This is the updated high pressure fuel pump for BMW's with the N54 or N55 turbo engine. The high-pressure fuel pump is a known weak point on the N54 and N55 engines and can cause limp mode or even leave you stranded if it fails. This is the latest and most current version of the fuel pump offered. Common symptoms of a failing pump include rough idle, engine misfires, sudden loss of power, or failure to start. If your vehicle still has an earlier revision of the pump, especially if it's modified or will be in the future, this is a worthwhile upgrade for improved reliability. Included in the retail price is a refundable $130 core charge.

This low-pressure fuel sensor is commonly a cause of an "Increased Emissions" warning on the idrive and for check engine (SES) lights on BMW's with the N54 6 cylinder turbo engine or the S65 V8 engine in the M3. It will also fit a limited number of cars with the N55 engine. This sensor can be traced to a number of drivability issues, including cold start running problems, misfires, stumbling, hesitations, and overall rough running. You will likely have a code for the misfires, rich condition, or for the sensor itself. In some cases, the combination of codes can bring about a limp mode. Replacing this sensor is an easy and inexpensive first step if you're having any of these issues. From 1974 to 2019, Bavarian Autosport was one of the premier vendors for BMW and MINI auto parts. The Helix from Spool is simply a planetary gearbox for your High-pressure fuel pump. The particular configuration of the gears and their spatial fixturing allows an axial increase in shaft speed from the input to the output of the unit. The early N55 high-pressure pump is a very capable and over-engineered piece of hardware. As we start tuning and pushing more power, we start seeing drops in the high pressure. What is happening here is that the high-pressure pump is not able pump as much fuel as the injectors are injecting into the cylinders and hence causing the rail pressures to drop. The pump at this point is running out of displacement volume. With a rotary pump like the continental HPFP, an easier way to increase displacement is to spin the pump faster which results in an increased number of delivery strokes per cycle. The Helix helps you do exactly this and thus helps overcome a big limitation in early N55 fuel systems without the complexity of a secondary port injection system.

Our kit is entirely plug-and-play with the factory vehicle harness. No cutting or splicing of OEM wiring/connectors. It installs in minutes and can be removed without a trace on the car!

Our team used SolidWorks to design a Flow Optimized Flex Fuel Sensor Adapter (FFSA) to ensure fuel flow is unobstructed and with no added pressure drop at full fuel pump flow from the fuel tank to your motor when our kit is installed. This is important when pushing the factory fuel system with all the power Ethanol can provide over petrol!

Flex fuel sensor housing is designed to neatly install into the factory BMW fuel hat location.

Flex Fuel Sensor Adapter also contains two 1/8 NPT ports that allow installation of an auxiliary Fuel Pressure sensor for vehicles that don’t come with an OEM one from the factory for future use. Depending on fitment, either port can be used.
