Street pads that we sell include direct OEM replacements as well as street performance pads with better stopping power than an original pad. As BMW specialists we look for products that perform better than the original BMW part without additional compromises. And nowhere is that more critical than on a brake pad. Street pads should be user-friendly with no noise or vibration. They need to work right away, even at cold temperatures. Street pads generally trade high temperature performance for low temperature performance, which makes them work excellent in street situations but generally do not hold up well over continued track use. A high initial bite is fine but may make the car feel nervous when the brakes grab unexpectantly. Brake dust residue should be kept to a minimum. And any street pad should be easy on rotors - not contributing to high rotor wear or noise.

EBC Redstuff brake pads are designed for high performance models that are driven aggressively on the street. Featuring a low dusting compound, that offers stopping power even when your brake discs are cold. EBC Redstuff pads are comprised of a ceramic particle-enhanced Kevlar-fiber based braking compound. If you have previously tried EBC Redstuff (pre-ceramic compound) this material is light years ahead. It lasts longer, brakes better and is overall quieter. Being a hard wearing pad, bed-in times can be as long as 1000 miles and drivers must be patient until the pad takes up the shape of their brake rotor. This is a truly impressive fast road pad for repeated heavy braking.

These are the stock OEM pads for most F02 7-series, F06/F12/F13 6-series, and F07/F10 5-series. This is the US market part number and was the stock pad material used for US vehicles (a Euro pad is also available that is a sportier compound). Note these pads can also be used with the rare "High Speed Brakes" option (code S5AE) on the 528i/535i but will not fit the standard 528i/535i brakes.

These are the OEM front brake pads. BMW used several different suppliers for their brake pads and we buy direct from their distributors to get you the same pad as originally equipped but at a fraction of the cost of the local BMW dealer. OEM brands include Pagid, Textar, Jurid, Ate, and others. These are the same pads as what originally came on your car but without the expensive BMW logo.

EBC Yellowstuff brake pads are designed for high friction and strong stopping power, with good heat resistance for heavy braking. In 2021, the formulation was updated to remove copper for environmental compliance, resulting in a longer lifespan but also a longer bedding-in period. As a result, Yellowstuff is no longer recommended for track use and is best suited for high-performance street driving and heavy-duty applications such as towing with trucks and SUVs. For track day use, EBC now recommends Bluestuff pads, which offer quicker bed-in times and better performance in racing conditions while remaining street-friendly.
