Austin, Texas. – September 16th, 2015 – The Turner duo of Michael Marsal and Markus Palttala look to the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas for the Lone Star LeMans to mark the next round of the Tudor United SportsCar Championship this weekend.

The duo returns to action in their No. 97 IHG Rewards Club BMW Z4 after a hard fought fourth place finish at VIRginia International Raceway last month to compete on the 3.427-mile 20-turn FiA specification grand prix circuit home to the annual Formula One United States Grand Prix.

In the team’s first appearance at the newly built Circuit of the Americas in 2013, the Turner driver duo of Bill Auberlen and Paul Dalla Lana took top honors in both the Rolex Series GT class as well as the Continental Tire GS class to pull off a double win weekend.

In 2014, Turner celebrated their 300th Professional race start with BMW, going on to capture a 3rd place podium finish allowing Dane Cameron and Markus Palttala to “lasso” the Championship lead entering the final race of the 2014 Tudor Championship season continuing on to clinch the GTD Championship at Road Atlanta.

This year Michael Marsal and Markus Palttala look to continue the storied success for the blue and yellow BMWs at the world renowned Circuit of the Americas.

“2015 has been a challenging season for us,” commented Michael Marsal. “We came out of VIR with a strong finish and I’m looking to carry that momentum into this weekend at Circuit of the Americas. Both Markus and I are confident we will have a competitive car so we are hoping to grab the second podium of the season for our No. 97 IHG Rewards Club BMW.”

Entering this weekend, the No. 97 currently sits ninth in the GTD Championship standings, just ten points out of the top five.

“I’m excited to be back at COTA, Dane (Cameron) and I had a good race here last year so I think our IHG Rewards Club BMW Z4 will be competitive this weekend,” said Markus Palttala. “The higher speed, sweeping corners and the tighter section between turns 12 and 19 each play into the strengths of our Z4 so i'm looking forward to getting back behind the wheel.”

With a max elevation change of 133 ft and track width ranging from 39-52 ft the 3.427 mile circuit makes for exciting racing with its array of complex corners.

“COTA makes for some really good GT racing so we are all looking forward to this weekend’s Lone Star LeMans,” added Will Turner. “Circuit of the Americas is such a great venue so I’m hoping we can get our BMW dialed in and go racing with a strong car on Saturday.”

On track action for round nine of the Tudor Championship will begin on Friday, tune into LIVE timing and scoring on to keep up with the No. 97 IHG Rewards Club BMW.

Qualifying for the No. 97 BMW Z4 of Marsal and Palttala will take place on Friday, September 18th at 4:45pm ET and the Tudor Championship Lone Star LeMans will go green on Saturday, September 19th at 12:30pm ET LIVE on Fox Sports 1.
