The M20 engine's timing belt should be replaced every 50,000 miles. BMW calls out a 60,000 mile interval, but there are numerous reports of belts slipping or snapping before this interval is up. We recommend performing this service with INA's timing belt and tensioner roller kit, which includes the two most common wear items in the timing system.
