Since 1993 Turner Motorsport has been at the forefront of performance tuning for BMWs. We show this best in our tuned Performance Packages, developed along stages for specific BMW models. Each staged Package is tuned in-house, bringing together expertise from our street tuning division, service shop, and race team. Nearly all of our Packages feature custom-tuned performance software from the best names in the business. The software is the best feature in our kits, maximizing power gains while doing nothing to affect engine reliability or driveability. In most cases, Stages are upgradeable - you can jump from one stage to another by purchasing the new parts and revised software (contact us directly about buying parts outside of the Stage). Or jump right into a higher stage by purchasing the complete kit. We'll work with you to select the appropriate parts and a matching software tune. Nearly all of our Packages have been tested and tuned on our in-house Dynapack Chassis Dyno. Our packages are designed for US-spec models only.

Reduce parasitic loss of power on your BMW's engine by safely under driving the belt driven auxiliary systems. Reducing this drag on your engine results in MORE HORSEPOWER AND TORQUE to the wheels of your BMW. Our BMW underdrive power pulley kits are specifically designed for each BMW application to make the best power while maintaining stock driveability and reliability, eliminating potential downsides. Others may advertise "their" pulleys boasting more power, but we concluded that for street and track driven BMWs, ours are the best size and design to ensure both your engine and it's belt-driven systems (alternator, water pump, power steering etc) are well within safe operation. We run these under drive pulleys on our own BMWs, so we would not want them any other way.

Many times you can boost your mid-high end power with factory BMW parts such as these stock BMW camshafts. In some cases you can bolt these alternate cams into your engine for an instant power boost. BMW itself offered performance cams in some models. We offer upgrades using S50 / S52 cams, ZHP cams, and others that meet factory OE specs.

BMW engines are tuned for top-end power - over 4,500 RPM. If you want to maximize the power available you need to change the camshafts. Schrick is a German performance cam manufacturer renowned for their camshaft tuning and engineering. These are top-of-the-line camshafts from a supplier to some of the world's top automotive brands. AVL-Schrick provides tuning and prototyping to some of the most potent and exclusive performance cars in the world and they have long been the source for BMW performance cams. Installing higher lift/longer duration cams improves engine breathing at higher RPM ranges. By opening the valves faster and for longer periods of time you can let more air in. With the proper fuel and timing you can gain a lot more horsepower. Special tuning and setup is generally required to take advantage of the new dynamics. Schrick cams are direct replacements for the stock cams and usually bolt-in with no additional modification or parts required. In some cases, valvetrain upgrades such as springs and retainers are recommended. Turner Motorsport is a direct Schrick distributor for the North American market. Contact us for all of your Schrick needs!

Prior to the use of the VANOS self-adjusting cam sprockets all BMWs used a fixed cam sprocket/gear and in some cases, performance versions were available to retard or advance timing depending on the need. We offer factory BMW cam gear upgrades as well as our own adjustable units for proper setup and dialing in of intake and exhaust cams.

Your BMW's drive belts are wear items, and will degrade and crack over time. Don't wait until you have a belt failure... don't get stranded! Replacing your BMW's belts, such as the alternator belt, power steering belt, air conditioning AC belt, or serpentine belt is a low cost insurance policy to preventing a break down -- or worse, engine damage. We recommend checking your belts every 10,000 miles. If your belts have excessive cracks, dry rot, missing teeth and/or grooves, are cause noise, it's time for new ones.

While also inspecting your serpentine belts, also check for wear or resistance in the pulleys. The tensioner pulley and deflection pulley are the primary sources for belt squealing. The rubber-isolated pulleys can also break apart, leading to total belt failure. We sell the tensioner and deflection pulleys for the M50 engine family used in the E34, E36, E39, E46, X5, Z3, and Z4.

Gaskets are key to a properly running and clean engine. They obviously prevent fluid leaks but they're also critical in keeping air either in or out... Air leaks after the air flow meter, also known as vaccum leaks, can induce lean running conditions, fault codes, and poor running conditions. Other seals and gaskets are designed to keep air in. With the sensitivity of OBD systems, leaks will lead to fault codes very quickly which can be tough to diagnose and prevent you from passing state inspections.

We insist on Original BMW or OEM gaskets whenever possible.

Electrical gremlins can be very frustrating. Luckily your BMW's electrical system is better than most, even if it's 25 years old. Here you will find electrical relays, sensors, switches, and modules for the engine, camshaft, and crankshaft. Our parts are OEM, Genuine BMW, or approved aftermarket brands that we have an excellent track record with. There is no middle ground with electrical parts - it either works perfectly or not. And there's nothing more frustrating than a new part that fails right out of the box. So it's important to choose quality replacement parts over a cheap but faulty piece.

Your BMW's ignition system is critical for smooth engine operation. This category contains parts used in the BMW ignition system, including spark plugs, ignition coils, spark plug wires and boots, ignition rotors and caps, distributors and distributor caps. On most 1991 and later model BMWs, your car has what's known as a coil-on-plug system, where each cylinder has its own ignition coil that sits directly atop the spark plug (so you won't have spark plug wires on those BMWs.) A fresh set of spark plugs is an essential part of any BMW engine tune up.

The BMW VANOS system (variable Nockenwellensteuerung - variable camshaft timing) was introduced in the early 1990s as a way of altering timing based on RPM and engine load to improve torque delivery, fuel economy, and engine smoothness. The first systems were single-VANOS and operated the intake cam only. Beginning in 1999, double-VANOS was introduced that did both intake and exhaust banks (on both inline-6 and V8 engines).

By 150,000 miles the original VANOS actuator solenoids, seals, and o-rings are usually due for a complete replacement. Some individual pieces may have been replaced already. Signs of a dying unit are loud marble-like rattles from the front of the engine, loss of power and mid-range torque, poor fuel economy, and fault codes for misfires and VANOS-related sensors. VANOS sensors, solenoids, and some other parts are available separately. VANOS units can be rebuilt by sourcing the seals and o-rings on their own but that process still requires expert mechanical knowledge and special tools. We prefer to offer complete, rebuilt VANOS units to make the replacement as seamless and trouble-free as possible for you.

Note: all VANOS systems require special tools for correct repair and replacement. These tools are BMW specific. If you do not possess these tools we strongly advise you to bring the parts to a qualified and experienced BMW technician who does.

When maintained, your BMW's cooling system should be bulletproof. The weakest link on any BMW model is likely to be the water pump, thermostat, or electrical parts on the newer models. BMW water pumps have gone through many design and material changes over the years in an effort to make the cooling system more efficient and reduce parasitic drag on the engine. The water pumps we sell are the latest and best designs that BMW and OEM suppliers can produce. Whenever possible we prefer to sell a water pump with a composite impeller, not metal. The latest BMW designs use a composite impeller that is far lighter than metal and much stronger than plastic. Metal impeller pumps are typically heavier and may have bearing problems that lead to premature leaks. Plastic pumps were infamous in the mid-1990s for disintegrating. The composite impellers have proven themselves for over a decade as a trouble-free and efficient design and many of the OEM suppliers are also introducing updated composite designs for older models too.

We sell only OEM Behr, Original BMW, or approved aftermarket upgrade radiators for your BMW. It seems BMW took some shortcuts when it came to radiator design and used too many weak materials like plastic for critical connections. The core and sizing of the radiators are generally sufficient for the intended application but problems can occur at hose connections, upper or lower necks, and plastic end tanks. The radiators we sell are all OEM designs to keep the quality high. In some cases the OEM has made design improvements to prevent past issues. There are a number of non-OEM replacement radiators that use even cheaper materials and poor workmanship which only leads to more problems. On some models we offer OEM alternatives that perform as upgrades to the original designs and we also offer full race all-aluminum radiator upgrades that solve all of the issues with plastic radiators.

Rubber cooling hoses become dry and crack over time which leads to coolant leaks from the ends of the hose. Hoses should be inspected as part of a yearly evaluation of your cooling system. Caring for the rubber will prolong the life of the hose. Our replacement hoses are a direct fit in place of the stock hoses. We also sell OE-type hose clamps that are superior to the auto store generic versions.

BMW cooling fans are one of two types - engine mounted mechanical and full electric (not driven by the engine). As the fan spins it draws air from the front of the car, pulls it through the radiator (where the air cools the water vanes in the radiator), and then directs the airflow over and around the engine. The faster you drive the car, the faster air is being drawn through the radiator. But at idle or in traffic, and especially warm days, the lack of airflow could lead to overheating if your fan is malfunctioning. The fan should always be spinning fast. A fan that barely spins at all is a sign of a failed fan clutch and should be replaced right away. The clutch is mounted in the fan and can be replaced on its own. The actual fan rarely goes bad unless one of the blades is damaged. Electric fans require a complete replacement if it's not working (the motor cannot be replaced separately).

The condition and state of your oil can make or break your day at the track. Oil is working best during a certain temperature range and when exceeded the protective properties of oil will break down. This is especially critical with older, dirty oil. Newer cars with high underhood temperatures are even more at risk. Aside from frequent oil changes and more capacity the best way to keep healthy oil flowing through your engine vitals is with an oil cooler. We offer track-developed oil cooler kits and other accessories aimed at reducing oil temps or making your current setup work safely and more efficiently. An oil cooler will not make your car faster or handle better. It's simply excellent preventative action to avoid costly troubles in the future.

Keeping the oil near the oil pump is crucial for the system to work correctly. Unfortunately, some BMW models suffer from oil starvation on the track. During cornering, G forces slosh the oil away from the oil pump pickup. Cornering for long periods of time (oval bankings, for instance) can starve the engine of enough oil to lead to catastrophic failure. We offer oil pan baffles that pool enough oil around the pickup that starvation is virtually eliminated. These kits are an absolute MUST for track-driven cars and have been developed and proven over our long motorsports history.
