This discounted buy allows us to offer this GREAT UPGRADE PACKAGE at about half the retail cost. Building a sleeper 325/328 or an E36 track car? Converting the front brakes on your non-M E36 is very easy! Especially with all new, OEM parts!
      Package Includes:
    • Genuine BMW M3 front spindles (left & right) (pn# 34 11 2 227 907 & 908)
    • OEM / ATE BMW M3 front calipers with clip and bushings
    • OEM / ATE BMW E36 M3 front caliper brackets with bolts

    Your car's braking performance will be dramatically improved due to the M3's substantially larger vented rotors and pads. The best thing about this upgrade is that parts are all off the shelf M3 and upgrades are readily available. Rotors are inexpensive when compared to replacement discs in specialized big brake kits.

    Removal of the standard E36 wheel hub and spindle is easy since the rotor, wheel bearing, and caliper do not have to be separated. The M3 parts will bolt on to your existing 318/325/328 front strut and tie rod assembly without modification. 17" or larger wheels are required to clear these M3 calipers. For the alignment, plan on the spindles to increase negative camber by at least 1 degree. The alignment will vary based on many different factors so an accurate prediction is nearly impossible. For a street-driven car you may want to also consider KMAC adjustable camber plates or the fixed 1996-99 M3 strut mounts which will reduce the negative camber by about 1 degree. For a track-car, the extra negative camber will be welcome for reducing understeer.

    Choose from standard M3 rotors, TMS cross-drilled, TMS gas-slotted, or the BMW Motorsport Euro Floating rotors. We also offer a variety of brake pads for this application (Axxis Ultimate come standard with the kit, or choose another pad from the list below).

    Looking for M3 rear brakes too? We have the calipers, brackets, rotors, etc grouped in a package (#325toM3brakes-REAR) to upgrade your rear brakes as well. The rear rotors are 1" larger than the stock non-M rotors. This gives you a much larger braking surface and allows for better cooling. The trade-off is losing your brake dust shield and the parking brake mechanism. The non-M parking brake runs out of adjustment because the M3 rotor is so much larger. This is usually not an issue for a track-only car but you will miss it on the street.

    Stoptech® Stainless Steel Braided Brake Lines provide a quicker, firmer, more consistent pedal response by maintaining consistent brake pressure. Additionally, stainless steel lines provide precision brake modulation, especially during threshold braking. The improvement in pedal feel is more dramatic on older vehicles where the factory rubber line may have softened and swelled due to age.

    StopTech® brake lines consist of a PTFE (commonly referred to as Teflon®) inner line that carries the brake fluid, which is then covered with a layer of stainless steel woven braid. The PTFE tube is very resistant to expansion under pressure and will not degrade from exposure to brake fluid.

    The braided stainless steel provides support for the PTFE and the weave is extremely durable against incidental impact and abrasion. Next the stainless braided hose is coated with a clear abrasion resistant PVC cover for maximum protection against chaffing and strain relief devices reinforce end fittings.

    Racing ABS Wiring Harness   (more info)
    Our custom ABS harness allows the Ate Mk 6.0 ABS system from a 2003-2006 BMW E46 M3 Competition Package (ZCP) to run as a “stand alone system” and potentially be installed in ANY CAR, not just a BMW. Most of our customers will use this system to replace a 3-channel ABS system which is inadequate on the racetrack. Our harness will allow the E46 M3’s ABS to work without needing any of the factory wiring harness or dash cluster - it's stand-alone! The E46 M3’s ABS system is a four-channel high performance system which applies ABS to each wheel rather than a three-channel system like on a BMW E36 that only sends one signal to the rear (and two to the front). The Ate Mk 6 system is currently one of the best ABS systems on the planet. We have used this setup on all of our Grand-Am BMWs with tremendous success. This is also the “hot setup” for Porsche 997 track cars because the standard chassis electronics (PASM) has shortcomings on the racetrack.

    Our harness also incorporates an output plug which allows the user to connect to the ABS control unit with a laptop. This allows electronic brake bleeding and diagnostics. A toggle switch allows you to turn the system on or off (cycling the switch resets the system) and a LED warns of a system failure. The signal to the warning LED can also be incorporated into a racing dash display. Software for diagnostics and the cable are included. The ABS software is not programmable but has proven to work very well on a variety of cars.

    A Motorsport ABS control unit is also available which optimizes the ABS for racing tires whereas the standard unit is mapped for street tires. For most drivers the standard control unit is sufficient as it's a huge improvement over the system it's replacing. The traction and stability settings of the Motorsport programming are much higher compared to the stock unit which allows the driver to make full use of the race tires with maximum braking generated in any condition. It will also generate additional data that the standard unit does not provide. This Motorsport control unit can be added to any 2003-2006 E46 M3 for an instant ABS upgrade. We have a few “used” units on the shelf (spares from our Grand Am cars) that we can offer at a substantial savings over a new part. The Motorsport control unit will also automatically adjust for different wheel sizes and any ABS ring gear/tooth count so it is required for all non-BMW applications.

    The harness requires several factory BMW components: ABS ECU/Pump, yaw rate sensor, ABS pressure sensors (x 2), and wheel speed sensors (x 4). We have packaged new parts together to make it easy or you can source your own from a 2003-2006 E46 M3 or M3 ZCP.

    These pads were originally equipped on the E46 M3 models. Owners of the E46 M3 will know that the stock pads are already quite 'aggressive' from the factory with a lot of initial bite. The initial bite was built into the pad to stop criticism of BMW's lack of performance brakes. Instead of building the M models with exotic - and expensive - multi-piston calipers, BMW engineers turned up the braking power in their pads. For the street, these are excellent brake pads with excellent feel and performance. The only downside is the dust that comes from an organic pad.

    Although these pads were originally designed for the E46 M3, they fit other cars as well, making them a great first-step upgrade for better braking.
