It's not like other modifications where you may not realize all of its benefits all the time. It's an upgrade that you enjoy at all times when you're behind the wheel. We offer exhaust upgrades from multiple performance manufacturers like Borla, Corsa, Supersprint, and Akrapovic but we have also developed or sourced other exhaust systems to meet specific needs.

One of the first things we noticed when we got our E90 M3 back in 2008 was the exhaust restriction caused by the placement of the front cats. For space considerations, the factory exhaust setup is crimped in an odd way and the cats are a high cell count. Both combine to rob horsepower. It seemed logical to us that replacing the first set of cats with a set of straight pipes would really open up the breathing and make serious horsepower. Our M3 Test Pipes were designed specifically for race/track use and offer a cost-effective means of removing the very restrictive primary cats. On our Turner M3 and BMW Motorsport M3 GT4 racecars the primary cats and restrictive piping is eliminated. Our M3 cat delete pipes were the first on the market and have proven again and again to make big power on their own or especially when paired with our Stage 2 performance software. (click here)

Our Test Pipes are Made in the USA with strict production tolerances and quality control. We manufacture our pipes with high quality, mandrel-bent stainless steel pipes and laser-cut flanges for an optimum fitment. New gaskets are included. For installation, simply measure and cut the stock front pipes and the Turner Test Pipes slide on. The factory secondary cats remain in place. Your original O2 sensors plug into the Turner Test Pipes. There isn't a better 'bang-for-your-buck' upgrade on your M3 than a set of our Test Pipes.

Our Turner M3/M4 Test Pipes delete the secondary cats for more sound and performance. One of the more common complaints about the M3/M4 exhaust is the lack of sound and it's clear why - two turbos, four catalytic converters, a resonator, and a large muffler with electronic flaps all work to dampen exhaust volume. We tried a number of different exhaust layouts but this was our favorite for a moderate increase in volume, "rasp and rattle" eliminated, easy install, low cost, and a power gain as a bonus!

Our M3/M4 front connecting pipes replace the stock section after the downpipes and before the resonator. They bolt to the downpipes with factory gaskets and hardware (will not fit with factory M Performance exhaust). We left the stock resonator in place because we felt removing it was too loud and it did a good job of tuning the exhaust note at certain RPM. With the Turner Test Pipes we got just enough exhaust sound in the cabin without it being obnoxious or intrusive. We especially love the subtle bark this setup gives when letting off the throttle!

This is the exhaust for the Spec E46 racing series and listed in the SE46 rules ( http://spece46.com/spece46-regulations/ ). Per SE46 rules, this must be used with stock E36 OBD-II exhaust manifolds that are sold separately. Together with the E36 manifolds this complete system eliminates the catalytic converters without the need to extensively modify the stock E46 exhaust. It's Made in the USA by Magnaflow with 3" stainless and mandrel-bent piping. The entire system, especially the front Y-pipe, has been designed to provide the least exhaust obstruction and promote flow. The front Y-pipe and merge collector simulates an equal-length header when used with the E36 OBD-II manifolds. V-band clamps make it easy to work on the exhaust or chassis in sections rather than dropping the entire exhaust system. A center resonator and rear muffler have been designed to cut noise levels for the more restrictive tracks.

E36 OBD-II exhaust manifolds required (1996-1999 E36 328i/M3). These can be purchased new but good used manifolds should be easy to find.

The aFe Race Center Pipe eliminates the factory primary and secondary catalytic converters in favor of 2.5" mandrel-bent stainless exhaust with 200-cell race cats. This aFe exhaust section fills the need for a E9X M3 center section with better flow than stock but that still incorporates catalytic converters. aFe recorded gains of 21whp and 35ft-lbs of torque on their dyno (when also combined with the aFe intake and mufflers).

aFe spent considerable time developing a system to eliminate both sets of stock cats and the center resonator for maximum flow but also doesn't lose torque or power at any RPM point, while also bolting to the factory headers and rear mufflers. It's a direct replacement for the stock section 1 and section 2 mid-pipes and includes a tuned center x-pipe to evenly balance exhaust pulses and maintain backpressure through the system. It uses all of the factory mounting locations, gaskets, and hangers and is made from the best 304 stainless steel.

By tuning the exhaust with different pipe diameters and the location of the x-pipe crossover, the aFe Race Pipe produces a very aggressive, raucous, and powerful exhaust note even when used with the stock muffler system. By opening up the exhaust and deleting the two restrictive cat sections and resonators, you will be able to hear a lot more of the exhaust as well as a deeper tone with more rumble - and with a big bump in power to go along with the sound! Don't be misled by other "race" pipes with minor sound changes - the aFe exhaust sounds a lot like our own E92 M3 racecars.

On a turbocharged vehicle, any restriction in the exhaust system reduces peak horsepower. By removing the factory catalytic converter, most of this restriction is removed gaining advantages in more than just peak horsepower. The factory downpipe, while excellent for maintaining strict emission regulations, does nothing to unlock the performance of a turbocharged engine. Due to an internal honeycomb structure that the exhaust gasses must pass through, flow is massively reduced. Additionally, this honeycomb causes turbulence after the converter which slows exhaust flow even further and causes more restriction. If you've ever tried to blow through a coffee straw, you know how your car feels. This not only limits how fast the turbo can spool or come up to speed but also how much air it can move in general.

When the internal honeycomb structure is removed in favor of a straight and hollow piece, these issues are alleviated. Not only can the turbocharger come up to max rpm faster, is does this more efficiently and with less work since there is no back-pressure against the turbine wheel. Turbo lag becomes a thing of the past and because of this, the powerband shifts and massive top end gains can be felt.

These are not stepped downpipes. The reason for this is quite simple - turbulence. While analyzing the B58 engine, the engineers at Evolution Racewerks noticed that the turbo exit diameter is 4.5" instead of 4" as on the previous N55 engines. In order to prevent any turbulence at this crucial phase in the exhaust system, Evo decided to go with a full 4.5" diameter downpipe. This way the sizing is consistent and no additional restriction or turbulence are added to the system.

Constructed out of 100% 304-grade stainless steel and fully mandrel bent, you can be sure that as much time has been put into construction as development. They are 100% TIG welded by in-house fabricators and built in the USA. The factory turbocharger turbine housing utilizes a V-Band flange which Evolution have duplicated and CNC machined cut out of billet 304 stainless steel. Stainless Steel CNC machined O2 sensor and laser cut brackets are TIG welded using stainless steel rods and the O2 sensor is positioned at the factory location. Since the outlet of the turbocharger is 4.5" and the factory exhaust system is 3", the factory downpipes reduces size using short transitions from 4.5" before the catalytic convert and 3"afterward. Due to the space needed for the catalytic converter, the factory downpipes reduce in size using very short transitions. Since these catless downpipes delete the catalytic converter, there is more space. Thus, Evolution uses very long transitions which allow the exhaust gas time to smoothly transition from the larger piping to the smaller.

Rather than creating a complete exhaust system, Active Autowerke opted for a compact design built in a smaller package to deliver more value to the BMW end user.

Just like replacing the BMW factory rear exhaust, the Active Autowerke BMW Performance rear exhaust does it in much the same way, if not better by using a much beefier, heavy duty TORCA style exhaust clamp. TORCA clamps are known for their strength and sealing capabilities to make that tight seal.

Other cool features like height adjustable mounting tabs also help to make this exhaust very east to install.

The system is a straight-through design providing substantial improvements to gas flow over the factory exhaust.
