After years of using spacers on street cars and race cars, we decided it was about time to start from scratch and engineer a spacer with all of the features and tricks that we always wanted. These are the spacers to end all wheel spacers, incorporating not only years of racing ingenuity, but also the experience of our skilled service technicians. Here is why the Turner Motorsport spacers are designed to be the best wheel spacers on the market:

Spacers need to be removed from time to time, and it's not uncommon for them to become stuck to the hub of the car. Nowhere is this more common than the four seasons of New England (where we are located), where rust makes removing anything a nightmare. Most companies tell you to use a hammer and chisel to beat the spacer off. All this does is distort the spacer which, in turn, may lead to a vibration. This latest spacer design incorporates pockets around the entire circumference of the spacer. These pockets allow you to easily pop the spacer off with a flat blade screwdriver without damaging it.
We start with very strong and lightweight high-grade aluminum with a strong resistance to corrosion. We go the extra step and have our spacers coated with a military-spec hard-coat for extreme corrosion prevention and with a dark gray color to blend in with your wheel and brake package for best appearance.
All Turner Spacers are CNC machined to very tight machining tolerances to save weight while not affecting strength. Our spacers are engineered and manufactured to preserve ride quality, last a long time, and enhance your BMW's handling and looks.
We laser engrave each wheel spacer with it's size for fast identification.

Why does every BMW need wheel spacers?

Appearance. This pushes the wheels out wider for a better looking, more aggressive stance and look. Every stock BMW must meet strict German TUV compliance, which mandates extra fender gap. On a stock car with stock wheels, we've found you can use up to a 15mm spacer (that's a lot of space!) For best fit and appearance, we always recommend measuring to find the size that is ideal for your BMW.

Clearance & Correction. Many wheels are not a direct fit with big brake kits or coilover suspensions. A wheel spacer helps by moving the wheel away from the caliper, wheel spokes, or suspension that is causing the clearance issue. If your wheels have the wrong offset (too high an offset, causing the wheels to be too far inward) a set of wheel spacers can correct this by pushing the wheel out to the correct offset.

Handling. By adding wheel spacers, you are widening the overall "track" (or width) of your BMW. A wider track improves cornering, increases stability and safety.

M Sport Wheel Emblem (Genuine BMW) 18mm x 10mm (more info)

Macht Schnell – TPMS/RDC Emulation Module for BMW E90 E92 E93 E82 E88 2007+ (more info)

Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) is an electronic system designed to monitor the air pressure inside all the pneumatic tires on all BMWs manufactured since 2006. Within a predetermined pressure level, a RF signal (433mHz) is sent to each of the receivers located in the wheel wells. These systems report an error message to the driver when pressure is low.

Battery-powered Radio Frequency based TPMS have several disadvantages. Batteries eventually become exhausted and represent a maintenance cost to the consumer. Batteries are chemical systems with lifetimes that unfortunately perform very poorly in extreme temperature environments typical of North America and European climates and in aerospace applications. In order to conserve battery life and to conform to various country's communications authority standards for short range radio communications, the power levels of battery powered TPMS are kept very low. As a consequence of these very low power levels, the construction of certain steel belted radial replacement tires and vehicle metallic geometries can block the low power signal transmission paths.

The so-called total cost of ownership for direct systems is much higher than for indirect systems due to battery and wheel changes and broken/damaged parts. Replacement TPMS sensors from your local dealer can be in excess of $300USD/set with the lithium batteries mounted in the sensors with a 5-6 year shelf life. Aftermarket sensors are not generally reliable. For those that have multiple tire sets for the track, this is simply not practical.

This TPMS/RDC Emulation Module installs in less than 15 minutes and will fully emulate a full-pressure TPMS signal. The module can be activated/deactivated by lifting up on the driver’s side window switch for +5 seconds with the key off.

Turner Motorsport Race Lug Nut Open - 19MM 12 X 1.5 (more info)

Turner Motorsport’s five years of endurance competition has taught us many things. One was that not all lug-nuts are made the same. While the standard nuts that we sell are great for daily drivers, HPDE events, and club racing, a beefier and more durable nut was needed for the 3-hour, 6-hour, and 24-hour professional endurance races. During the 24 Hours of Daytona, our tire changers made over 80 tire changes in NASCAR-style pitstops. That kind of abuse from air guns and fast work required the "next level" of lug-nut. These nuts are a high-grade steel with a zinc coating and they incorporate several innovative features -

The wheel-side of the nut has recessed threads so that the nut has to be square to engage the threads. Without the recess, it’s far too easy to start the threads with the nut being crooked.

The head of the nut is rounded to help the socket find its position.

The zinc plating that we use is reasonably durable without being excessive. With too much coating, the chipped and worn coating fragments can end up in the threads, leading to all sorts of trouble. Anyone who has used nuts repeatedly knows that the coating is not going to last forever. The constant abuse from air guns will chip it all away. So why add weight and the potential for disaster with excess coating? We did away with most of the danger from that with a lighter coating that still resists the tough environment of the track.

Wheel Pin Tool for Changing Wheels or Measuring Spacers (more info)

This old-fashioned tool serves a number of purposes - A) It's a must-have for changing wheels. B) It's also useful for mocking a wheel on the hub to measure for spacer thickness. It's inserted into one of the bolt holes by hand and easily slides out when done.

A) This wheel pin (wheel stud) makes changing wheels a snap. When it's pressed into the wheel hub, the new wheel slides right over it and each bolt hole lines up perfectly. No more wrangling with a wheel/tire to get the bolts to line up! When done, slide it out of the wheel and replace it with a wheel bolt.

B) If you're trying to figure out what size spacer to use this tool can make things easier. With the pin pressed in to the hub you can then slide M12 washers over it to mimic the thickness of a spacer. The extra length of this pin allows you to slide the wheel back/forth to set the positon of the wheel. Measure the thickness of your washers and that's your spacer size! For this procedure, it's recommended that you have 2 of these pins so the wheel does not rotate out of position.
