BMW H&R Performance Springs

The E36M3 is very sensitive to ride height in the rear - not so much for performance but for looks. Sometimes with "regular" sport springs the rear of the M3 can look too "high" or too "low" - depending on wheels and even depending on the weight of aftermarket stereo equipment. This is a great solution - our kit allows you to "tune" the height of the rear of your car. This kit has a fixed front drop of 1.5". The rear ride height is adjustable from 1.0" - 1.75". Kit includes four sport springs, rear ride height adjusters, and a special lubricant for the adjusters.

After thousands of street and track miles in our own 2008 M3 sedan project car (the white car pictured), we loved the way the "standard" H&R Sport Springs felt on both the street and track. Since the ride was so compliant on the street (even with 20" wheels), we felt some M3 owners might want to sacrifice some of the street ride quality for an even firmer spring rate that would handle even BETTER on the track. We asked, and H&R delivered -- and the H&R Sport PLUS springs for the E9x M3 were the answer. The same "ideal" ride height with a more aggressive spring rate that is still tolerable on the street (though not as forgiving as the standard H&R Sport springs) and more at home on the track.

Minimally stiffer than H&R Sport Springs, the Super Sport springs provide a very aggressive lowering while still maintaining good ride comfort. Shocks designed for lowered cars and suspension geometry correction is strongly recommended with these springs.

These "J-Stock" racing springs were the class-leader in the days of the popular J-Stock class of BMW CCA Club Racing but we have been using them in almost every E30 racecar. These were originally modeled after BMW Motorsport's spring set for Group N racing in Europe. Now made by H&R we have spec'd these springs in a progressive rate in the front up to 680lbs and the rear up to 1026lbs. This makes them over twice as stiff as H&R's own racing springs and a better match for true racecars used for club racing, time trials, autocross, and more. We set the handling balance for the full "J-Stock" suspension to have a very slight tendency to understeer based on feedback from our fastest customers. These lower a stock E30 M3 by 1.5" and 1.25" (front/rear).

Although you can buy these springs as only a set, we strongly recommend installing only with our special Bilstein shocks at the same time.

Special Race spring set for the MINI Cooper S (R53). Developed with German spring specialist H&R, these springs are modeled after regular sport springs but are built with a stiffer rate. These springs were originally deisgned for use in the SCCA T3 racing class, where coil overs were not permitted. Therefore a very stiff spring in the stock location is required.
