Amesbury, MA. -- October 4th, 2017 -- With the 2017 WeatherTech Championship finale just a couple days away, Turner Motorsport prepares to finish the season out on a positive note following their recent streak of success.

The 20th annual running of the Petit Le Mans will conclude the 2017 WeatherTech Championship and decide the coveted Championship titles for both the prototype and GT classes on the 2.54-mile, 12-turn Road Atlanta.

On Saturday, for the 10 Hour Petit Le Mans season finale, season regular and BMW Motorsport driver Jens Klingmann will be joined by his familiar teammates Justin Marks and Jesse Krohn behind the wheel of the No. 96 Katerra BMW M6 GT3.

Justin Marks and Jens Klingmann saw success together in the Six Hours of the Glen back in July clinching a third place finish to procure the first podium of the season for the No. 96 Katerra BMW. Krohn and Klingmann went on to capture a second place podium and win securing valuable points in the Championship.

“The second half of this season has really come together with much success.” Jens Klingmann said. “We have had a good run with several podiums as well as many top fives which has allowed us to capture points to enter the final round third in the Championship. We are excited to have Justin (Marks) back in the car with us, especially for one of the biggest races of the season.”

The No. 96 enters the final race sitting in third place in an extremely tight GTD Championship battle. Currently, the Turner BMW sits just 14 points out of second place and forty points away from the Championship leading Ferrari.

“Another season is quickly coming to an end which marks Turner Motorsport’s 19th year of professional racing.” said Will Turner. “This season has certainly had its challenges as well as plenty of success so we look forward to finishing it off on a high note this weekend. I could not ask for a better driver lineup and am excited to go racing with Justin, Jens and Jesse.”

Will Turner added, “With the season end right around the corner, we have already begun planning and preparations for Turner Motorsport’s 20th season with a sole focus filling open seats and finalizing driver lineups.”

The Turner team will begin practice on Thursday in preparation for the Petit Le Mans on Saturday.
