While BMW has recently implemented 'Lifetime' fluid on most current models, we feel that it is critical to change the transmission filter and flush the fluid at least every 50,000 miles. This MOTUL SAE 75W90 gearbox and differential fluid is a 100% synthetic ester based oil, which can be used in tranmissions and rear differentials under all conditions of use -- street, track and racing. This oil has proved its qualities and resistance to extreme conditions. We would not hesitate to use this MOTUL 75W-90 GEAR 300 gear oil on our own personal vehicles, and neither should you. Be sure to check your owners manual before selecting oil products for street applications. This is a 1 liter bottle, so be sure to order enough for your specific application. API GL-5.MIL-L-2105D.

Transmission fluid is responsible for both cooling and lubricating sensitive transmission components. Over time, this fluid becomes contaminated by particulate from clutch and gear components wearing down. This contamination reduces the fluid's ability to act as a lubricant, eventually leading to increased wear and tear within the transmission. To prevent excess wear and keep your transmission in top shape, the fluid and filter should be replaced regularly. As per ZF's recommendations, we suggest performing a full service on your 8HP automatic transmission every 50,000 miles. If your vehicle has been modified to produce more power than stock or if it is regularly track-driven, we recommend shorter 30,000-mile service intervals. This will ensure your transmission's fluid is free from contamination, which will help extend the life of internal transmission components, such as clutch packs and solenoids.

Rein OE Quality Automatic Transmission Service kits address the short-lived valve body sealing sleeves and adapter in the ZF 6HP transmissions. This kit includes the necessary direct-fitting sealing hardware to conveniently service the shrunken valve body sealing sleeves during the recommended fluid and filter change interval of 62,000 miles / 8 years at the latest. The ZF 6HP19Z series transmission is a very durable and powerful unit that can last for many miles if serviced in time to allow the valve body to maintain proper fluid pressure. The slightest drop in valve body fluid pressure in this unit leads to premature transmission bushing and or clutch wear, along with contamination and overheating of the fluid. Rein recommends the OE or Pentosin ATF-1 synthetic automatic transmission fluid for this job.
