This fully plug-and-play EKPM3 / EKPM2 cooler kit is designed specifically for E9X BMWs using an EKPM3 or EKPM2 fuel pump control module. This is recommended for anyone using a low-pressure fuel pump that is larger than the OEM fuel pump. Please note that if you have an HW06 + (Slim EKPM3), you must choose the HW06 option, as the pre-HW06 housings will not fit. If you have an M3, you must choose an EKPM2 style cooler since the EKP Module has the same physical dimensions as an EKPM2. Installation Tips: https://arcterminator.com/pages/e90-e92-e93-ekp-cooler-install-instructions We recommend using Fuse #8 (2007+ E9X), which is the cigarette lighter fuse to power this. It is a 20 amp fuse, which you will just need to pull out and put into the empty slot of the fuse holder that comes with the kit. Then you'll need to put that fuse holder into the now empty #8 fuse slot. This ensures that the fan will only turn on when the ignition in the car is turned on. You'll also need trim removal tools, as well as a 10mm socket to remove and re-install the EKP module. We recommend using the stock grounding point that's above the EKP module or the EKP module's mounting points as the ground. The ring terminal with the kit will fit either location. The whole installation should take you between 30 - 45 minutes. The EKPM3 and EKPM2 have been shown to overheat and cause vehicle shutdown issues when larger fuel pumps that draw more current than OEM are used. This shutdown comes from critical components on the EKPM3 and EKPM2 overheating when larger current draws are coming from the fuel pump. The PNP kit comes with heatsinks for the most heat-sensitive and heat-producing components in the EKPM3 / EKPM2 to further increase cooling effectiveness. When paired with a potent 5015 blower fan that directs a large amount of airflow through the cooler housing, the EKPM3 / EKPM2 stays significantly cooler, which prolongs the life of the module. We also recommend anyone using a larger fuel pump than OEM to properly code their EKP module with Pro-Tool's built-in "Voltage Fix" feature. Introducing the comprehensive N54/N55 Low-Pressure Fueling Solution! With Radium Engineering's Regulated Fuel Hanger Surge Tank at its core, this kit allows you to tailor your fuel pump setup, select an in-line fuel filter, and opt for a wiring kit for multiple LPFP configurations in your N54 or N55-powered E9X 335i. In this setup, the BMW fuel pump serves as a "lift" pump, maintaining fuel volume in the Fuel Hanger Surge Tank via a dedicated orifice. This guarantees sufficient pressure for the venturi jet pump(s) to operate, ensuring consistent fuel delivery. Excess fuel in the FHST cycles back to the OEM tank through a one-way check valve ensuring a steady fuel supply. Unlike conventional surge tanks, which rely on pump flow matching, this FHST employs additional mechanisms to continuously deliver fuel regardless of fluctuations in other fuel sources. When the main tank nears depletion, the lift pump and Fuel Pressure Regulator step in to supply fuel to the FHST. Furthermore, with a boost reference signal (Hobbs Switch), the Fuel Pressure Regulator operates at a 1:1 ratio, allowing fuel pressure to rise proportionally with boost pressure. The low-pressure fuel returning from the Fuel Pressure Regulator is routed back into the surge tank to maintain its fullness. Inside the canister, a 6-hole diverter ensures even fuel dispersion without air bubbles or foaming. The stainless electrical studs included effectively handle high current demands, surpassing the capabilities of compact bulkhead connectors. These resilient connections are sealed against all standard and exotic fuels, with non-conductive acorn nuts provided to prevent accidental short circuits. The kit also includes the necessary electrical hardware for one Walbro fuel pump and the OEM level sender, while the in-tank wiring is insulated with premium chemically resistant ETFE for enhanced durability. If you are planning on running more than one LPFP, you will need to select the Hobbs Switch option for boost reference (to be installed on the manifold or charge pipe), as well as the fuel pump wiring kit!
