Morimoto's XB HID bulbs set the standard in the aftermarket, offering exceptional performance and value. These bulbs are compatible with both 35W and 55W setups, delivering superior lumens, extended lifespan, longer projection, and enhanced aesthetics.
The XB D2S bulbs feature 100% Philips quartz glass with a high-quality capsule from APL-USA, using premium halide salts from German supplier Messer. This results in luminosity comparable to renowned Osram CBI bulbs at 5000K, ensuring excellent nighttime visibility.
What sets Morimoto's XB bulbs apart is their exceptional longevity. With Austrian-sourced Plansee electrodes, these bulbs maintain 83% of their intensity after 200 hours of use, compared to the Philips bulb's 86%. This level of endurance is unmatched in the aftermarket.
Morimoto's Symmetry-Structure frame ensures precise alignment of the glass capsule, guaranteeing uniform and bright HID output. These XB replacement HID bulbs meet or exceed industry-standard specifications, complying with SAE, DOT, and ECE requirements. They have been rigorously tested for compatibility with various ballasts from Morimoto, Denso, Hella, Bosch, and Koito, passing with ease.
Morimoto sets the standard for aftermarket HID bulbs with their exceptional XB lineup. These D2S bulbs offer outstanding performance, making them a top choice for BMW enthusiasts. Whether you opt for 35W or 55W, the Morimoto XB bulbs shine brighter, last longer, project further, and enhance your vehicle's appearance.
The heart of these XB D2S bulbs lies in their flawless alignment, featuring 100% Philips quartz glass housing with a capsule sourced from APL-USA. Utilizing high-quality halide salts from German supplier Messer, these bulbs achieve nearly the same luminosity (intensity) as the renowned Osram CBI bulbs at 5500K. That's right, you'll experience exceptional visibility at night. In comparison tests with leading brands, Morimoto's XB capsules prove to be among the best.
Expect longevity with Morimoto's XB bulbs, thanks to Austrian-sourced Plansee electrodes. After 200 hours of use, the Morimoto bulb maintains an impressive 83% intensity, just slightly behind the Philips bulb, which retains 86%. This level of durability is unmatched in the aftermarket.
Precise alignment is key to Morimoto's Symmetry-Structure frame, ensuring the bulbs produce consistently bright and uniform output throughout their lifespan.
Compliance with industry-standard specifications and adherence to SAE, DOT, and ECE requirements make Morimoto's XB replacement HID bulbs ideal for any BMW. They have undergone rigorous testing with ballasts from Morimoto, Denso, Hella, Bosch, and Koito and have passed with flying colors.
Morimoto hasn't really had anything to offer in this niche because they didn't want to risk their reputation selling their customers something that they truly didn't believe in. Instead, they stood on the sidelines while learning from everybody else's mistakes. In testing the brand-new 2Stroke 2.0 system side by side with a multitude of other designs, Morimoto finally became excited about LED headlight bulbs for the first time. Against the odds and Morimoto's expectations; seeing is believing and the new 2Stroke 2.0 LED Bulbs work extremely well! Here's why.
Safety:
You won't be putting yourself at risk while driving at night with the 2Stroke 2.0 Bulbs. Prior to this, Morimoto could only ever comfortably recommend LED bulbs for use as auxiliary lighting, high beams, fog lights, etc. Morimoto tests a lot of automotive lighting products and until now, there were no options that would translate their luminosity out onto the road into a useful-enough beam pattern to really call adequate for on-road use. The optics for the 2Stroke 2.0 bulbs are unique compared to other sizes in the range in order to produce the best possible results.
What's New:
Relative to the original 2Stroke that used massive & powerful CREE XHP50 LED chips, the updated 2.0 version now employs the latest and greatest Z ES chips from Philips Lumileds. Their small footprint allows for maximum lumen density and precision perfection when it comes to the bulbs ability to re-create the output of the original halogen bulbs they replace. Many other LED headlight bulbs are now using small LED chips lined up in a row, but nothing compares to the Philips Z ES.
Cooling:
Heat management is crucial for lumen maintenance and reliability. The 2Stroke bulb's internally opposed 1.5mm copper boards extract as much heat as possible from the area surrounding the LED chips and transfers it to the radiator at the back of the bulb. The one-piece radiator housing is CNC machined from 6061 aluminum, and conceals a magnetic levitating fan inside. This is the most compact way to house an effective yet compact cooling system.
Size:
Due to the extra depth of most LED bulbs, they won't fit inside headlights with solid plastic rear housing caps. The 2Stroke 2.0 is undoubtedly one of the most compact (yet still actively cooled) LED Bulbs on the market. Morimoto paid much attention to this throughout development, and it's not such an easy task given the need to balance size, power input to the LED chips, and thermal management to keep them running within safe range.
