BMW E53 Wheel Bolts, Wheel Studs and Nuts Any time you use a wheel spacer you MUST have a longer wheel bolt or wheel stud to properly fasten the wheel to the hub. We offer extended wheel spacer bolts in silver and black finish in a variety of lengths to fit many spacer sizes. We're up to date on the different thread sizing as well - 12x1.5, 14x1.25, and 14x1.5 so we can supply wheel bolts for just about any BMW or MINI.

Add the spacer thickness to your stock bolt length and that is your ideal extended bolt length. We generally sell bolts by spacer thickness but there may be exceptions. It's always best to measure from the wheel bolt you're currently using. When we list the total length of a bolt it's from the base of the mounting seat to the tip. To be considered safe, a 12x1.5 wheel bolt needs 10mm (6.5 turns) of thread engaged; a 14x1.25 or 14x1.5 bolt needs 12mm (9.0 and 7.5 turns) of engaged thread.

Turbo-Lock Red High-Strength Threadlocker (10ml Bottle) Threadlocker is essential when doing any work to your car, especially prepping it for the track. Loose bolts should never happen! If you are a do-it-youselfer, or do much wrench turning, then you know about threadlocker (generically known as "locktite" or by the brand name Loctite). You also know a little goes a long way. This small bottle of Palm Labs Turbo-Lock red threadlock is perfect for that small job -- or a few small jobs! This tube has 10 mL (0.34 fluid ounces) of high-temp, high-strength threadlocker. This bottle comes with two ways to apply: with a squeeze or with the included brush. There are just too many different uses for this, and no mechanic or DIYer, should be without some in his or her toolbox.

Red or Blue threadlocker? Red is the highest strength so use it when the fastener will not be removed regularly or ever again. The Red will need a great amount of force to break free and maybe even heat. Blue is the medium strength and will break free with hand tools. Use it for fasteners that need extra locking protection but will be removed / disassmebled on a semi-regular basis.

    17mm 14x1.5 Turner Black Zinc-Coated Wheel Nut 17mm black lug nut to fit 14x1.5 thread wheel studs (common for most 2012+ BMWs). This is a super tough wheel stud nut in a standard 17mm size. The black finish is durable, corrosion-resistant, and stealthy so it blends in with dark-colored wheels. BMW designed their wheels to use a black bolt so more of the silver design 'pops' or is more eye-catching. These black wheel nuts preserve that effect. 17mm is the standard BMW bolt head size so you won't have to buy extra sockets. The seat is a standard diameter but may not fit all brands of wheels. BMW changed their wheel bolt specs around 2006 to use a larger diameter bolt with a rare thread pitch. These 14 x 1.50 mm gray spacer bolts are correct for the models listed below and have a 17mm head (same as stock).     Wheel studs are among the safest and most beneficial upgrades you can make on a track car. Not only are wheel studs safer than wheel bolts but they make changing wheels/tires much easier. One of the frustrating things about installing your wheels on the hub is that it's difficult to line up the wheel on the bolt holes. As wheels get larger but also heavier it's even more trouble. Add in a wheel spacer and the task is twice as hard. BMW does produce a wheel alignment pin for this purpose but if you're changing wheels often a stud conversion is the better way to go.

    MSI Racing specializes in hardware for motorsports and other advanced industries and their wheel studs are some of the very best in the professional motorsports world. MSI is already a major supplier to teams in the top NASCAR categories and we tried them on our Grand-Am/IMSA racecars and were very impressed by the performance and durability of their designs. After testing them over the course of a few endurance seasons we decided to offer them to all of our customers as well. These studs are available in multiple lengthsand all sizes are made with aircraft quality material and have roll formed threads. The coating is a dry film lubricant HM-30 coating containing Teflon & Moly over a manganese phosphate finish. This coating process reduces friction and wear to prevent thread galling. Another benefit is that these have the best corrosion resistance we have seen in any wheel stud! A dry lube stud has the most corrosion resistance than a plain black coating because the lube is applied over the black phosphate coating. Salt tests have shown this stud is superior to others in corrosion resistance. Other features of our MSI studs include a large bullet nose nut-starter and a properly sized shank to work with a wider range of BMW wheel, nut, and brake rotor combinations.

    These studs are the perfect choice for endurance racers, sprint racers, track-only cars, or even hardcore street cars. The bullet nose on this stud is deeper than other studs we have used. More of the stud protrudes through the open nut so that everything lines up better on the threads. This helps to eliminate the possibility of cross-threading or thread stripping. In addition, the shank has been machined for proper brake rotor alignment. The dry lube helps the nut engage and glide over the threads for faster pit stops without cross threading or binding.

    Not all wheel studs are created equal. We don't take a manufacturer's generic wheel stud from their catalog and call it our own. Turner Wheel Studs are designed to our own specifications and manufactured for us exclusively. Beware of cheaper studs on the market! We have seen other studs similar to our own designs that are not a true BMW fitment. There are differences that we have ironed out over our years of selling wheel studs for the BMW market. Our stud prices may be slightly higher than the rock bottom prices on the web but we promise that it's a higher quality.
