The factory BMW charge pipes are prone to cracking, as they are made from brittle plastic. Here at Turner, we sell several brands of replacement charge pipes that are typically made from cast aluminum. We recommend upgrading to hard charge pipes even on stock forced induction vehicles to avoid cracking - we've seen cracking occur on high mileage cars running stock power just as frequently as we do with high horsepower builds.
Burger's replacement heavy-duty silicone turbo inlet replaces the narrow and crack-prone factory plastic unit with a higher flowing silicone inlet with billet aluminum fittings. Unlike other inlets, this inlet retains a larger flow straight from intake to turbo for improved boost response and increased turbo efficiency. While beneficial with the factory turbo, this inlet is a must-have with any larger than factory turbo and the perfect complement to the BMS N55 intake systems.
