BMW Sway Bar Kits for BMW 5 Series E60 (2004-2010)

Clear BMW chassis

Please ensure your correct model is selected

The next step in tuning your car's handling - after shocks/springs and camber plates - should be a set of swaybars. Using larger front and rear sway bars will give your car better/quicker turn-in and less bodyroll in corners. These bars replace the existing sway bars on the car for a clean and simple upgrade with very little downside. Sway bars should be matched with your springs/shocks to maintain a proper handling balance. In some cases only a front or rear bar is needed to positively change the balance and make the car more neutral. We sell sway bar kits from H&R, Racing Dynamics, OE BMW upgrades, and even some of our own designs. Swaybars are sold with new bushings. New links and other hardware are strongly recommended.

Upgrade your BMW's suspension with ECS Tuning Adjustable Sway Bar End Links, designed to provide up to 60mm (2.36") of adjustability. These end links allow you to eliminate sway bar preload or fine-tune it for specific racing needs and corner balancing. When installed, they improve drivetrain clearance and enhance sway bar responsiveness by reducing deflection, ensuring superior handling. Perfect for lowered vehicles using springs, coilovers, or air-ride suspension systems, these adjustable sway bar end links allow you to remove unwanted preload caused by changes in the center-to-center distance between sway bar mounting points. By adjusting the end links to a neutral position, you eliminate sway bar preload, enhancing suspension performance in various driving conditions.

The main body of the ECS Sway Bar End Links is crafted from strong, lightweight 6061-T6 billet aluminum and anodized red for superior corrosion resistance. Featuring left and right-hand threaded center sections and machined hex wrench fittings, these end links allow for quick and easy on-the-car adjustments. Zinc-plated hardware ensures secure and lasting adjustments, while the heavy-duty ball joint ends come with weather-resistant rubber boots and stainless steel wire retainers, providing superior protection against salt, rain, and ozone for extended durability. Each kit also includes zinc-plated Nyloc nuts and hardened steel washers for secure installation and improved contact surface on the sway bar.

These end links are designed, engineered, and rigorously tested by ECS Tuning to ensure the highest quality. Whether you have a lowered or stock suspension, these adjustable sway bar end links are the perfect upgrade, offering a high-quality, heavy-duty replacement that fits your specific needs.

Features:

Range of Adjustment: 255mm (10") to 315mm (12.4") 6061-T6 Billet Aluminum Construction: Red anodized for superior corrosion resistance Zinc-Plated Hardware: Provides durability and superior corrosion protection Right and Left-Hand Threaded Center Sections: Quick and simple on-the-car adjustments Heavy-Duty Ball Joints (M10x1.5): Weather-resistant rubber boots and stainless steel wire retainers for long-lasting durability NOTE: If you've modified your vehicle's suspension with aftermarket struts or coilovers, the mounting location for the sway bar end link may have moved. To confirm fitment with our adjustable end links, please measure the distance between the sway bar and the mounting location on the strut body with the vehicle at ride height and confirm that it is within the 255 mm - 315mm range of adjustment.

Sway bars transmit cornering forces from the outside wheels to the inside wheels, helping to keep the vehicle flat during cornering. This in turn reduces body roll and improves the driver's cornering confidence. OEM rubber sway bar bushings are designed with comfort in mind, allowing the sway bar to articulate while permitting additional movement, leading to less-than-ideal bar retention and causes unnecessary body roll.

Powerflex polyurethane sway bar bushings are firmer than factory rubber bushings, reducing body roll and keeping sway bars in check. Polyurethane bushings won't slop around like OEM bushings, allowing sway bars to function at their fullest potential.

Poweflex is a leading manufacturer of aftermarket suspension bushings. Using state of the art design and manufacturing, all replacement bushings are engineered to out-perform and out-last the ones that came in the car. Each line of bushings is meticulously tested and then re-tested to ensure perfect fitment and enduring quality through the life of the vehicle. A full lifetime warranty backs every one of their products and demonstrates the level of confidence and commitment Powerflex has to their customers.

Dinan uses the factory sway bar with this new bracket and a 21mm rear sway bar to balance the M5/M6 handling. Instead of the traditional larger sway bar Dinan has come up with this way of stiffening the stock bar. This has a number of advantages over a thicker aftermarket bar: lower cost, the bar does not have to be removed, no tradeoff in ride comfort.

Dinan sway bars are carefully engineered to match the driving dynamics of each BMW chassis. Dinan's research and development finds the ideal balance between improved handling while maintaining a comfortable ride. This set has been fine-tuned for the E90/E92 chassis to reduce bodyroll, improve steering and turn-in response, and reduce understeer. The front bar is hollow tubular steel for light weight with adjustable ends to dial in the handling characteristics. The rear bar is non-adjustable. These are the same sway bars used in Dinan's Stage 1 suspension and work best with Dinan shocks and springs or a similar sport suspension and wider rear tires.

For over 35 years, Dinan has been America's premier tuning company, pioneering advancements in BMW modification while retaining a focus on balanced performance that preserves the original character and driving feel that a BMW offers. When you install a Dinan part on your car, know that it's not only carefully developed and tested, but that Dinan stands behind it with a four year, 50,000-mile warranty. Dinan believes so fully in their “total package” approach that once your car has been fitted with enough of their parts, they celebrate your conversion from stock to Dinan with an exclusive trunk badge, displayed proudly by BMW enthusiasts everywhere. Each sway bar is worth 1 point towards your Dinan badge.

Dinan has a unique approach to fine-tuning the handling of the E60 M5, E63 M6 - to improve handling and not impact ride comfort they have engineered a way of stiffening the stock front sway bar while replacing the rear bar with a slightly larger bar. Instead of the traditional larger sway bar Dinan has come up with this way of stiffening the stock front bar. They have relocated the attachment point for the link to be further away from the end - effectively shortening the bar and making it stiffer. This has a number of advantages over a thicker aftermarket bar: lower cost, the bar does not have to be removed, no tradeoff in ride comfort. Dinan's research and development finds the ideal balance between improved handling while maintaining a comfortable ride. This set has been fine-tuned to reduce bodyroll, improve steering and turn-in response, and reduce understeer. Sway bars transmit cornering forces from the outside wheels to the inside wheels, helping to keep the vehicle flat during cornering. This, in turn, reduces body roll and improves the driver's cornering confidence.

This part fits the following BMWs:

These bushings are critical for connecting the front sway bar to the chassis, helping to improve handling and stability during driving.

Key Features:

  1. Specifically for 25mm Sway Bars:

    • These bushings are designed for vehicles equipped with a 25mm front sway bar, ensuring a perfect fit for optimal performance and effective control of body roll.
  2. Functionality:

    • The sway bar bushings serve to connect the sway bar to the vehicle's chassis, allowing it to effectively minimize body roll when cornering. This results in improved stability and handling, enhancing the overall driving experience.
  3. Material Options:

    • Available in rubber and polyurethane:
      • Rubber bushings provide excellent noise dampening and a comfortable ride but may wear out more quickly under heavy stress.
      • Polyurethane bushings are known for their durability and performance benefits, offering reduced flex and improved handling, making them a favored choice for performance-oriented drivers.
  4. Improved Handling Characteristics:

    • Replacing worn or degraded bushings with new ones can lead to noticeable improvements in the vehicle's handling dynamics, resulting in more responsive steering and enhanced control during spirited driving.
  5. Wide Compatibility:

    • These bushings are designed to fit a variety of BMW models, including the Z4, E60, E61, and E39, making them an excellent choice for owners looking to maintain or enhance their vehicle’s performance.
  6. Installation:

    • The installation process typically involves detaching the sway bar from the suspension system. While experienced DIY enthusiasts may tackle this project, professional installation is often recommended to ensure proper alignment and performance.

Benefits of Replacement or Upgrade:

  • Enhanced Cornering Stability: New bushings significantly improve the sway bar's effectiveness, reducing body roll and enhancing cornering stability.
  • Increased Steering Precision: Fresh bushings provide better feedback from the suspension system, resulting in a more connected driving experience.
  • Long-lasting Performance: Upgrading to polyurethane options can increase the lifespan of the sway bar components, minimizing the frequency of replacements.

In summary, the BMW Z4 / E60 / E61 / E39 Front Sway Bar Bushings (25mm) are critical for maintaining and enhancing the handling and performance of these BMW models. Whether you are replacing worn-out bushings or upgrading to polyurethane for improved durability and responsiveness, ensuring these components are in top condition is vital for enjoying the exceptional driving dynamics associated with BMW vehicles.
