Akrapovic Evolution Titanium Exhaust System - E63 & E64 M6
(more info) The Akrapovic engineers developed a complete exhaust system for the M6. The complete exhaust system behind the exhaust manifold is newly designed in order to optimize the exhaust flow by offering a bigger tube diameter, interference crossover tubes to improve the vibration characteristics of the exhaust, and the elimination of the second set of catalysts. The rear mufflers are now split into 2 separate units. This technique reduces the weight by 24 kg (52.91 lbs) in comparison to the 44 kg for the stock system.
The stock torque curve of the M6 V10 engine has a dip in the area of 5000 rpm. Akrapovic exhaust has the cure as the maximum torque increase of 15 Nm (at 6030 rpm) is exactly within that area. The increase of power by 14 HP comes in at around 4000 rpm. This can be felt considerably and the vehicle feels more dynamic. This system may not meet emissions standards in all states.
