The factory BMW charge pipes are prone to cracking, as they are made from brittle plastic. Here at Turner, we sell several brands of replacement charge pipes that are typically made from cast aluminum. We recommend upgrading to hard charge pipes even on stock forced induction vehicles to avoid cracking - we've seen cracking occur on high mileage cars running stock power just as frequently as we do with high horsepower builds.
The OEM inlet pipe is made of plastic and is prone to failure. Replace this flimsy piece with the newly designed turbo inlet from MST Performance. This inlet is constructed from CNC-machined billet 6061 aluminum and wire re-enforced multi-ply silicone. It is much more reliable under stock levels of boost, and can handle higher boost levels as well. After installation, you can expect improved turbo response, increased flow, and decreased turbo lag. MMX's high-flow charge pipe kit includes everything needed to improve the performance, reliability, and aesthetics of your F-Chassis M5 or M6. Smooth bore pipework improves airflow over stock and due to reducing deformation of the hoses under load or vacuum, the MMR charge pipes also improve throttle response and power output. Increased boost pressure can cause the stock pipework to split or crack and cause drivability issues. MMR's charge pipes are made of lightweight aluminum which fit right in place of OEM charge pipes. Includes a 1/8” bung for easy addition of either methanol or water injection. Features: Two high-flow aluminum charge pipes with CNC leak-free connections Four Silicone coupler hoses Jubilee clips Mounting bracket
