Under certain conditions, the N55 crank hub likes to spin, without warning and even when the engine is in perfect health. The engineers at Vargas saw and dealt with this problem time and again, and they saw fit to do something about it. This hub uses a proprietary "Spline Lock" technology that uses high tolerance machined splines which press into the crank, and positively lock the hub to the crank. The splines are machined in such a way that rotational forces drive the hub, and splines deeper into the crank meaning when the hub encounters a situation that would normally slip a stock hub the splined hub is driven into the crank to keep it in place (much like a splined extractor). Features: Installs the same as a stock hub Does NOT require the crank to be drilled for pins Manufactured from Harndered 17-4SS We suggest the Crank Hub System ONLY be installed by a qualified shop or technician. Timing tools are 100% REQUIRED if installed improperly engine damage may occur. DISCLAIMER: VTT and ECS are not responsible for any engine damage caused by improper installation, or misuse of the crank hub solution.

Anyone with a modified N54 knows the risks involved. Upping the performance of any engine can come with some inherent risk; if we add more boost but not fuel, detonation will occur (or worse). Furthermore, improper installation, maintenance, or operation can turn a perfectly healthy engine into a paperweight. The worst failures, however, are the ones we don't plan for. When the engine simply can't handle the stresses its put under, or the design is such that it simply does not support extreme conditions. Enter the N54 crank hub. Under certain conditions, it likes to spin without warning, even when the engine is in perfect health. Vargas spent many months testing, and retesting this design, utilizing well over 10 different samples to come to the final production version. During testing, the final hub managed to break the testing rig before slipping. These have been bench-tested, and real-world tested on the VTT N54 race car spinning 8K RPM, and making well over 900WHP. Features: Installs the same as a stock hub Does NOT require the crank to be drilled for pins Manufactured from Harndered 17-4SS We suggest the Crank Hub System ONLY be installed by a qualified shop or technician. If your engine has higher mileage, don't neglect rod bearing replacement! These bearings are sandwiched between the connecting rod and crankshaft journal and are prone to failure due to overheating, lack of lubrication, or general wear. Replace your rod bearings and prevent a spun bearing.

Starting with ACL’s high-performance bearing shells, our Race Series bearings are built to withstand extreme RPMs and stress. Utilizing a "Duraglide" tri-metal construction and a high-strength overlay plate, these bearings offer superior oiling and heat resistance for high-RPM operation.

Our WPC-treated bearings take ACL’s already impressive design and enhance it even further. The WPC treatment process strengthens and smooths the bearing surface by firing high-speed, ultra-fine particles at the bearing shells, reducing friction and improving durability. This advanced surface treatment ensures smoother operation and improved heat dissipation, which are critical for any high-performance engine.

Kit includes

Turner Motorsport WPC-Treated Race Series Rod Bearing Shells (16) Genuine BMW Connecting Rod Bolts (16) Hardware for Oil Pan & Oil Sump Oil filter Liqui-Moly Molygen 5W-40 (6L) Drain Plug Turner Motorsport Oil Reminder Sticker Oil pan gasket RedLine assembly lube (4 oz.)

When it comes to optimizing the performance and longevity of your BMW N55 or S55 engine, few upgrades can rival the impact of replacing the camshaft, bearings, and gaskets. These essential components play a pivotal role in your engine's overall health and performance, and upgrading them can deliver a host of benefits, from increased power to enhanced reliability. In this article, we'll explore the advantages of investing in these critical upgrades for your BMW N55 or S55 engine. Improved Performance: Upgrading your BMW N55 or S55 engine with a new camshaft can significantly boost its performance. A high-quality camshaft can optimize valve timing, leading to improved airflow and combustion efficiency. This, in turn, results in increased horsepower and torque, providing you with a more exhilarating driving experience. If you're seeking that extra punch when you hit the gas pedal, a new camshaft is the way to go. Enhanced Durability: The camshaft, bearings, and gaskets are fundamental components of your engine's internal structure. Over time, wear and tear can cause these parts to degrade, potentially leading to catastrophic engine failure. By replacing these components with high-quality, performance-oriented alternatives, you're not only increasing horsepower but also reinforcing the engine's durability. This can help prevent costly breakdowns and extend the life of your BMW engine. Optimal Efficiency: Efficiency is a key factor in engine performance. Worn-out bearings and gaskets can lead to oil leaks and reduced engine efficiency. Replacing them ensures a tighter seal, minimizing oil leaks and maintaining the proper lubrication for all moving parts. This leads to better fuel efficiency and a smoother, more reliable engine operation, all while reducing maintenance costs in the long run. Increased Resale Value: Investing in high-quality components like camshafts, bearings, and gaskets not only enhances your driving experience but also adds value to your BMW. When it's time to sell or trade-in your vehicle, potential buyers or dealerships will recognize the value of these upgrades, making your car more desirable and potentially increasing its resale value.
