From the factory, engine and transmission mounts are rubber and thus a wear component. Worn out engine or transmission mounts create sloppiness and a disconnect between the driver and your BMW's powerplant. If your vehicle is purpose built for the track, we recommend solid engine and transmission mounts. These have zero deflection, but come at the expense of added NVH (noise, vibration, and harshness). Poly engine and transmission mounts offer a good balance between OEM rubber and solid mounts for those with mixed purpose vehicles, offering great performance and connection with little sacrifice in terms of NVH.

These specific mounts are designed for those with clearance issues on extremely low E30s. They are 20mm taller than OEM mounts to add necessary clearance to ensure the oil pan sits above the stock subframe. Under hard braking the OEM rubber mounts allow the m20 to lean forward. Not only do these solid UHMW replacement mounts stiffen the engine and drivetrain, but they also raise the engine by 20mm, dramatically changing the responsiveness and raising the oil pan height of your E30. UHMW is an excellent general-purpose plastic with a unique combination of wear and corrosion resistance, low friction surface and impact strength.
