These replacement grilles are made from ABS plastic with a carbon fiber weave on the exterior frame. Carbon fiber is replacing chrome and aluminum as the most desired decorative trim. Since it has its roots in aerospace and motorsports the look gives off the impression of cutting-edge technology and lightness. But our suppliers have improved the fit and finish of carbon�s inherently rough appearance. There are several quality grades to carbon fiber weave and we would put this right in the middle. It�s a good quality carbon weave without costing hundreds more like an Original BMW carbon part would. We inspect each grille for finish imperfections and quality issues so you�re getting only the ones we approve. If you want to complete the carbon fiber makeover on your car check out our other carbon grilles, emblems, trim, and spoilers. Replace the ordinary chrome side grills on your E46 M3 with cool carbon fiber! These directly replace the standard grills, are easy to install and include the Genuine BMW "M" logo. There isn't much chrome to speak of on the 2001-2006 E46 M3, so it makes one wonder why BMW even used chrome for the fender grills (and hood grills). The factory bumpers have a cheap plastic mesh do very little to protect the radiator. AAF's E46 Alum Mesh Grill will give you leaps and bounds more protection against rocks and any other debris on the racetrack that can cause a punctured radiator. The aluminum mesh is lightweight and resilient. This part installs in minutes, and is one of the easiest and important upgrades you can do to your E46 race car. Kit comes with all hardware needed to secure this mesh to your front bumper.
