Amesbury, MA. -- July 18th, 2017 -- Turner Motorsport is set to return to its home track of Lime Rock Park in the wake of four straight top-five finishes in the 2017 WeatherTech SportsCar Championship campaigning the No. 96 M6 GT3.

The team returns to racing action for round eight on the 1.51-mile 7-turn circuit following the brief break since the start of the north east swing at Watkins Glen International and Canadian Tire Motorsport Park.

Jens Klingmann, who has shared driving duties with Bret Curtis and Justin Marks throughout the season will share the driver’s seat with Jesse Krohn to battle the 17-car highly competitive GTD field for Northeast Grand Prix.

Jesse Krohn will make his first appearance in the Turner BMW since the Sebring 12 Hour back in March of this year. Krohn has considerable experience in the M6 GT3 around the world, including the Blancpain GT series in Europe and Asia and ADAC masters in Europe.

Krohn most recently raced in the 24 Hours of Nurburgring to finish eleventh as well as a podium finish in Sepang driving the M6 GT3 earlier this year.

“Lime Rock is always one of those races we look forward to as a team,” Will Turner said. “Not only do we have a lot of history and success here, but the atmosphere and fans really make it a fun weekend for everyone. Hopefully we can continue our momentum from the last several races and put our BMW on the podium.”

In 2015, Michael Marsal and Dane Cameron captured a memorable GTD class victory in their IHG Rewards Club BMW Z4. The win came only 24 hours after a crash in practice forced the team to work throughout the night to get the car race ready.

Turner success at Lime Rock has been consistent over the past several years with recent class wins in ’06, ’09, ’10, ’15 and ’17 as well as a second place podium in 2011.

Turner Motorsport captured a class victory earlier this year at Lime Rock Park with Dane Cameron behind the wheel of the BMW M235iR Racing in May.

“We have built up some strong momentum during these last four races so I feel very positive about this weekend at Lime Rock,” said Jens Klingmann. “We had a strong BMW here last year but ultimately did not have the pace to finish on the podium so I think we can build off that this year and improve on our recent results.”

In addition to on-track action at Lime Rock Park this weekend, Turner Motorsport will be hosting the Austin Hatcher Foundation Charity Auction at the Team transporter inside Big Bend at 12:45pm, Saturday July 22nd. The Auction will feature various Turner Motorsport race memorabilia and hard to find gear with all proceeds donated to benefit the foundation for pediatric cancer.

Practice for the IMSA WeatherTech Northeast Grand Prix begins at 12:05pm ET on Friday July 21st, with qualifying at 5:15pm. The Northeast Grand Prix will be televised LIVE nationwide on Fox Sports 1 at 3:00pm ET. Check your local cable listings for tune in details.
