    Carbon Fiber Trunk Lids

    		 E90 Carbon Fiber Trunk Lid - Fits 2006-2008 E90 Sedans
    This CSL inspired trunk lid, made by Carbon Fiber specialist Carbon8, fits all 2006, 2007 and 2008 E90 3 series sedans (pre-facelift) and saves precious weight over the heavy steel stock BMW trunk lid. It also looks great, especially if you are into the naked carbon fiber look. This particular trunk lid's styling has a slightly swept up rear edge, reminiscent of the E46 M3 CSL -- which also had a carbon fiber trunk lid with an integral "spoiler" edge built into it.

    We were pleasantly surprised by the fit and finish of this trunk lid, particularly at this price. The trunk lid fits as good as any other carbon fiber lid we've come accross. Some modifications and provisions need to be made to fit all trunk auxiliary components, such as lighting, trunk latch, hood shocks, emblems and interior trunk trim -- which is why we highly recommend professional installation on these (even if you're not having it painted). As with any carbon fiber or fiberglass body panel, extra time and preparation will be required to ensure the best fitment and installation. While no aftermarket body panels fit as perfectly as original OEM BMW panels, we were very satisfied with the overall quality and fit of these trunk lids. If you are mounting it unpainted to keep the carbon fiber visble, this trunk lid already comes with a clear gelcoat finish so that it is already exactly how you'd want it.

    Professional installation highly recommended.

    Hawk HP Plus brake pads are the closest thing to having a true "dual-purpose" brake pad. This unique compound has excellent low-temp friction for driving on the street while also holding up well for rigorous track driving and autocross use. This pad is perfect for the driver who wants to add track pads at home, drive to the track, and drive home.

    Note on using this pad on the street: while the HP Plus pads stop well enough at low temperatures, they will have significant levels of brake dust, higher noise levels, and will be abrasive to the rotor. Extra care, cleaning, and maintenance is required when using these pads on the street.

    The goal.
    While producing a "short" shifter, our more important goal in improving the BMW shifter assembly is to increase the precision and smoothness of the overall operation.

    The problem.
    One significant wear area that has never been addressed previously is the wear and ovalization of the linkage connection points at the transmission and the shifter's lower pivot.

    In the original BMW design, the connection at both ends has a large injection-molded plastic bushing. We already know how badly plastic wears in an automotive application, and these areas are not an exception. The design of the selector rod has a pin at 90° to the main rod, which exerts a tremendous amount of leveraged force on the selector joint bushing from one side (known as a single shear force). The result is a steady deformation of the bushing, resulting in looseness and slop in the entire mechanism. (see photo at right) The image shows a selector joint that has approximately 25K miles of use.

    The looseness and slop are magnified by the leverage-multiplication effect of the shift lever itself. The result is an in-gear shifter "free play" of 3/4" and up to 1" in either direction, over 35mm total.

    The cure.
    A temporary fix is to simply replace the selector joint. Unfortunately, this is only a temporary fix as the new joint's bushing will exhibit the same rapid deformation. To permanently fix this, a change in the fundamental design of the pivot is required, changing the assembly to a double shear system with the UUC Double Shear Selector Rod (DSSR).

    The DSSR redistributes the torsional forces from the pin/bushing interface to the complete face area on both sides of the selector joint. By taking advantage of the strength of steel in the DSSR and the body of the joint, the problem of deformation is eliminated and the movement of the selector rod correlates directly to movement of the selector joint - the only "free play" movement remaining in the shifter assembly is from within the transmission itself. In-gear "free play" is reduced to approximately 10mm total when used with a UUC EVO3 shifter.

    The original BMW shifter and all other aftermarket shifters (except UUC which uses deformation-free bearings) contain a plastic bushing similar to the selector joint, and the exact same wear and ovalization causes those shifters to get sloppy. The DSSR permanently fixes these shifters also. The DSSR is compatible with all brand shifters, whether original BMW or other-brand aftermarket. When used with the original BMW shifter or other aftermarket shifters, the amount of "free play" will be greatly reduced but varies by shifter (flexation of the shifter shaft contributes to the total "free play" travel).

    This rod fits ONLY the 2008, 2009, 2010 and newer E9x M3, including E90 M3 sedan, E92 M3 coupe and E93 M3 convertible.

    The Akrapovic Evolution Exhaust System for BMW M3 consists of flow optimized link pipes with 2 x 100 cpsi sports catalysts and integrated resonators as well as a completely newly developed and now split-end mufflers. This exhaust system, made fully from titanium, reduces the overall weight when compared to the stock system by about 23 kg (50 lbs).

    Akrapovic E92 DynoThe Akrapovic Evolution Exhaust System for BMW M3 consists of 2 completely newly developed and now split-end mufflers. This exhaust system, made fully from titanium, reduces the overall weight when compared to the stock system by about 14 kg (30.8 lbs).

    The power increase is about 5 HP. The torque is nearly constant at 3,6 Nm over the stock. That is the real joy of driving: high speed engine benefits in daily practice due to the torque increase. It improves the agility in the lower rpm-range noticeably. Also, the engine is stronger in the higher rpm-range and the elasticity is improved considerably. The improvement of acoustics played an important role in the development. These pipes were designed specifically for race/track use, and offer a cost-effective means of removing the very restrictive catalytic converters on all 2008+ E90/E92 M3. They allow you to make two single cuts to your stock midpipe section, removing the catalytic converters, and clamping the largest diameter straight pipe in their place using the provided high-end/premium exhaust clamps. This eliminates the largest source of exhaust restriction, unleashing AMAZING power gains and a very obvious improvement in acceleration. (Dyno chart shown is with Cat Delete + Stage II Software). Another benefit of these Test Pipes, versus other options, is that they retains as much of your stock system as possible, keeping noise levels tame enough for even the most stringent sound limitations found at many track events (nearly stock sound levels).

    We have done extensive dyno testing on several E9x M3s, starting with our own Project E90 M3, developing a custom tuned Stage 2 Race software specifically for the cat-delete. When these Test Pipes are combined with our Stage II (Race) software, these make 40hp @ 8000 rpm and 32 lb/ft @ 3000rpm. It's required for custom exhaust systems, and is also useful for air/fuel ratio measurements when dyno testing. A threaded plug is included to cap off when not in use.        Install Tips
    • Locate bung as close to engine a possible, without exceeding the maximum operating temperature for the O2 sensor. The suggested location is just down-stream of the merge-collector on each bank of cylinders.
    • Sensors located after upstream exhaust system leaks or too close to exhaust outlets are susceptible to poor readings or influence of ambient air
    • O2 Sensors exposed to exhaust gasses with too high amount of un-burnt fuel can lead to misleading readings. A possible lean reading.
    • Locate sensor/bung 90° to exhaust gas stream.
    • Locate sensor/bung in tube with a minimum of 10° up angel to prevent liquid build up in sensor element.
    • Use stainless steel welding wire or rod when installing bung.
    • Do not have bung plug or a oxygen sensor installed when welding bung in place.
    • Welding can distort the bung so it is recommended you chase/tap the threads of the bung after welding.
    • When installing O2 sensor or plug, use an O2 sensor compatible high temperature resistant grease on the threads.
    • Use tightening torque suggested by O2 senor manufacturer.

    		 No-Toil Foam Filter Oil (for ITG Filters)
    Don't use harsh solvents like gasoline to clean your ITG on your Eurosport/Conforti intake kit (or similar foam filter element). This product is all you need to maintain your ITG foam filter, and is recommend for use with all Conforti Cold-Air Intake Kits.

    When cleaning an ITG foam filter, ITG recommends using warm water and a mild detergent (simple dish soap is fine). Strong detergents and solvents can harm the foam, and cause the filter to break down. Once dirt, dust and debris are rinsed out of the filter, it should be re-oiled to ensure proper function of the filter. ITG recommends No-Toil filter oil, as it is safe to the foam filter media, and is completely waterproof. Drive with more peace of mind through heavy rain and puddles.

    		 E9x BMW Performance 'Rennsport' Steering Wheel
    This is the coolest steering wheel we have ever seen from BMW. Hardcore racing drivers and enthusiasts will recognize right away the features of this wheel are intended for maximum control, feel, and function during spirited driving.

    This is a factory BMW Performance wheel that we have dubbed the 'Rennsport' wheel. This is the basic wheel behind the famous Performance wheel but without the data display, shift lights, and other doo-dads. It's been reduced to the simplest form by BMW's motorsport-oriented engineers to be a functional element in the driving experience and not only a place to rest your hands.

    This wheel is covered in alcantara suede with white stitching. It's the same thickness and shape as the factory M3 wheel. The bottom section of the rim has been flattened to allow more thigh room and a better grip when making turns of the wheel past 90 degrees. Flat bottom wheels can be found on the world's highest-performing cars and it's the first time we have seen BMW offer this style as a factory accessory. A reference mark on the top of the rim indicates top dead center of the steering. This mark is common on rally cars and drift cars to let the driver know when the steering wheel is back straight-ahead, without having to look away from the road.

    This wheel replaces the sport or M3 steering wheel. It re-uses the stock sport wheel airbag or M3 airbag (not included) and the stock sport wheel cover or M3 wheel cover (not included, see below for options). Photo above shows this wheel assembled with airbag and cover (not included). It works with manual transmission cars only.

The US cars came equipped with the bulbs in the taillights and the bulb in the instrument cluster. All you need is the switch! Simply replace your stock US headlight switch with the Euro Headlight switch and VOILA -- working rear fog lights! This installs in a half hour or less, and is a direct swap for the stock/US headlight switch. This is a factory BMW part and works just like a Euro car, even the icon in the instrument cluster lights up. Only works on cars with Xenon/HID headlights, foglights, and rain sensor.
