This intake pipe from FTP motorsports will not only improve flow over stock but also make a big improvement in the reliability column. The factory intake pipe is made from plastic to reduce weight and manufacturing costs. While this is great for the production line and the sticker price, it doesn't hold up well as the engine ages or in the case of increased power. Replacing the weak plastic stock part with a solid aluminum one like this will ensure proper functionality under higher levels of boost and eliminate wear caused by the heating and cooling of plastic pipes. This vacuum pump bolts to the valve cover and is driven off of a small sprocket. Although capable of functioning for many years, the vacuum pump will eventually require replacement for continued operation of your engine. If you have started to notice noise coming from the vacuum pump on your engine, or have noticed that some of the vacuum-powered systems are not functioning properly, it may be time to replace your vacuum pump. This pump should be replaced at the earliest symptoms of failure, as once the pump fails completely, it can drop metallic components, such as bearings, into the valve cover and timing case, leading to complete engine failure.
