Have you thought all of it was in vain and your requests were ignored? That is not the case. Dinan has heard your inquiries and is pleased to offer an intake for the B58-powered 'G' chassis cars of the 5/6/7/8 and X series. Like its smaller bodied 'G' chassis siblings, the Dinan carbon fiber intake for the bigger B58 vehicles utilizes a semi-open design that incorporates multiple auditory ports on a revised lid, so induction sounds of the turbo are more evident. Beyond the additional sound openings employed in the new design, the immense resonator assembly used in the stock setup to reduce unwanted turbo sounds is also eliminated with the Dinan system. Together, these elements allow the engine to nearly achieve its full sound potential but when paired with the optional turbo inlet (and fit kit) the full intake tract to the turbo is effectively replaced for further audio enhancement. While sound is undoubtedly important for a large swath of consumers, performance enhancements are equally as important to others. Common to all Dinan intake design, improvements upon the factory design by increasing flow via a larger airbox and filter element were made. These standard adjustments improv throttle response (and acceleration) and lessen the strain on the turbocharger for maximum efficiency. While box and filter enlargement and redesign are major factors in ultimately producing a more potent intake, they are not the only variables in creating a more efficient design either. The resonator assembly that limited auditory enjoyment also created a more turbulent airflow path by introducing alternative stunted pathways. The Dinan carbon fiber intake tube eliminates these flow disruptions with a smoother, direct flow path for maximum potential efficiency and an overall 20% greater flow when compared to stock. With these flow and efficiency improvements also comes greater power, particularly off the line, culminating in maximum gains of +7 WHP & +12 lb-ft at 2500 RPM on a completely stock vehicle. Built to elicit a more pronounced sound, provide improved performance with appreciable power gains, and imbue the engine bay with some carbon class -- the Dinan B58 carbon fiber intake for the 'G' chassis 5/6/7/8/X series is a modification must for any enthusiast looking to have it all. NOTE: For B58 'G' chassis 5/6/7/8/X owners that wish to run the Dinan Turbo Inlet (D760-0061) for maximum sound, the appropriate Dinan Intake (D760-0068) as well as the associated Inlet Fit Kit (D763-0100) are REQUIRED. The Dinan Turbo Inlet will NOT mate with the factory intake system. Turbo inlet pipes serve two very distinct, and differing, purposes. On one hand, the optimization of a turbo inlet pipe will encourage better turbo efficiency and responsiveness by allowing the turbo to ingest more air by way of an unobstructed and larger volume flow path. On the other, you have a more visceral benefit that some may argue is equally important than that of efficiency/flow optimization --- increased sound. No matter which of the distinct purposes is favored, Dinan will deliver on both. Regardless of application, a Dinan turbo inlet replaces the weak, and failure-prone, plastic factory inlet with a more robust carbon fiber one. CNC machined fittings are utilized to ensure proper fitment and guarantee installation as a direct replacement to the OEM inlet. Beyond material and fitment however are the improvements to the characteristics of the primary element in the system, the pipe itself. The stock turbo inlet has incorporated additional features (multiple in some cases) that introduce flow restrictions and turbulence while also reducing turbo noises. All of which are unwanted but easily rectified by removing the various resonators and enlarging (and optimizing) the path for a more uniform flow. The result is an inlet that delivers not only more air and allows the turbo to be more efficient (work less) but also provides the oft-desired amplification to the turbo induction soundtrack. Introducing the Eventuri BMW G05 X5 / G06 X6 Black Carbon Intake System. This intake is an adaptation of Eventuri's X5M intake which was a complete redesign of the stock airboxes with the aim of reducing pressure loss while increasing the flow rate and keeping inlet temperatures low. With the stock cold air feeds at the front of the car and the turbo inlets facing the rear of the car, the airflow has to negotiate a 180-degree turn through each airbox resulting in a flow restriction. To overcome this, Eventuri has introduced an additional cold air feed from the scuttle panel, which results in a more direct flow path to the turbo inlets. The additional feeds allow the intake to have a higher flow rate whilst keeping IATs low and have the additional benefit of de-restricting the sound of the turbos. With the intake openings now facing the cabin, the turbo flutter and pressure release sounds are clearly audible, elevating the driving experience to another level. The Eventuri Difference The X5 M50i Eventuri system uses Eventuri's Patented Carbon Fiber Housings with their Gen 2 bespoke filters, which provide an aerodynamically efficient airflow path from the filter to the turbos. Not just another cone filter with a heat shield but a unique design that invokes the Venturi effect and maintains laminar flow conditions to reduce the drag on the turbo. Since Eventuri's filter housings have been designed for maximum volume, the OEM engine cover no longer fits into place. So Eventuri has produced a redesigned cover that finishes off the engine bay, covering the engine hardware for a refined aesthetic. Eventuri had allowed for gaps between the engine cover and the intakes so that the heat coming off the engine can easily dissipate rather than soak into the intake system.
