Reusing old bolts can lead to a weak seal between the cylinder head and engine block, allowing the head to lift and cause potentially catastrophic damage. If you have to pull your cylinder head for any reason, be sure to pick up a set of cylinder head bolts to ensure your head is properly attached to the engine block.
