OEM Lemforder Front Inner Ball Joint - Right - E46 325xi, 330xi

This is a replacement LEFT/DRIVER front inner ball joint, as found on all 2001 to 2005 BMW E46 325xi and 330xi. These are a common failure item, and we recommend replacing these in pairs (be sure to buy a right side as well). These should also be replaced when installing new control arms.

Rear Shock Mounts (RSM) - Heavy-Duty - E30, E36, E46, Z3, Z4 (Single) This is a BMW shock mount, originally used on the E30 convertible models. Why E30? Because we have tried them all and the E30 cabrio mounts seem to hold up the best. However, all OEM rubber shock mounts will fail - it's just a matter of time. They'll even fail with a stock suspension but even quicker with modified suspensions. These E30 mounts are a little better than the originals. For even greater strength upgrade to the 'Repair Shop' or the aluminum mounts. Priced per mount.

Rear Control Arm Upper Inner Bushing - Turner Race Monoball - E36/E46/X3/Z4 Made in the USA TMS rear subframe bearings are designed to limit rear control arm movement relative to the subframe. The stock BMW subframe bushings are made out of rubber, which allows variance in suspension position due to deformation and compression. A race car needs to have all suspension points remain in place for proper setup. By using high grade aircraft aluminum alloy and high performance race bearings, the TMS bushing replacements are both lightweight and strong. The casing is designed so that if maximum motion occurs, the load will be evenly distributed throughout the casing. Our flanges are designed to spread the load on the subframe and limit movement. The bearing we use is an extra wide race bearing to distribute the load over a broader area. Each piece is anodized or nickel plated to withstand corrosion. These bushings are a perfect compliment to the TMS lower camber arms.

Lemforder Rear Trailing Arm Bushings (RTAB) - OEM Rubber - E36, E46, Z4 (Pair) If you're experiencing a "loose" feeling when going around corners, these are the likely culprit. The rear bushings on these cars will wear out just like any other bushing. When this happens, the rear toe (the angle that the tire points in or out) will vary under load. These M3 bushings are more durable than the stock bushings and hold up better than the original bushings. These rear trailing arm bushings (often referred to as RTAB) are listed as the replacement to BMW part numbers  33322228153  and  33-32-2-228-153 .

This is the most up to date version of this bushing from Lemfoerder. We recommend professional installation as these now require special tools for installation.

Rear Differential Mounts - Turner Solid Aluminum - E46 M3 Made in the USA For our Grand-Am Cup E46 M3s we wanted a fully solid differential mount setup. The advantages of a fully-solid aluminum set is that they last forever, quickens response in the suspension, and frees up horsepower to the wheels. These fully solid aluminum diff mounts are CNC machined and lightened for a direct replacement of the original rubber pieces.

By substituting aluminum for rubber we can take out all of the deflection and 'wind up' inherent to the original rubber pieces. The high deflection rate of the stock rubber means the suspension reacts slower as the bushing is compressed. The power used to compress that bushing is instead passed straight to the axles and wheels. And since there is no time lost to deflection, response is greatly improved. These diff mounts are only recommended for racecars since the aluminum transfers more noise and vibration.

This is a 3-piece set with a single front bushing and two rear bushings to press into the cover. They mount with the stock BMW hardware.

These are stock replacement control arm bushings for all 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004 and 2005 325xi & 330xi, the all-wheel-drive model E46 chassis 3 series. These are a common failure item on all 325xi and 330xi, and a new set will reduce many front end alignment and steering feel issues. This is a pair (2 bushings)

E36, E46, Z4 Turner Motorsport Camber Arm Reinforcement Kit Made in the USA If you haven't already upgraded to Adjustable Camber Arms , your stock rear lower wishbones are letting your down. The stock rear camber arm/wishbone is designed to be flexible and weak. In an impact, it's designed to bend or even break to absorb energy and prevent damage to other more vital components. This is great on a regular street car. But on a track car, or heavily modified street car, these arms can bend just from cornering forces and that can introduce radical camber changes that will throw off the balance and handling of the car. This reinforcement solves all of that by tying the two sections of the arm together. This creates a single solid arm with minimal flex in the arm itself. 3-series Rear Suspension Mount Package - Solid Race Bushings - E46 M3 Rear Suspension Mounts With No Flex or Deflection for Improved Handling, Response, and Long Life
Building a track-only or racecar means swapping out the flexible rubber bushings and mounts for non-distorting solid pieces. The stock rubber bushings have serious drawbacks when used hard on the racetrack - they wear out quickly, and the flexible material allows extreme changes in alignment. Switching to solid bushings will eliminate the deflection and flex, keeping the suspension motions in their intended alignment and providing more feedback to the driver. On the E46 M3, solid bushings can help prevent rear subframe failure as the sheetmetal chassis will no longer flex along with the rubber mount. Depending on the bushing's intended purpose, the material we use is either aluminum or Delrin. Delrin is a dense plastic material that has almost zero deflection and long life. It's self-lubricating so it won't ever need grease or lube. All of our bushings are designed by our in-house R&D engineers and tested on our various racing cars, with many used in professional racing series around the world.

If you're building a car for a racing class, the parts and materials you can change to are specified in the rules. Consult your rulebook or tech steward for any clarification. As these bushings have no play or deflection in them, they are not intended for street-focused cars - they do not absorb impacts and vibration like rubber will.

Note 3: the outer upper and lower bushings are already a monoball-style bearing from the factory on all M3 models. They are a great design and last a long time. We offer them here as direct replacements.

Want a race-spec rear shock mount but with the comfort of a factory bushing? This ECS rear shock mount combines the precision and articulation of a spherical bearing with the isolation of urethane bushings. The stainless monoball bearing is lined with PTFE lubricant and suspended in 80A urethane and housed in a hard anodized 6061-T6 aluminum mount. The spherical bearing is a better design than most rear shock mounts because it allows the shock to move and tilt without side-loading the shock shaft (which leads to premature failure of the shock). Most Genuine BMW and aftermarket shock mounts are not designed for shock angles and the stress that track or performance driving will put on the shock shaft. The ECS shock mount is properly designed to handle these loads. The internal bearing is also replaceable - it will be years before you have to replace the entire mount. The ECS mount is fully encapsulated to prevent the common shock mount failure of the stock mount design.

Front Control Arm Bushings (FCAB) - Urethane Street - E46 M3 (Pair)

Factory bushings are more than adequate for street driving on the E46 M3. However, once the miles start to pile up, the bushings are meant to be replaced. Common side effects of worn factory FCABs include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Steering wheel shutter when brakes are applied
  • Wheel (and steering wheel) shimmy
  • Mysterious and irregular tire wear
  • "Overboosted" steering feel (very light steering)

Replacing with new factory bushings will return the factory feel. These urethane core bushings, however, offer something MORE. These bushings are designed to deliver performance that surpasses the stock E46 M3 bushing, while still allowing them to be used in everyday driving scenarios on public roads.

With the numerous delrin/urethane/hybrid replacement bushings in the market, we wanted to offer bushings that were not only effective, but simple. No clips, no washers, no multiple sleeves, and no "race parts in street cars". They have an aluminum outer sleeve with a replaceable, compliant urethane core that is serviceable and rebuildable. These urethane inserts prevent unwanted control arm deflection, while allowing noise/vibration/harshness (NVH) isolation -- a must on any bushing being used on a street driven car. And because of their compliance they remain very comfortable for daily use. Front Control Arm Bushings (FCAB) - Delrin Solid Race - E46 M3 (Pair) The performance of the front suspension depends almost entirely on this one bushing. The BMW front control arm mounts to the chassis with this bushing at the back. If the original rubber has worn it will have a major impact on the alignment, steering, and braking. This is why race teams like ours ditch the factory rubber and put something more solid in its place. The car will be more responsive due to less deflection and the bushings will last longer. Turner Motorsport Rear Trailing Arm Bushing Limiter Kit (RTAB Shim Kit)

Turner Motorsport Bushing Limiters were the first - and still the best - RTAB Limiter on the market. Instead of a 'floating' design that can rattle and wear, our aluminum Limiters are fixed in place and feature an anti-stick Teflon coating so the bushing never sticks and squeaks.

The great defect in the rear trailing arm bushing (RTAB) is that the soft rubber design allows too much movement and extension during cornering. The bushing is not strong enough to resist hard cornering loads. A stiffer bushing helps but has trade-offs in ride and comfort. If you want to maintain your ride comfort with rubber bushings, these RTAB Limiters will prolong their life and improve handling.

These Limiters sit on either side of the bushing and limit its movement. By limiting motion the bushing effectively becomes stiffer, improving handling and reducing toe change during cornering. When not cornering, the Limiters are not in play so ride comfort remains the same as stock. Our Limiters are permanently bolted to the housing that surrounds the bushing. Other types of Limiters 'float' between the bushing and housing, which can rattle and squeak as the bushings move. Instead of plastic or Delrin that will wear over time, our RTAB Limiters are made from aluminum with a tough hardcoat anodize (tougher than standard anodizing) and finished with a Teflon anti-stick coating.

Replacement Bushings for Rear Shock Tower Mounts The bushings in the Aluminum Rear Shock Tower Mounts (#JTD909) and the Repair Shop Rear Shock Mounts (#JRDRP) are replacable. OEM Lemforder Front Control Arm Bushings Pair - E46, Z4 (not M models)

OEM Lemforder front control arm bushings as used on the E46 325i, 330i, and Z4 and an upgrade for the E46 323i and 328i. These are the upgraded 66mm bushings used to eliminate vibrations in the early E46 front suspension. The front control arm bushings are a key piece of the suspension. They are constantly in motion and take abuse from impacts, potholes, rough roads, and general cornering/wheel motions. To give a quiet and smooth ride, the bushings are made of compliant rubber. But the rubber can only withstand so much abuse before they become loose and spongy. This results in vibrations and possibly a shimmy when driving. A visual inspection will usually confirm that there is too much flex in the rubber or the rubber has cracked and torn. And if you're installing new control arms, always install new bushings to avoid duplicating labor costs.

These bushings come pre-pressed into their aluminum brackets. No need to press out old and press in new bushings! Just a simple swap! Price is for the pair.

Rear Subframe Bushings/Mount Set - Rubber - E46 M3, Z4 M Any subframe work or reinforcement project on the rear of the E46 M3 should include a new set of subframe mounts. It's the worn rubber bushings that contribute to failed rear subframes on the E46 (but not the only reason). As the rubber gets worn, there is more flex to the mount. This flexing is then transferred to the sheetmetal in the floor where the spot welds will pop and the sheetmetal will crack. Additional force coming from stiffer suspensions and stickier tires will only increase the flexing of the mounts/chassis.

Of course, stiffer mounts would help prevent this problem but with a stiffer bushing comes ride harshness, vibration, and additional noise. Our engineers and technicians recommend replacement with the factory rubber bushings (along with the appropriate reinforcement of the floor). The rubber bushings help isolate bumps and impacts and are quiet. They are also a perfect fitment and require no maintenance.

Rear Subframe Bushings/Mount Set - Turner Solid Delrin/Aluminum - E46, E46 M3 Made in the USA The rear subframe is the heart of the BMW rear suspension. Not only do all of the suspension arms attach to it, the driveline runs through it via the differential and half-shafts. Therefore, a track-prepped E46 should never see any flex or deflection in any of the subframe mounts. Excessive movement here transfers to unwanted suspension motions elsewhere and is also a major contributor to failures in the rear floor sheetmetal.

The rubber stock mounts flex and deflect as various forces are applied throughout the subframe - on and off throttle loading, cornering on flat surfaces, bumpy surfaces, weight transfer, sticky race tires, etc. Too much flex from worn rubber mounts will transfer to flex where the subframe meets the chassis/floor. This is the primary cause for the infamous rear subframe failure. Solid mounts like these have almost zero flex to them so they will not contribute to rear subframe issues. The Turner E46 Reinforcement Kit is still recommended.

These solid subframe mounts were designed for racing use only, where we won several sports car championships in the Grand-Am Cup series. These subframe mounts are over-engineered to be a major improvement over the stock subframe mounts not only for performance but also in strength as well. We use a Delrin casing as the primary bushing in the subframe. CNC machined aluminum sleeves are then pressed into the bushings. The sleeves have larger surface area with integrated washers to provide a more secure fit for holding the subframe in position. One front bushing is slotted to allow for BMW's manufacturing tolerances. Professional and experienced installation is required.

Rear Differential Mounts - Turner Solid Aluminum - E46/SE46, X3, Z4 When you're building a track-only car you want the hardest bushing material allowed under your class rules (or no rules at all). These aluminum differential mounts are as solid as you can get and will eliminate any deflection as the differential transmits torque and moves with the suspension.

Our Delrin/Aluminum kit meets the requirements for certain racing series. But these full aluminum diff bushings go one step further to give you the best response, longest life, and most feedback of any other material. These diff mounts are only recommended for racecars since the aluminum transfers more noise and vibration.

3-series Rear Suspension Mount Package - Rubber Street Bushings - E46 M3

This package allows you to build your own rear bushing package to cover the parts you want to replace. As these cars age, they require a number of suspension bushings to be replaced. Bushing replacement not only keeps the car in its top form, it also makes the car safer. Depending on the work, it may be logical to replace all of the bushings in the rear suspension (there are 19 total). This is especially true if you are pulling the subframe out to do the floor reinforcement or if you're doing a diff install. Turner Motorsport is a big believer in using rubber bushings for street cars (with the exception of solid subframe mounts, see further below). Urethanes, Delrin, or aluminum are generally good for reducing compliance and limiting deflection - attributes that don't really work well on roads filled with potholes, railroad crossings, cracks, and expansion joints. The rubber bushings maintain the factory ride/handling traits that won the M3 praise all over the world. Every bushing will need maintenance or replacement at some point and rubber has proven to last the longest and need less maintenance than anything else, even urethane. And unless competitive driving is your goal, the harder materials are only a gimmick.

Any major overhaul of the rear suspension should include new subframe mounts. The worn rubber mounts contribute to rear subframe-floor failure when the deflection in the mount is transferred to the chassis. Rubber mounts are only OK for street cars that don't see aggressive driving, autocross, or track use. For any enthusiastic driving, we strongly recommend our solid aluminum subframe mounts even on the street. They have zero deflection and will not contribute to rear floor failures. And if you leave rubber in the rest of the suspension your ride comfort will not suffer.

Individual Item Descriptions:

  • Trailing Arm Bushings and Limiters (33322228153 and TSU9990001) - our OEM rubber replacement trailing arm bushings (RTABs) are a perfect fit and help maintain rear toe alignment. The Limiters prevent premature bushing wear.
  • Rear Inner Control Arm Bushings (upper 33321092247 and lower 33326770824) - new stock inner rubber bushings for the upper spring arm and the lower camber arm. These do not wear out very quickly but should be replaced as a 'While you're in there...' job.
  • Rear Outer Control Arm Bushings (upper and lower) (33326775551) - new stock outer ball joints for the upper spring arm and the lower camber arm. These are the standard ball joint design and last a very long time. Check for play with a pry bar and replace as needed.
  • Rear Shock Mounts - Choose from several types of RSM upgrades. If your mounts have not been replaced in the last 40,000 miles, now is the perfect time. Skip this option if you recently replaced mounts or already have an upgraded mount.
  • Differential mounts (33172282484 and 33112282482) - Now is a great time to replace the front rubber-isolated mount. This is another low-wear mount but it can be changed easily, and is a low cost item. The rear mounts are in the aluminum differential cover and BMW only sells them with it. Solid diff mounts are streetable with only a minimal increase in NVH.
  • Rear subframe mounts (33312283573, 33312283574, and 33312283419 x 2) - The heart of the rear suspension, the subframe (or carrier) mounts located the entire rear suspension to the car. There are four mounts in total and bolt up into the rear floor. Worn subframe mounts are one of the leading contributors to rear floor-subframe failure. As the mounts flex, so does the sheetmetal of the chassis, which will fatigue the sheetmetal and crack the spot welds. Therefore, replacement of the subframe mounts is critical and a must when doing the subframe reinforcement or repair. Solid aluminum mounts are streetable with no increase in NVH.

Front Upper Strut/Shock Mount - Right - E46 M3 2001-2006 The upper strut mount provides a locating point for the top of the front struts. It contains a rubber-isolated bearing that allows the strut shaft to move independently from the rest of the suspension - a critical component for the suspension to be quiet and effective. Rear Differential Mounts - OEM/Meyle HD Rubber - E46, X3, Z4 These rubber bushings from Meyle are a direct replacement for the stock differential bushings in the E46 3-series, E83 X3 SAV, and Z4 Roadster. If your original bushings are worn (likely around 100,000 miles) these are a great replacement upgrade. The front bushings are the stock OEM type rubber bushings. The rear bushing is a Meyle HD upgrade over stock - about 15% stiffer than the originals. This means the bushing will not flex and twist as much. This puts more power to the wheels since power is no longer used up for 'torquing' the bushing. These are not race bushings; the rubber material is perfectly suitable for street use.

The non-M E46/E83/Z4 models use three differential mounts - two front bushings in the subframe and one rear mount in the diff cover. This set of bushings covers all three. You can opt to include new mounting hardware in the Options list below.

Rear Trailing Arm Bushings (RTAB) - Meyle HD Rubber - E36, E46, Z4 (Pair) The rear trailing arm bushings (RTABs) control the toe alignment of the rear suspension. When they go bad, the rear traction suffers because the wheel's toe angle is moving excessively in and out during cornering. This can make the car feel nervous and 'tail happy' even during modest cornering speeds. As important as these bushings are, they only seem to last 40-50,000 miles on their own.

These German-made Meyle bushings are about 20% stiffer than the originals. The harder rubber allows less compliance which gives better feedback and crisper handling. All Meyle HD parts are warranted for 4 years. It's a performance upgrade with no downside.

Any RTAB would benefit from our Bushing Limiters. These spacer shims fit on either side of the bushing and limit excess rotation. It's this over-extending of the bushing that causes them to wear out so fast. The Limiters will prolong the life of the bushing and are an easy install when performing the bushing replacement.

3-series Strut/Shock Mount Kit - E46 325Xi/330Xi

If you're replacing the struts and shocks on your 325Xi or 330Xi you should also pick up this mount package. As these cars have gotten older, their rubber mounts have deteroriated. If your shocks have gone bad then chances are very good that the mounts need replacing too. The rubber bushings are designed to isolate the chassis from bumps, potholes, and poor roads and give a harsh-free ride and precise handling. But they won't last forever. These mounts and pads are the perfect complement to your new shocks to help restore your car's handling and performance.

This mount package contains all of the commonly replaced rubber mounts and pads for the front and rear shocks on a 1999-2006 E46 325Xi and 330Xi AWD. These are easily installed - there's no additional labor, time, or effort and special tools are not required.

Rear Differential Mounts - Turner Solid Delrin/Aluminum - E46, X3, Z4 Made in the USA These Turner Motorsport solid differential mounts were designed for our championship-winning Grand-Am E46 330s and they are legal in most racing classes where a fully solid aluminum mount is not allowed. To prevent bushing deflection, these E46 diff bushings use Delrin with an aluminum insert. Rear Spring Pad - priced each - 15mm BMW used three different spring pads in the E36 E46 3 series, each a different thickness, the thinnest being only 5mm. Rear Shock Mounts (RSM) - Turner Motorsport Race Monoball - E30, E36, E46, Z3, Z4 (Pair) Made in the USA Want the Ultimate design in a rear shock tower mount? You've found it. These rear shock mounts are designed for use on the track and racing. This set of mounts will help your rear shocks perform the best they can in those conditions. The advantage to using a mount with spherical bearing is that it allows the shock to freely move off axis without side loading the shock shaft like rubber or polyurethane mounts do. Side loading a shock increases stiction and wear which decreases its efficiency. Because these are mounts without an isolator (rubber or polyurethane) to dampen road noise and vibrations we do not recommend them for street cars. These were designed in-house and developed for our own track and race cars.

These TMS bearing mounts include both 10mm and 12mm stainless steel bearing sleeves to work with a wide variety of shock shaft pins. The pin is the upper-most portion of the shock where it passes through the mount. If you need a bearing sleeve size other then 10mm or 12mm please contact us.

    Front Upper Spring Perch With Radial Bearing - E38, E39, E46 M3, E60 M5 If you are removing or changing the front struts or springs or replacing the upper strut mount, NOW is the perfect time to replace this upper spring perch. BMW calls it a "upper spring pocket with axial cage bearing". It's really the upper spring plate with the radial bearing set sandwiched between two plastic collars. The bearing is there to allow the spring to rotate a little before going into a bind. If there are popping noises coming from the front strut it's probably because this bearing set is worn or missing. The bearing insert is a common wear item becoming noisy, gritty, or will just fail completely. You won't feel that they're bad from driving the car but you may hear clunking or popping sounds from the front struts. You can replace the rubber mounts on the car but don't leave this part out! It may be just as worn and you won't want to put them back in the car. These are sold individually, so be sure to get two for your car.

    The radial bearing set is used in some of our camber plate designs. It's compact, light weight, easy to replace, and inexpensive. It's an excellent alternative to pricey and obscure ball bearing sets found in other camber plates.

    OEM Lemforder Front Control Arm Bushing - Left Side - E46 M3

    The front control arm bushings are a key piece of the suspension. They are constantly in motion and take abuse from impacts, potholes, rough roads, and general cornering/wheel motions. To give a quiet and smooth ride, the bushings are made of rubber with a metal sleeve insert. But the rubber can only withstand so much abuse before they become loose and spongy. This results in vibrations and possibly a shimmy when driving. A visual inspection will usually confirm that there is too much flex in the rubber or the rubber has cracked and torn. And if you're installing new control arms, always install new bushings to avoid duplicating labor costs.

    E46 Rear Suspension Bushing Overhaul Package

    This package allows you to build your own rear bushing package to cover the parts you want to replace. As these cars age, they require a number of suspension bushings to be replaced. Bushing replacement not only keeps the car in its top form, it also makes the car safer. Depending on the work, it may be logical to replace all of the bushings in the rear suspension (there are 19 total). This is especially true if you are pulling the subframe out to do the floor reinforcement or if you're doing a diff install. Turner Motorsport is a big believer in using rubber bushings for street cars (with the exception of solid subframe mounts, see further below). Urethanes, Delrin, or aluminum are generally good for reducing compliance and limiting deflection - attributes that don't really work well on roads filled with potholes, railroad crossings, cracks, and expansion joints. The rubber bushings maintain the factory ride/handling traits that won the E46 praise all over the world. Every bushing will need maintenance or replacement at some point and rubber has proven to last the longest and need less maintenance than anything else, even urethane. And unless competitive driving is your goal, the harder materials are only a gimmick.

    Any major overhaul of the rear suspension should include new subframe mounts. The worn rubber mounts contribute to rear subframe-floor failure when the deflection in the mount is transferred to the chassis. Rubber mounts are only OK for street cars that don't see aggressive driving, autocross, or track use. For any enthusiastic driving, we strongly recommend our solid aluminum subframe mounts even on the street. They have zero deflection and will not contribute to rear floor failures. And if you leave rubber in the rest of the suspension your ride comfort will not suffer.

    Individual Item Descriptions:

    • Trailing Arm Bushings and Limiters (33322228153 and TSU9990001) - our OEM rubber replacement trailing arm bushings (RTABs) are a perfect fit and help maintain rear toe alignment. The Limiters prevent premature bushing wear.
    • Rear Inner Control Arm Bushings (upper 33321092247 and lower 33326770824) - new stock inner rubber bushings for the upper spring arm and the lower camber arm. These do not wear out very quickly but should be replaced as a 'While you're in there...' job.
    • Rear Outer Control Arm Bushings (upper and lower) (33326775551) - new stock outer ball joints for the upper spring arm and the lower camber arm. These are the standard ball joint design and last a very long time. Check for play with a pry bar and replace as needed.
    • Rear Shock Mounts - Choose from several types of RSM upgrades. If your mounts have not been replaced in the last 40,000 miles, now is the perfect time. Skip this option if you recently replaced mounts or already have an upgraded mount.
    • Differential mounts (33176770788 and 33176751808) - Now is a great time to replace the rubber-isolated mounts. This is another low-wear mount but it can be changed easily, and is a low cost item. Solid diff mounts are streetable with only a minimal increase in NVH.
    • Rear subframe mounts (33316770783, 33316770784, 33316770781 x 2) - The heart of the rear suspension, the subframe (or carrier) mounts located the entire rear suspension to the car. There are four mounts in total and bolt up into the rear floor. Worn subframe mounts are one of the leading contributors to rear floor-subframe failure. As the mounts flex, so does the sheetmetal of the chassis, which will fatigue the sheetmetal and crack the spot welds. Therefore, replacement of the subframe mounts is critical and a must when doing the subframe reinforcement or repair. Solid aluminum mounts are streetable with no increase in NVH.

    Rear Trailing Arm Bushings (RTAB) - Delrin Race - E36, E46, Z4 (Pair) Made in the USA These Rear Trailing Arm Bushings (RTABs) are designed for specific racing classes where more solid or bearing-style bushings are not allowed. Delrin is a very hard plastic material with almost zero deflection and also lasts a lot longer than using any type of rubber or urethane bushing. Since there is less wasted motion with a solid bushing, the suspension can react faster and give you more feedback. The rear alignment stays in check during hard cornering, braking, and acceleration. You will corner faster and be able to get the power down earlier at corner exit with increased confidence.

    Delrin is a near solid bushing that does not absorb or dampen vibration or impact harshness. Therefore, we only recommend these for track-spec cars or street cars and drivers with more tolerance for noise, vibration, and harshness.

    These are a direct replacement for the factory bushings. Special installation tools are required but Delrin does not need long-term care or maintenance. Price is for the pair.

    Rear Shock Mount (RSM) - OEM Standard - E36, E36, E46, Z3, Z4 Single This are the factory standard rear shock mount used on E36 cars. They can also be used on all other E30, E46, Z3, and Z4 models, including M cars. These mounts are a low-cost replacement mount with the same original design as the stock mounts for your car. As a replacement mount they function the exact same as the originals. The original design has proven to be problematic in the past, especially on lowered cars or with cars that see a lot of track use. If you're modifying the suspension for stiffness or lowering, or plan to autocross or track your car we very strongly recommend a different shock mount ( such as the HP Aluminum/Rubber mounts, listed here ).     Solid Aluminum or Delrin Bushings To Reduce Flex For Better Handling
    Building a track-only or racecar means swapping out the flexible rubber bushings and mounts for non-distorting solid pieces. The stock rubber bushings have serious drawbacks when used hard on the racetrack - they wear out quickly, and the flexible material allows extreme changes in alignment. Switching to solid bushings will eliminate the deflection and flex, keeping the suspension motions in their intended alignment and providing more feedback to the driver. On the E46, solid bushings can help prevent rear subframe failure as the sheetmetal chassis will no longer flex along with the rubber mount. Depending on the bushing's intended purpose, the material we use is either aluminum or Delrin. Delrin is a dense plastic material that has almost zero deflection and long life. It's self-lubricating so it won't ever need grease or lube. All of our bushings are designed by our in-house R&D engineers and tested on our various racing cars, with many used in professional racing series around the world.

    If you're building a car for a racing class, the parts and materials you can change to are specified in the rules. Consult your rulebook or tech steward for any clarification. As these bushings have no play or deflection in them, they are not intended for street-focused cars - they do not absorb impacts and vibration like rubber will.

    Note 3: the outer upper bushings are already a monoball-style bearing from the factory. They are a great design and last a long time. The same bushing can be installed in the outer lower point as an upgrade.

    Front Control Arm Bushings (FCAB) - Delrin Solid Race - E46 (Not M3) (Pair) The performance of the front suspension depends almost entirely on this one bushing. The BMW front control arm mounts to the chassis with this bushing at the back. If the original rubber has worn it will have a major impact on the alignment, steering, and braking. This is why race teams like ours ditch the factory rubber and put something more solid in its place. The car will be more responsive due to less deflection and the bushing will last longer (virtually no wear). These Delrin bushings use an aluminum sleeve and are nearly solid to conform to many racing series rules, including SpecE46 and the Grand Am Cup series that we won back-to-back championships in.

    Rear Trailing Arm Bushings (RTAB) - Turner Monoball Race - E36, E46, Z4 (Pair) Made in the USA Our Monoball Rear Trailing Arm Bushings are the best solution for completely elimination deflection and unwanted toe changes on the rear of the E36, E46, and Z4. While rubber and urethane bushings flex during load, the toe can change widely giving you nervous and unpredictable handling. These RTABs have a solid aluminum housing with a high-quality race bearing. These bushings were developed over years of competition use in various racing and HPDE events. There is simply no better RTAB unless your racing class rules prohibit the use of mono or spherical bearings.

    The rear trailing arm bushings take a lot of abuse from acclerating, braking and cornering. The stock rubber bushings are just not up to the task of keeping rear wheel alignment in spec for very long, especially if you have upgraded to stickier tires and a better suspension. The pliable rubber flexes and twists which slows down reaction time and leaves you with a car that feels nervous and 'tail happy'. Urethane helps to control the alignment but issues with fitment, maintenance, and longevity keep us from recommending urethane on anything but a street car. We also offer a Delrin RTAB for cars that must conform to certain racing class rules. These aluminum spherical bearings are the best at controlling rear toe alignment.

    Our aluminum RTABs are very well made - high grade aluminum alloy and steel CNC'd out of a billet by an ISO 9001 certified manufacturer, each component is either hardcoated or nickel plated. The bearing is extra wide to accept higher loads and is replacable for a nominal cost. While multiple manufacturer’s offer two piece designs, our research showed that a one piece bushing is a better design.

    Because solid bushings transmit more noise, vibration, and harshness we do not recommend their use on any street car. These are sold for race or track-prepped cars only.

    Rear Subframe Bushings/Mount Set - Turner Solid Aluminum - E46/E46 M3, Z4/Z4 M Made in the USA The rear subframe is the heart of the BMW rear suspension. Not only do all of the suspension arms attach to it, the driveline runs through it via the differential and half-shafts. Therefore, a track-prepped E46 should never see any flex or deflection in any of the subframe mounts. Excessive movement here transfers to unwanted suspension motions elsewhere and is also a major contributor to failures in the rear floor sheetmetal.

    While our Delrin-Aluminum subframe mounts conform to various racing series these all-aluminum mounts are the ultimate in reducing flex and deflection. The rubber stock mounts, and the Delrin mounts to a small degree, flex and deflect as various forces are applied throughout the subframe - on and off throttle loading, cornering on flat surfaces, bumpy surfaces, weight transfer, sticky race tires, etc. Too much flex from worn rubber mounts will transfer to flex where the subframe meets the chassis/floor. This is the primary cause for the infamous rear subframe failure. These fully solid aluminum mounts have absolutely zero flex to them so they will not contribute to rear subframe issues. The Turner E46 Reinforcement Kit is still recommended.

    These solid subframe mounts were designed for racing use only, where we won several sports car championships in the Grand-Am Cup series. These subframe mounts are over-engineered to be a major improvement over the stock subframe mounts not only for performance but also in strength as well. The aluminum is CNC machined for a precise fit and minimal weight. One front bushing is slotted to allow for BMW's manufacturing tolerances. Professional and experienced installation is required.

    3-series Strut/Shock Mount Kit - E46 M3 One of the secrets of the M3's acclaimed handling is its suspension bushings and mounts. That's why you absolutely cannot overlook replacing the rubber mounts when installing new struts and shocks. Since these pieces are mostly rubber, they dry up and crack over time. Re-using them lead to problems with fitment or noise, and may have safety issues as well. These mounts and pads are the perfect complement to your new shocks to help restore your car's handling and performance.

    This mount package contains all of the commonly replaced rubber mounts and pads for the front and rear shocks on a 2001-2006 E46 M3 (incl CSL model). These are the direct replacement pieces - there's no additional labor, time, or effort and special tools are not required.

    The basic E46 M3 mount package includes:

    The front control arm bushings are a key piece of the suspension. They are constantly in motion and take abuse from impacts, potholes, rough roads, and general cornering/wheel motions. To give a quiet and smooth ride, the bushings are made of rubber with a metal sleeve insert. But the rubber can only withstand so much abuse before they become loose and spongy. This results in vibrations and possibly a shimmy when driving. A visual inspection will usually confirm that there is too much flex in the rubber or the rubber has cracked and torn. And if you're installing new control arms, always install new bushings to avoid duplicating labor costs.

    ECS Rear Trailing Arm Bushing Limiter Set

    The E36/E46 rear trailing arm bushings (RTABs) wear out faster than any other bushing on the car. Worn RTAB will cause excessive toe alignment change and give a 'loose' or 'floaty' feeling in the rear handling. One of the reasons for this is that they over-extend during motion, stretching and twisting the rubber in all directions. These shims sit on either side of the bushing and limit the amount of extension from the bushing. Not only will you get more life from your RTAB but these will help stiffen the bushing during cornering. But during normal driving you will still have all of the comfort of the stock rubber bushings. These part about these bushings is how easy they are to install - simply slide them in place during your bushing install. They can be added to pre-installed bushings too by dropping the trailing arm and removing the cage around the bushing.

    Works with stock rubber bushings only (not urethane or Delrin).

    Front Control Arm Bushings (FCAB) - Meyle HD Rubber - E46, Z4 (not M Models) (Pair) These front control arm bushings are the same design as the original pieces but are 20% stiffer in resistance to give sharper steering and better response. These are the larger 66mm bushings with the housings as used on the E46 325i, 330i, and Z4 and an upgrade for the E46 323i and 328i.

    If you have felt that the original bushings were too soft or the car lacked response then these HD bushings will be a great upgrade for you. The stiffer rubber allows less deflection, making the suspension react faster. You will immediately notice that the car feels more direct and 'connected' and the steering keeps up with you especially during hard cornering. For maximum effect, we also recommend the Meyle HD or BMW 'Sport' control arms as an additional upgrade. Meyle HD parts have a 4-year warranty.

    E46 non-M OEM/HD Rear Subframe Mount Set The heart of the rear suspension, the subframe (or carrier) mounts located the entire rear suspension to the car. There are four mounts in total and bolt up into the rear floor. Worn subframe mounts are one of the leading contributors to rear floor-subframe failure. As the mounts flex, so does the sheetmetal of the chassis, which will fatigue the sheetmetal and crack the spot welds. Therefore, replacement of the subframe mounts is critical and a must when doing the subframe reinforcement or repair. This kit comprises OEM Lemforder and Meyle HD rubber subframe mounts. Solid aluminum mounts are also available with very little increase in NVH.

    OEM Lemforder Rear Outer Upper or Lower Trailing Arm Ball Joint - E36, E46, X3, Z4

    This ball joint is used for the upper rear trailing arm bushing on ALL E36, E46, E83 X3, and E85 Z4 cars. BMW also used it as the lower bushing on most M cars. It makes a great upgrade on all non-M cars where BMW used a rubber bushing at the lower position.

    This sealed ball joint is one of the best things about the rear suspension - it functions extremely well and lasts a long time. And it can be used as a replacement for the existing bushing without any further modification. The non-M cars used a solid rubber bushing for the lower arm (camber arm, wishbone) which does not last very long and relies on bushing deflection (twist) during suspension motions. The ball joint inside the upgraded design is much more effective during this suspension movements as it does not bind or deflect. And because it's sealed with rubber it will last a long time and remain quiet and maintenance free. Most customers report that after installing or "upgrading" to these bushings the rear end of their car felt much more stable.

    Price is per bushing. Left/Right and Upper/Lower are the same part.
