RACE VERSION Performance Software for E39 M5
This Shark Injector software has been specifically designed for cars running with headers but no cats. The software "turns down" the reading from the O2 sensor and modifies the tolerances for the EGT sensor. It also includes special programming to prevent Secondary Air pump codes. The Race version is especially useful for a track-only / raced M5 where the car does not need to meet emissions requirements. Because this part deletes the BMW emissions equipment, a Smog Waiver must be signed and on file at TMS before parts can be shipped.

The tuning of this software gets some of the same features as our standard "street" version Shark Injector performance software: Increased rev limit to 7425 (up from 7000 stock), remapped part-throttle fuel and spark, acceleration enrichment, transistion fueling (how the car responds to rapid change in pedal), and VANOS control as needed to optimize the vehicle for operation on premium fuel (91+ octane).

This race version performance software works best with the SuperSprint Header System (part# 786801).

Options:
Octane - choose from a 91 or 93 minimum octane
Throttle Sensitivity - Choose from the Euro or Shark Enhanced programming for the throttle settings. With the Shark Enhanced option, the throttle in both normal and Sport Mode becomes much quicker and more sensitive. The Euro setting uses a throttle map from the Euro M5 which is much smoother than the current US throttle settings. Throttle opening in relation to pedal position is smoother and more linear in non-Sport and especially in Sport Mode. Shark Enhanced will make everything quicker still but if you find the M5 is difficult to drive smoothly or "launch", then the Euro throttle map may be best for you. Note: the Euro setting is also known as the "M5Board Tune".
