Looking to add a custom center section to your E30 M3 exhaust? Or installing an S14 engine in another chassis? You're going to need a front flange to meet up to the flange on the header. BMW flanges are typically specific to the vehicle model and the E30 M3 flanges are not shared with any other model. This will leave you in a bind when putting together a custom exhaust. We have designed and built this flange from stainless steel and is a perfect matchup to the flange on the stock S14 header. This flange is designed to be welded to 2" piping in the center section. The OEM gasket rings can be used with it.

This track/racing center exhaust for the E36 325 and E36 M3 replaces the heavy and restrictive stock catalytic converters. On a 1995 M3 this exhaust alone showed gains of almost 20 HP and 15hp on the 1996-1999 M3! It bolts to the stock exhaust manifold or the TMS Shorty Headers without cutting or fabrication. The system features 100% stainless steel materials, a straight through, no restriction resonator, 3" inlet pipe with stock diameter twin tubes, and total bolt-on design using stock type flanges and hanger points. The racing Track Pipe is nearly 30% lighter than the factory cat section! We recommend using this with the Borla cat-back muffler, because of its light weight, great sound, and proven performance gains. Sound quality is refined, not overly loud.
This exhaust includes a single oxygen sensor port for OBD-1 models. For an OBD-2 E36 M3, the use of oxygen sensor simulators is required to keep the Check Engine Light off (optional add-on below). Note: while this track pipe will fit the E36 328i/is, the O2 simulators will not keep the Check Engine Light off.

This factory midpipe for the E82 135i/1M is a sound enhancement when used on the twin-turbo N54 models. This N55 midpipe does not have the secondary catalytic converters in place. Instead there are straight pipes leading to the resonator. This makes the exhaust louder and with more of a burble and rumble. It's a great first upgrade to make the N54 engine a bit louder and more aggressive! The problem with a turbo exhaust is that the turbo manifold and piping will dampen the sound and make the engine harder to hear. This can be a problem on the track when you want other drivers to be able to hear you. This center section will restore some of that lost volume and open up the N54 engine. With less backpressure the turbos can spool up faster which will make a modest power improvement.
This is the factory BMW N55 midpipe. It's a direct fit to either the N54 or N55 engined cars with all of the correct bends and crimps to fit the E82 or E88 chassis. But it will only change the sound characteristics for cars with the N54 engine. The N54 and N55 use the same exhaust gaskets, rings, and hangers.

One of the first things we noticed when we got our E90 M3 back in 2008 was the exhaust restriction caused by the placement of the front cats. For space considerations, the factory exhaust setup is crimped in an odd way and the cats are a high cell count. Both combine to rob horsepower. It seemed logical to us that replacing the first set of cats with a set of straight pipes would really open up the breathing and make serious horsepower. Our M3 Test Pipes were designed specifically for race/track use and offer a cost-effective means of removing the very restrictive primary cats. On the Turner M3 and BMW Motorsport M3 GT4 racecars the primary cats and restrictive piping is eliminated.
