BMW E92 M3 Transmission Mounts Transmission mounts locate the transmission to the chassis of the car. Nearly all BMW transmission mounts are made of rubber which is great for absorbing vibrations and noise but may not last very long. Oil from a failing transmission seals will also contribute to premature rubber mount wear. Worn out tranny mounts can lead to harder and imprecise shifting and maybe even a dreaded mis-shift. Rubber trans mounts are generally inexpensive so replacing them every few years will not break the bank. We also offer upgraded stiffer rubber or urethane mounts that last longer and deflect less so the transmission stays in its proper place and the shift linkage is not mis-aligned.

E9X M3 Turner Motorsport Racing Delrin/Aluminum Motor and Transmission Mount Set These solid motor and transmission mounts for the E9X M3 last a lot longer than factory rubber mounts and do not bind or 'wind up' as torque is transmitted through them (this means more power is directed through the driveline to the wheels). These mounts were developed over a number of years for our Grand-Am GS-class E92 M3s. This endurance racing format is perfect for developing parts that not only perform but are also durable under the harshest conditions you can expect. For the E9X M3, we tried and tested a number of motor and trans designs before deciding on this one as the strongest and best design under Grand-Am rules (non-metallic material made to the same dimensions as the original part). We use a special solid Delrin material on the motor mounts that is very heat resistant and sandwiched between aluminum mounting layers. This reinforces and gives additional strength to the Delrin and still meets Grand-Am rules for 'non-metallic' mounts. The heat resistance was a must given the close proximity of the M3's V8 headers to the engine mounts. We very strongly recommend using the transmission and engine mounts together as a complete kit. Mixing a rubber mount with a metal mount will cause undue stress on the mounting points and will lead to a failure. We never advise using a solid mount unless a corresponding solid mount is also used.

This is a set of two motor mounts and two transmission mounts. Solid mounting kits should be used for race only applications and only as a matching set.

E9X M3 Turner Motorsport Racing Aluminum Motor and Transmission Mount Set Full solid aluminum mounts are the ideal solution to deflection and wear problems on the E9X M3 motor and transmission mounts. We designed these aluminum mounts at the same time as the CTSCC/Grand-Am-legal Delrin mounts but have even better performance characteristics than those and far superior to any stock or urethane mount. Using experience from our winning days with the E36 and E46 in World Challenge, these full solid motor and transmission mounts have zero deflection and zero wear. Deflection is caused by engine torque twisting, pulling, and pushing on a rubber or urethane mount. This is a big problem because the mount can fail and valuable torque is being wasted in the twisting motion. Since aluminum doesn't deflect at all, the torque is sent through the driveline and the mount will never fail. At the transmission end the flex-free solid mounts will give smoother, crisper shifts since the transmission is no longer dancing on the pliable mount. This puts the shift linkages in better consistent alignment. And unlike rubber or urethane the aluminum has zero wear and is not affected by leaking oil or other fluids so this is likely the last set of motor and transmission mounts you will ever need. We very strongly recommend using the transmission and engine mounts together as a complete kit. Mixing a rubber mount with a metal mount will cause undue stress on the mouting points and will lead to a failure. We never advise using a solid mount unless a corresponding solid mount is also used.

These are a no-compromise design for all-out racing use. Full solid aluminum mounts should not be used on street-driven cars. Because there is no material to absorb vibration these will be quite harsh for regular street use (track cars don't care about noise).
