As the purpose of a Cold Air Intake is to draw in cooler, denser air by blocking hot air from the engine, this kit’s engineering starts with the materials.

Heat Shield – While other intake kits use sheetmetal or aluminum to shield the filter from hot air, the Eurosport kit is designed with a composite material that is very resistant to heat. The shield is made from e-glassfiber, and has a heat transfer coefficient 100 times lower than aluminum! Why use metal to block heat? The composite shield is also very light and stiff. The entire intake kit weighs less than 6lbs, including the filter – compared to close to 20lbs for some other intake kits!

Intake Tube – For the same reasons as on the heat shield, the intake tube between the filter and the air flow sensor is made from carbon fiber. The carbon fiber is strong, light weight, and is compression molded for an exact fit and excellent air flow. It also looks cool (pun intended).
