Drivetrain Mounts and Upgrades for BMW 7 Series E65 (2002-2008)

From the factory, engine and transmission mounts are rubber and thus a wear component. Worn out engine or transmission mounts create sloppiness and a disconnect between the driver and your BMW's powerplant. If your vehicle is purpose built for the track, we recommend solid engine and transmission mounts. These have zero deflection, but come at the expense of added NVH (noise, vibration, and harshness). Poly engine and transmission mounts offer a good balance between OEM rubber and solid mounts for those with mixed purpose vehicles, offering great performance and connection with little sacrifice in terms of NVH.

Differential bushings are responsible for keeping your rear end planted during the delivery of power to the rear wheels. As these bushings age, they wear out and should be replaced. If you ever see your bushings are cracked, it is time to replace them. By eliminating the drivetrain deflection that factory rubber bushings permit, throttle response is improved, and the tendency for a car to “Wheel Hop” is significantly reduced. Upgrade to ECS Poly Diff Bushings and feel the difference!

With bad transmission mounts, excessive vibration and noise is transferred to the cabin. The rubber in the mounts wear out over time and cause too much movement in the drivetrain. Replace them when wear is detected to keep everything tight.
