings mount to the chassis through the subframe. So as the suspension deflects forces from the tires, the subframe eventually absorbs them all. Preventing too much deflection and twist in the subframe will keep your handling and alignment consistent. The stock E82 and E90/E92 rear sub-frame mounts are very soft so putting more torque through the car results in a soft or loose (squirrely) feeling in the rear suspension. This set of mounts is from the M3 and are much stiffer.

These M3 rear subframe bushings are a direct replacement upgrade over the stock mounts. The rear subframe has to come down from the car for these mounts to be pressed in. So now is the perfect time to do other work as well. The time and effort needed to replace them is well worth it, especially on high-horsepower cars (tuned N54, N55, etc).

The stock E93 M3 front 28mm swaybar can be used on all of the other E90/E92 and E82 cars as an upgrade to reduce bodyroll, improve handling, and get quicker turn-in. This is a direct upgrade for all E82/E88/E9X (not xi AWD) when used with the bar, bushings, and hardware.

The front anti-roll bar is one of the keys to improving handling feel for the E82 and E9X. The larger bar is stiffer, which helps control the front tires and keep them in contact with the road. The front tires will bite harder into the turn, giving you more front grip. You'll see improved turn-in response, less understeer, and less body roll. This is one the best street suspension upgrades you can make for the E82/E9X cars. And there's almost no change in ride comfort or noise. Installation is simple for the front sway bar and takes about one hour.

With the wide range of suspensions and sway bars available today adjustable sway bar links can help you with many problems. Turner Motorsport Custom Length Adjustable Front Sway Bar End Links (Pair) (more info)

Our renowned TMS adjustable front sway bar / swaybar links for BMWs are now available in custom lengths, making them easy to order for any aftermarket or custom suspension setups. Simply measure for your ideal link length, and order the links with the best length range (below). Each sway bar link has a 10mm diameter mounting pin/stud, which is the typical factory/stock size for a universal fitment. These are sold by the pair, and each set includes two matching sway bar end links.

These end links offer the quiet operation and long life of "stock" BMW end links, but with the strength and adjustability of rod-end style sway bar links. These sway bar links can be used on a wide variety of BMWs and aftermarket BMW suspensions. When measuring, please consider that the length ranges of our Custom Adjustable end links are measured from the center to center on the end link mounting stud / pin, as shown in our diagram.

Front Wheel Bearing with Hub - E60 M5, E63 M6, E82 1M, E9X M3 (more info)

This is the direct replacement wheel bearing and hub assembly to fit the front of the E60 M5, E63 M6, E82 1M, and E90/E92 M3. We sell the OE BMW or OEM F.A.G. bearing so you get the highest quality part available. This is the hub with the bearing and it bolts to the carrier (new hardware is recommended, see below).

Replace your wheel bearings when you hear groaning or rumbling sounds from the front. These sounds increase in frequency as speed increases and will get louder as you turn the wheel (and put load on the worn side). Failing wheel bearings can also attribute to annoying 'pad knockback' on the track.

Wheel Bearing Locking Clirclip - E30 E36 E46 E9X and more (more info)
