Since the F8x M3/M4 was designed to make impressive power in stock form (and loads more with upgrades) these cars feature some heavy duty cooling hardware. In order to keep oil temperatures down (something many late model M cars have struggled with) requires a large oil cooler. BMW engineers positioned the oil cooler quite low under the car, positioned horizontally - an aerodynamic design which creates a vacuum force while driving, drawing heat from the oil cooler. The issue some of the vehicle owners have experienced is road debris from small branches to chunks of ice have impacted the OE belly pan hard enough to crack the oil cooler - draining the car's oil rapidly.

Installs with no drilling, cutting, or any permanent modifications! Included are two pre-mounted double side adhesive strips for easy installation onto your trunk lid. Being one of the lowest points of the car, even a close encounter with a parking block can mean the end of the road for the factory belly pan - and oil cooler. Damage to the belly pan means reduced cooling, which can result in dangerously high engine temperatures. Once the belly pan is damaged, there is no longer any protection for the oil cooler, meaning damage to the cooler and a catastrophic loss in oil pressure may be right around the corner.

Some models may also require removal of the bumper for easy installation. A tow strap is a better pickup point than a fixed steel ring, which will add weight and protrude past the bumper. Some racing series have banned the steel rings because they increase the likelihood of contact during close racing. Our straps are sold in bright red or black (red suggested for racing use as it makes it easy for tow truck operators and safety crews to spot). On some models, the strap may be tucked behind the bumper panel when not on track, which makes this perfect for dual-use track/street cars and full racecars alike. Priced per strap so order two for the front and rear. The 75mm bolt is commonly used with the M bumper designs and the 55mm bolt commonly used for the standard bumper due to the tow hook mounting thread distance behind the cover. The best practice is to measure the distance from the tow hook mounting threads to the outside of the bumper cover.

Start the aero kit on your F8x with our carbon front lip. This is a versatile lip that can be used on its own to create a whole new front end appearance and separate your car from the rest. The carbon fiber lip features a robust construction and is the base to much greater aero in the future. Once installed, this front lip can be fitted with optional side winglets and an adjustable lower splitter. There are soo many configurations of aero that can be utilized after the addition of the base carbon spoiler.

Add a lower valance to your M3/M4 to accentuate the body lines and enhance your lowered appearance. This base spoiler can be used by itself or with an assortment of add on attachments.

The F8x M3/M4 models are simply amazing to drive, don't let road debris keep you from enjoying the moment. These cars have so much packed under the hood to get you this experience that it causes the oil cooler to be placed face down to the road. This makes the cooler an easy target for impact since the stock belly pan is designed from flexible plastic material. We've seen stories from small branches, scrap pieces that fell from trucks to large ice chunks that impact the cooler immediately draining the car of its oil. If you don't catch this right away this could cause serious internal engine damage from oil starvation. Turner's in-house engineering team designed a skid plate to protect your oil cooler from these unfortunate situations and still maintain a stock-like architecture. The idea was to design something much stronger that still keeps the weight to a minimum, using 8 GA 5052 Aluminum covered their goal coming in at only 5 lbs. Since the Turner skid plate weighs only 3 lbs more than the plastic OE piece, this makes the Turner plate the lightest metal option on the market. This skid plate requires no modification and mounts using the existing factory hardware the OE belly pan was fastened with. Using a trim seal to press against the oil cooler allows the airflow to pull heat from the cooler like a vacuum the same way the OE belly pan was designed.
