    Part of maintaining the precision and crisp handling of your BMW is with refreshing the shock mounts from time to time. The rubber parts that mount the front struts and rear shocks to the chassis suffer from age and mileage just like any other rubber part on the car. Over time they become weak and sloppy and that leads to poor ride characteristics, alignment issues, poor steering feedback and the associated clunks and other noises.

    This set of stock mounts replaces the original worn-out shock mounts, bushings, bearings, bump stops, and pads on your existing suspension. We have built this package specifically for use with an aftermarket performance suspension such as our Bilstein/H&R package or other similar performance shocks and springs. This makes a great package when upgrading the non-sport package as the original standard mounts and bushings were not designed for the sport/performance suspension. Installing new mounts with new struts and shocks will ensure proper performance and avoid doing the labor twice if a used mount fails soon after. These are all factory BMW or OEM parts so they fit right and perform just like the factory original parts.

    Included in our E39 mount kit is:
  • front strut bearing dust cap
  • front strut mount
  • front upper cupped washer (lower dust cap)
  • flat washer
  • front upper spring plate
  • front upper spring pad
  • front lower spring pad
  • rear upper cupped washer
  • rear shock mount
  • rear upper spring pad
  • rear lower cupped washer
  • rear bump stop
  • rear lower spring pad note: front bump stops are not included in this package because our Bilstein/H&R suspension includes its own internal bump stops

    Note for 1997-1999 528i, 540i: BMW had a factory recall to replace the front struts and lower spring perches on pre-2000 528i and 540i models. The lower spring perch was redesigned to be stronger and our mount kits cover front struts that have already been replaced under this recall. If yours has not been done we strongly recommend contacting your BMW dealer and having the recall and replacement parts installed. This does not apply to most aftermarket struts, including Bilstein, as their spring perch incorporates the new design.
