Simply connect to your 20 pin service plug under the hood, turn the key to the accessory position and click the button on the adapter. Thats it! No batteries required. Instructions: 1. Plug the Device into the 20 Pin diagnostic socket of the car located in the engine compartment (OBD1), or under drive footwell (OBD2). 2. Turn ignition key to enable the board electronic but don`t turn on the motor. 3. Press the button for the operation you want to perform and keep it pressed. 4. This is an OEM INA Upper Idler Pulley, also known as the roller pulley or deflection pulley. The upper and lower idler pulleys are known to be the primary sources for 'belt squealing'. The pulley is also encased in rubber which will crack over time. If left without service the rubber could fail completely, chucking the belt and leaving you stranded. Replacement is a very simple procedure and can be done anytime the fan is off the engine (belt replacement, water pump service, alternator replacement, etc).
