If you have to drop or pull your transmission for any reason, the input and output shaft seals are one of the best "while it's out" maintenance items you can replace. Worn out shaft seals can allow transmission fluid to leak out, possibly shortening its life if the fluid level gets too low. This repair kit includes the basic components needed to replace both the front and rear seals.

Over the life of a vehicle, the transmission can often be overlooked when performing routine maintenance. If left unserviced, the automatic transmission fluid will break down, causing the valve body and filter to become contaminated with deposits and sludge. This will lead to poor shifting, slipping, and ultimately, transmission failure. Kit Includes: Automatic transmission filter Oil Pan Gasket & Installation Hardware Drain plug with sealing washer Fill plug with sealing washer 7 Liters of Genuine BMW ATF 3+ Fluid NOTE: Depending on the model, an additional liter of fluid may be necessary if you are draining your oil cooler or removing the valve body. As per ZF's recommendations, Turner Motorsport suggests performing a full service on your 8HP automatic transmission every 50,000 miles. If your vehicle is modified and makes more power than stock or if your vehicle is regularly track-driven, we recommend shorter 30,000-mile service intervals. This will ensure your transmission's fluid is free from contamination which will help extend the life of internal transmission components like clutch packs and solenoids.
