Amesbury, MA. – January 26th, 2016 --With two BMW M6 GT3s and eight of the best BMW drivers from around the world, Turner Motorsport looks to the 54th running of the Rolex 24 at Daytona to kick off the 2016 WeatherTech Sportscar Championship season in just four days. The first race of the 2016 season will mark Turner Motorsport's 331st professional race start with BMW.

Two weeks ago, the team tested their two brand-new BMW M6 GT3s at the Roar Before the 24 on the 3.56-mile, 12-turn Daytona International Speedway in preparation for one of the most grueling endurance races in the world. Both the No. 96 and No. 97 Turner BMWs completed a successful test weekend to gear up for this coming weekend’s race.

As with previous years, the Turner Motorsport driver lineup includes some familiar faces paired up with some of the best BMW works drivers from all over the globe. Michael Marsal will be joined by co-driver and 2014 IMSA Champion Markus Palttala along with Jesse Krohn and Maxime Martin behind the wheel of the No. 97 BMW M6 GT3.

“The race is right around the corner and I couldn’t be more pumped up,” said Michael Marsal. “We have all the perfect ingredients to make a strong performance to start the 2016 season. I am very impressed with the level of development in these new BMW M6 GT3s and the Turner team’s ability to get them prepared for one of the toughest endurance races on any racing schedule.”

Bret Curtis will be joined by season-long co-driver Jens Klingmann as well as Marco Wittmann and Ashley Freiberg to kick off the season at Daytona in the No. 96 BMW M6 GT3.

“We are looking forward to taking the green flag on Saturday,” said Will Turner. “Daytona has been and will always be one of those races you dream about winning. Our M6’s are brand-new cars and relatively undeveloped compared to some of the competition, so will remain cautiously optimistic. We, as a team, need to focus our energy on making the cars as reliable as we can and we need our drivers to stay out of trouble on track. The good news is, that during testing at Daytona a couple of weeks ago, the top speed of the M6 addresses the concerns we have had in previous years with the Z4. Unless of course the competition has a lot left in the bag – which wouldn’t surprise me – it seems the start of 2016 season has been all about not showing what you have (sandbagging).”

Turner welcomes some new and returning partners for the 2016 season including IHG Rewards Club, H&R Springs, aFe Power, Motul Lubricants, Sonax Car Care, Borla Exhaust, The Hilliard Group and Pagid Brakes.

This year will mark Turner Motorsport’s seventh start in the Rolex 24 at Daytona. The team’s first start was in 2010 with the No. 94 Riley Chassis M6 finishing eighth in GT. Since their first Rolex 24 start in the M6, Turner has campaigned both the E92 M3 GT as well as the Z4.

On-track action begins on Thursday, January 28th with practice and then qualifying. Visit to view live timing and scoring from each session.

The 54th running of the Rolex 24 at Daytona will take the green flag at 2:40pm ET on Saturday, January 30th and will be televised LIVE from Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach, Florida. Be Sure to TUNE-IN to Fox Sports 1.

Driver Quotes:

Bret Curtis - No. 96 BMW M6 GT3
“I’m very appreciative of the opportunity I have and the support that BMW is lending to their new M6 GT3 car that we are going after the 24H with. With the teamwork of BMW & Turner; and the tremendous driver line up, I’m very excited going into the biggest race of the year in IMSA.”

Markus Palttala - No. 97 BMW M6 GT3
"I'm excited to start the 3rd season with Turner Motorsport and 2nd teaming up with Mike Marsal in the yellow and blue #97.It's an honor to get to debut the all-new GT3 racer of BMW. Doing it in a 24-hour race is obviously a big task, but we have a package ready to go all the way. The M6 is fast and comfortable and it ran without issues at the Roar. The team is on top of things following a busy winter of preparations and we have a great driver line-up with Maxime and Jesse joining Michael and me. We are ready for the challenge!

Jens Klingmann - No. 96 BMW M6 GT3
"First race of the season is always very exciting especially this year racing our brand new BMW M6 GT3. We've put so much effort, know how and heart in this car over the past year. Endurance races are always a compromise between many things like seat position but also because of the different driving styles of each driver sharing a car. This is the race we all have been looking for and hopefully the start of a successful season for Turner.

Michael Marsal - No. 97 BMW M6 GT3
"I’m looking forward to another season with Turner Motorsport, especially with these new cars and a phenomenal driver lineup for one of the most prestigious endurance racing events there is. The development and amount of resources focused on the new M6 GT3 really gives me and the entire team a lot of confidence to get behind the wheel and deliver some strong results.
