Replacing your oil pan can be necessary if you own an older BMW or yours has become dented or damaged. Not only does this part hold all of the oil the internal baffle structure prevents starvation under cornering and acceleration. Making sure your oilpan is intact and leak free will prevent problems down the road.
If you are replacing your oil level sensor for any reason, it is highly recommended that you replace this seal as well to prevent any future leaks.
