This software is a major refinement of the stock software. It makes the car much easier to drive with less hesitation, more torque, and incredibly smooth operation. A lot of tuning has been done at the low RPM ranges to improve response. The car won’t hesitate or lag, making the car easier to drive. And with the extra torque you can drive in a higher gear and not have to downshift as often. Theoretically this means better fuel mileage too!

How does it work? The Shark Injector makes changes to the stock BMW software in the areas of fuel enrichment, transition fueling, camshaft timing, ignition timing, and VANOS control to take full advantage of 91+ octane fuel. BMW ‘de-tuned’ cars for the North American market in the event inferior fuel was used. We reverse those changes to gain more horsepower and torque. 91 or higher octane fuel must be used.

How does it install? The Shark Injector plugs into your car’s On Board Diagnostic (OBD) port, located under the dashboard in most cars. At the push of a button the Injector begins communicating with your car’s computer. The Shark handles everything from that point on – reading and copying the stock software, re-loading its own performance version, and checking its work along the way. TMS Performance Engine Software represents the most cost-effective approach to increasing engine performance. It has been dyno-tested to provide a safe increase in power by altering fuel enrichment, cam timing and ignition timing specifically for use with premium gasoline. TMS Performance Engine Software also provides an increase in the factory rev-limit allowing for optimum shift points for maximum acceleration. Not only do we re-map part-throttle fuel and spark, we also re-map other areas of chips other tuners don't touch - such as acceleration enrichment, transition fueling (how the car responds to rapid change in pedal, and VANOS control as needed to optimize the vehicle for operation on premium fuel. It takes advantage of premium fuels from 91 AKI to 95 AKI and higher. There is no need for separate octane related variants with this software!

Sprint Booster Drive-by-Wire Enhancement Module for 2001+ BMW
When BMW began using the "Drive-by-wire" throttle system in 2001, a lot of people cringed. The Drive-by-wire system uses electronics to replace the mechanical cable throttle of the past. This means the electronics between the accelerator pedal and motorized throttle must interpret what your right foot does, and ultimately decides how the engine will respond. Although advanced in it's technology and engineering, many of us agree that the Drive-by-Wire equipped BMWs feel unresponsive and lack the crisp, sharp throttle response that older BMWs had with a traditional throttle cable. That's where the Sprint Booster comes in.

The Sprint Booster is an in-line "plug and play" module, that remaps the Drive-by-Wire throttle curve to be much quicker than stock programming. It removes the "lag" or delay that exists in the stock electronic mapping. The result is sharper, quicker throttle response and immediate power delivery. We found the difference to be NIGHT AND DAY, and were instantly smitten by the snappier feel the Sprint Booster gave to both a stock BMW as well as on a modified BMW. What's more - the Sprint Booster installs in just a few minutes at the back of the gas pedal. Simply release pedal from the pedal base by unlocking the locking tab, pull the pedal up/foward, unplug the harness, and plug in Sprint Booster. Here's an example of how simple the install is --
installation on an E46 3 series.

How does it work? The Sprint Booster listens to the pedal input signal, and sends an improved signal to the ETC (electronic throttle control) which has been amplified or "boosted", so that the throttle is more responsive throughout the entire rpm range.

On most BMW applications, you even get your choice on how aggressive you want the throttle mapping to be (select your BMW/option below). The more aggressive the Sprint Booster, the snappier the throttle. If you're worried about the modified throttle being TOO sensitive (snappy or twitchy), then we recommend going with the least aggressive option, where available. (Automatic transmission cars are only available in one sensitivity level.)
